@Scientist are u Aniekan? Are u a watchman lol, when mates are about to ginger NDDC, you will end up telling everyone to wait another week lol, this NDDC scholarship sha. This scenario reminds me of a comprehension, it was about some birds waiting for a farmer to cut down some maize plant so they could feed of the grains which would fall to the ground. They waited and waited until eventually the maize was cut down but the farm was also burnt down as well in preparation for the next planting season . Also speaking of which, the Bethiano guy saying if you are rich you shouldn't need a scholarship, I want to ask you if scholarship is now for the poor only? Or the Masters and PhD is meant for only the poor. You want God to hear your prayers when deep down you are a selfish person. Please change ur ideology about life or you will remain in the same level.

Who is this one?
What would you say, if dangote's son is hear ''gingering" for this scholarship. You will tell him to ride on abi? Let me tell you what will happen if the NDDC officials get to know that the son of so... So... So... Person applied, they will break all protocols and favour him, "its called the fear of vested interest". Because with a phone call Dangote can change who sit's on the NDDC sit as chairman or MD.

On the other hand, is it not greed? What will make dangote's son come around here if not greed.

Then the most annoying is if the applicants parents stole to make this money. I mean if they had stolen from our national wealth. Won't you be angry that he is here.

If your father is rich, an made his money genuinely which is most unlikely, what the f**k are you doing here. Its only logical and honourable you don't come around.

Why do you think most scholarship providers, tell you that if you already have a scholarship that you should not apply. Because you are smart does not mean you should apply to every scholarship and win all of them, its not fair. that is the reason why they don't give you such privilege even when they know you are capable and worthy of it.
Even if you get shell, exxon mobile, nlng etc, once any of then find out , they will terminate your payment.
Although some nigerians succeed and some do not. Its simply greed.
Your kind of person! Hmmmmmmmmm! I sure say you get ptdf, and NITDA etc.

Somebody got NITDA and bowed out of this one, fct my very good man, got a job and left NDDC for me. But you have a rich father and still want NDDC, SHELL, PTDF, AMADIOHA,SANGO, OGUN, erc all to yourself.

be advised, stop being greedy. God has given you scholarship by making your father rich or by taking him to a great position and he decided to steal our money. Hold on to what you have.
Stay with your "ole" or hardworking father, if' 'ole' don't join him in stealing this scholarship , because he is a dangerous man. He will begin to make calls and share money if possible to truncate this process.

You can never see the son's of the rich in havard, yale or princeton applying for student loans or grants or scholarship (I never go there oooooooo, but I dey watch their movies sha!), they know its to help those who do not have as much as they have. Its simple, most scholarship are directed to those who are smart but don't have enough to support there education. There are scholarship for indigent, disabled students. Its in categories. If NDDC is for disabled, I sure say you for apply."There is God oooooo"

I have nothing against rich people, because soon I go "blow" I will be so rich that your father won't be my match. But I will earn my money through hard work, and I will not be greedy. My prayer is that , my children, friends children, relatives and people around me, will not need a scholarship. I will be their NDDC, their SHELL and their NLNG.

Be wise my dear and stop being greedy, thank God for the scholarship you already have.

Attorney1Lawz:

Hi scholars,

Just wondering if we taking note of time - its less than ten weeks to the close of year. TimeS had it here when people clamored for TB test, making deposits to schools, making accomomodation arrangement et al. However, looks like we are yet to face the reality that only a statement from NDDC at this time would make any meaningful contribution to a dream we all started in Feb this year.

In this light i would like to kindly ask we reflect in all sincerity, if these current posture of waiting for insider sources that is clearly taking us in same direction since the interviews were concluded in April need not be reinforced with genuine push for answers from this NDDC management that is acting like there's nothing at stake.

Somebody had earlier one suggested that we engage a radio programme with Daar communications by forwarding letters to the editor. alas only about three persons took out time to do that. If we continue with this "lts in Gods hand","i got an insider source","my name is on the list" attitude - we would safely and conveniently have helped those who always take the youths for granted concluded their experiments that the Nigerian Youth is not only visionary, lacks initiative and can never be united in its quest for its RIGHT and demanding for good governace.

