if you are sponsoring urself, its better to say u are being sponsored by ur family or parents (provided they are not 'late')
yapyap: if you are sponsoring yourself will it be good to tell the consulate so?

shuni05: Kudos everyone , I've been a close follower of this thread and I've read every page in detail. Great Job guys.

I have a few questions as regarding my Visa application which I hope you guys can help me out.

As required for a study Visa by the German embassy am applying from (Cape Town), they need me to provide ;

1.Proof of health insurance valid from date of arrival and for the duration of stay in Germany (German Statutory/National or private health insurance).

2.Proof of accommodation (Rental agreement/Student hostel, etc.)

- I will like an advice on which Health insurance I should go for Mawista or AOK and if its possible to take out the insurance from here.
- As regarding the accommodation , I contacted the studentenwerk and already applied but they cannot guarantee availability of accommodation. Is there any other way to take out a rental agreement from here.
See what they told this southafrican to provide, if na nigerian them go ask for millions . Germany , there is God ooooo
Thank you

Good one Bissi. So hypothetically, if a transfer of less that €2k attracts a 1% commission, wouldnt it be better to transfer the cash...say €4.5k twice?
my dear, what