If an editor sure sees a rising number of mails on one issue e - i bet they take it up, Not when its a handful of letters not showing the extent of individuals affected by an unexplanable delay. It baffles me how much time people had to invest in preparing for the test, interviews nd evn processing admission overseas, yet somebody is saying such investments can be thrown away on a platter of "NDDC IS DOING US A FAVOUR"

In conclusion, lets all take take it out there nd stop crucifying those who have kept imaginary hope alive in the midst of immense tension. Lets act like men who would not tell stories, but tales of what action they took in the time of adversity and seemingly impossibilities. 99% of WISDOM HERE is about ACTING ON TIME and not lamenting , exchanging abuses on Nairaland no, giving commendations and testimonies - Our UNITED DEMAND is NNDC tell US what has happened to the 2014/2015 scheme and the budget allocated to it. We deserve to know the activities of a public institution like NDDC as it is not a CULT. Lets get to engage more media platforms and continue the tweets nd hash tags.

Stop this faith without work here, ain't taking us nowhere.

THANKS AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL

What do you suggest? I urge you to design a road map, I mean a strategy document. Roll it out and let's see. Am not good with activism but I can lend a hand of support.

A lot of you guys have talked about taking action, its high time I consider it. But be warned am N0 hypocrite and I don't like HYpocrites. No betrayals ! If we are in this, we are in it together.

I know not every body will sign up for this ACTION. For those who are interested, willing and will not run away when the chips are down, I think its best we identify ourselves, possible contact via emails, then a whatsapp group, then shape our strategy.

Just thinking ooooooo!

In my opinion I don't think our approach should be warlike, we should shun any chaotic method. rather our approach should be strategic and legitimately demanding responsibility and explanations on the delay. It should be vigilant, constructive, and concious Aluta, reputable of intellectuals.

So let's hear your action plans

I will start by saying ;

I PLEDGE MY SUPPORT FOR ACTIONS TO DEMAND ANSWERS

"Jacob have I loved, Esau have I hated, shall we then say there is unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

Well, fct, your cv is impressive sha! Just hope you did not get some of those; by the same methods else its worthless. I will rather a low grade with honour, than a 1st class with "man know man". But if truly you earned those accolades,in truth, then I respect you. (At least this should make you happy) .
I will be the last person to discredit hard work, because I know what it takes to work hard.

Not withstanding, I am against influencing a system which has been merit based all along. If you are this good, why tampering with the system.
You for leave am nahh, you for still get the scholarship even without influencing and corrupting things. And please in case you do, don't give such testimonies in church, to me its mocking God.

God is not evil. its the height of impunity for a contractor to give testimony of getting a contract he lobbied for, worst of all a contract he will never complete . I don't understand, is this Christianity? It is similar to the exclamation of fornicators in the height of sexual pleasure, shouting "oh my God" .... Guys, I fear this God and there are some things I can't imagine. Calling God here and there with no TRUTH by my judgement is not right. Maybe God himself may not see it so though; because he would have mercy on whom he chooses.

I don't claim to be self righteous, infact I am far away from righteous. But I simply don't involve divinity, when its unnecessary.
I understand the part of favour, well that's for God.

As for my name on the list; hmmmmmmmm...... What's gonna be, gonna be. I have given up long time ago. "I will have mercy on whom I want to "

Fct, don't leave this thread cos of me. It makes no sense, we ''might " be best of friends tomorrow.

Like I said , I have forgiven all of you, I can't tell the circumstances on which those "nepotic or inflencious" actions were taken. I won't be the judge.

As against contrary opinion, anyone who "genuinely" scored 50 and above in NDDC's test have my respect. To me your heads are good. If not genuinely, hmmmmmm, I really don't know what to say to you.

I want you guys to understand how messed up our system is, and it pains me that good heads like us are making this worse instead of seeking ways to redeem our father land.

Fct, promise a fellow brother and nigerian, that you will hence forth depend on God and him alone. That you will never "influence wrongly" again.

(Yes! There is away to influence rightly!)

Above all I love kids, bless your kids for me... Tell them a good friend of their father says hi!

Then csimmms, wetin I want tell you sef? Careful not to engage an atheist or humanist with that your Israel and heaven story. It makes no sense.

And for those with hopes! The expectations of the righteous shall not be cut short.

I will redirect my energy into a book am currently working on, its titled "WHY WE CAN'T WAIT". it may include some of my experience with NDDC and even this thread.

Fct, hope you don't mind I mention some of your experience in the book.( Stretching hands of friendship; raising arms for a brotherly hug)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Wonders shall never end!

I knew it! I knew it, from the word GO!

See as heavy breeze blow, all dem fowl nyash open.

So all of una, don confirm una name for the list? Fct, emma, scientist, cabaye "even you too!" and other hidden and secret hustle 'truncaters'.
The last time I voiced out here, all of you yelled like onitsha market women, praying and calling down fire from the heavens to fire and help people.

This is what I hate about hypocrite, why do you call God, when you have helped yourself. You call God to help your contractor uncle and politician father and evil friends to truncate this process...:mmmmmmm
" There is God oooooo....there is God in everything you people are doing"

To say the least, fct has the gots to call back his agents, telling them to delete his name and replace with another who merits it" . What sort of rubbish. What impetus! See moral! You u can as well call the president to stop given you contracts.
Why did you put your name the first time ? So that u will go to uk, earn a masters and get the promotion. Of course by the same method, your name appeared on the promotion list! If you don't want it again, because you will soon go for house of Reps, you will call them to replace your name with another person who merits it.
So you want me to see you as a better devil now? Mtchewwwwwwwww

Let me tell you guys, you may not know the harm you actions have caused or will cause. Some families may have lost their chance of redemption from abject poverty, because one of you replaced their daughter who would have gotten the chance to give the family hope. The father or mother of this girl may die of stroke, she may be forced into marriage , her hopes of quality education abroad may be dashed and getting jobs may be an issue since her family and background are insignificant in the move of things in this country.

My fellow, comrades you are just the few that have confirmed jeopardising the system. What of the others? Eehnnnnn! Principal ! Na only una walka come here?

I met a guy during the interview,he flew from lagos to PH, and booked flight to return after the interview, he had studied abroad, wore a nice suit and appeared very rich and was heading to his ist class hotel room after the interview. Inside my small mind, I knew he was a rich kid. I wondered why he needs the scholarship.
From that point I knew something was not right, reflecting on my long travel via a bus, with all the hustle involved and the good feeling of the 10k NDDC will give me...lol (I enjoy the money sha!).
From that point I was sceptical about the continued process of a merit based system which NDDC displayed from the point of application to the interview, all the steps were transparent and merit based.
I knew I was up against the powers that destroyed and still destroys this country.

Typing up to this point, there is this feeling! Cold hands, gentle voice, cold feeling etc. I don't know why am having this feeling and push to forgive you guys for what you have done.
Wooooooooow! This is not normal!

Hmmmmmmmm!

Well, I forgive you guys, I forgive your actions. Don't know why this inner voice is convincing me, that your actions were products of circumstance and the fear of vested interest.

I will just drop it here and go!

I wish you all the best!

To err is human, forgiveness is divine

Nigeria can never succeed with nepotism, favouritism, destruction of merit based systems that guarantees prosperity and enshrines dignity in labour.

This country is destroyed by her citizens, even with some youths, restoration is not within reach.

I encourage us all to do our best and save this country from herself, else our kids are bound to live in a terrible Nigeria if we fold our hands and do nothing.

Even if you have the power to take your sachet water and drop the empty sachet on Goodluck's table, I beg you to humble yourself and use the waste basket. I know you have the power, but I will respect your courage to use the waste basket. In the same vain, I will respect your courage to compete with fellow Nigerians on a fair play ground. That would be honourable.

imagine you are in same class with obasanjo's son, and you are robbed of your 1st position simply because the president's son has to take the 1st position to his corrupt father, to savour the ego of the dying president that he is truly first everywhere. How would you feel.

Some rich and privileged kids are humble, some of then don't even allow their fathers reputation to get in their ways. I think is cool that way.

Like I said, if he steals and succeeds, he is only a smart thief. I would not quarrel with you, but I will have a problem with you and him , when he fails to use that money on you. More annoyingly, I will rain curses on him if he makes any attempt out of greed to divert opportunities and funds meant for other Nigerians. Tell him that 6ft is not far, even 15ft is achievable.

What is wrong in having a merit based system for God sake. If you guys are not tired of '' man know man? " As for me I don tire. Every where you go, people are always knowing people. Even for bus, conductors treat those they know with respect, and if they don't know you from anywhere they will make lagos miserable for you.

Just recently , I had to make effort to know one police man,so I could get free pass without dropping fifty naira. To my greatest surprise , the last time I drove by, he took his face off and his fellow officer stretched his hands. I tried to get his attention by shouting "officer!", he turned and replied "bros, well done, no be me dey duty today!" I smiled and had to drop. You see bro, it doesn't pay
of course you know the implication if you don't drop the 50 box....:hmmmm , for example, my licence will turn fake that minute, my car trunk will possess exhibit and they may even charge me for not having a bottle of engine oil. Lol.

The summary of the whole story is this, support a merit based systems at all cost. Even if it means falling out with your political father. Don't worry I am your brother and will stand with you in this movement until we convince your father to shun corruption and help build the Nigeria of our Dreams.

In this New Nigeria, we all will be glad we took that chance to make that change that we seek.

God bless NDDC
God bless Nigeria

1.you over anticipated and put all your hopes on Nddc scholarship which is not worth the stress unless you had a back up plan. getting a slot for PhD in this nddc stuff is very competitive .how can you apply for a visa without the letter ?? it doesn't make any sense.

2.I'll advise you to write GRE or GMAT exams with your distinction in your masters it should be enough to get you a grant/scholarship in USA /Canada. its Free and fair unlike here

3.if you really so keen on travelling out, there are other means but its left for you to decide whether to hustle for a job here or do menial jobs abroad and save up for whatever plans you want to achieve. cheers

At this point I really do not know what or who to turn to?
My plans are crashing on me, first I missed my appointment with the embassy cos nddc award was not ready. I tried to book another appointment and the embassy gave me a date 2 weeks after my enrolment date in the university.
And it takes less or equal to 8weeks to get visa after interview.

To get admission in the 4th best university in germany no be beans, its like to be admitted to harvard. Plus 5 admissions in the uk.
I simply want to go to germany, to gain real time practical knowledge, its all I ask! Uk masters is same thing with a masters in Nigeria, its simply bullshit. Thousands of uk graduates can't do shit, they haunt for jobs alongside the naija guys, so what's the point. if they had gone to america or europe am sure, life will be better for them. Yet, nddc and the rest wants uk. Their reasons is best known to them, am not interested.

I don tire, am near 'giving up' . At least I don try. I have made all efforts humanly possible to achieve my dreams of studying abroad.
I guess I should just, forget all this scholarship things. After all, my father is late and my family is no where in the corridors of power, that means getting nddc scholarship will be a miracle. Because by my calculation , some ppl here have confirmed their slots on the list, I can't imagine GEJ's list, senators list, abuja list, oba and emirs list that will flood the MD of nddc's office. Mtchewwwwwww

I just realised that it has been a waist of time all along. The only thing that can happened is the move of the BIG HAND OF GOD in this matter.

Dear God, if this post shows no faith and doubt ,am sorry ,am only human. Forgive me in advance.

As for those of you whose parents and big uncles in abuja have messed up or are intending to mess up this selection process, just know that I am smarter, more intelligent and brilliant than you all. Put me in same class with you, I will disgrace your parents corruption skills .

Spend our oil money and comeback, u will still be worthless. If only ur parents were wise enough to spend part of the money they have stolen to pay ur fees I won't bother since their stealing tactics was clean with no traces. instead they come here to frustrate the hustle of genuine and humble Nigerians who truly need this education. For those truncating the good intentions of young nigerians like me, cold ground will be their portion, rock will be their pillow, termites and rodents their companions.

This will be my last post here! I will not come here again, except if miracle happens I.e if I miraculously get a text or call to receive the award ( ...hahhhahahha, u should imagine the look on my face ..lol).
For those of u who will say 'this guy is psycho", pls examine urself if you are not same, be sure ur faculties are intact.

Well I will stay put with my distinction in my recent masters, possible go to OSU or any other messed up nigerian university and get a PhD or change my mind and try UI or UNN (that will mean my 3rd academic journey), never IFE (yoruba fundamentalist' ) or UNILAG ( fashion and effisy concious uni), UNIBEN (city of witches).

For those who will genuinely get this award, I wish you well. Even in the UK, the spirit of Chinua Achebe will direct you . You would not be a waste. Infact, for you to come this far, proves you are smart and fit to join my league of 'primus inter peres '. Success shall be your own.

Be wise, out smart the children of those criminals who call themselves our leaders.

And let me state this, should I get this scholarship, it is a confirmatory test that the process is transparent. Well I don't care what you think , my success in this process is the rate determing factor, because am sure I scored higher than you in the qualifying test.

Okay! Am done

This week is the WEEK. This is the rate determining week. What ever happens this week would change our lives . For some, it will push them up in the course of their destinies. For others, it may be a heart braking one.

I just want us to know that what ever comes our way, we have what it takes to contain it.
Above all don't ever give up.
Keep your mind on the goal, in due time, it will ALL make sense .

Will the embassy accept a print copy of admission letter?
My university sent my admission letter since june to my addresses, but I have not received it.
After waiting and no 'show' , I asked the school to send another copy to my school address which they did on august 20th. Till this time of writing, I have not received my admission letter.

What must I do?

Hmmmmmmmmmm! Having. Neck pains, simply because I have been on this thread for more 4hours (stretch), I had to update myself from page 360- last.
I don't understand why some newbees find it difficult to engage some effort. There is no free lunch anywhere, even in free town. Take the pains to read through... It pays.

No one has the right to insult or talk to eke40seven, emeka55, ogbueche77 and any other old member of this thread in a rude way. I would not accept it. If u are a newbee, study the culture here and follow on.

On this thread we celebrate hard work, research, brotherhood, integrity, faith, hope, and success.

When I joined this thread months ago, I read from page 1-60,120-2.., then from 280-till date. It takes hard work , No pain No gain.

Why should a graduate type in such a way that he alone can understand, what happens to 'effective communication' (basic rule of language), when message from the sender is clear to the receiver. Hey bro, don't be stubborn, write in simple and clear language.

Hello guys,
Nigerians can be lovely people. See the way you guys are all relating like family, its really nice.

On d nddc matter, my heart beat has quadrupled, its beating four times faster. I just hope it will all worth it at the end.

Well, I want to advice; I think it would be wise if you guys consider a masters in Nigeria, forms are on sale now for NAU, FUTO, UNIPORT and others.

Am not trying to discourage anyone or make u loose faith. I am only suggesting you good use of the time. Its obvious that nddc will only award 200 out of 1500 that were invited for the interview. My question is , what happens to the 1300 left?

If you really want to do a masters, I advice u consider the naija option. Masters programme in Naija is not as bad as people think. In fact, its becoming competitive with increasing number of applicants in recent times, especially with the naija big 6 universities.

Presently, the masters programmes are not necessarily affected by strikes and other issues that tend to delay one in sch. Your graduation time is basically up to you.

Please, this is only an advice. As adults you are obliged to take it or ignore it.

MY EXPERINCE OPENING BLOCKED ACCOUNT WITH DB @ GERMAN EMBASSY, ABUJA. 1)Abuja offers consular services only on thursdays 9- 11am. I advice you get there by 8am. 2) thru the reception and security, to the room of the visa officer, called into the interview boot by a bell, declared my purpose of coming and the Lady asked for 'one' copy of the DBank form, admission letter and passport data page (also go with ur original intl passport). She asked me to sign in the boxes (3 of them) and wait outside the boot. (d place fine sha.....). 3) after about 30-45mins, i was called into the boot to collect my endorsed/certified/authorised documents mentioned above. 4) leaving the embassy, i scanned the page containing the certification. (be careful not to detach any sheet). 5) using DHL i sent the forms to the appropriate DBAnk address. 6) sent the scanned authorised page nd other required documents to the appropriate email for visa interview appointment on friday and got a reply with an appointment d following monday with date, time, place .
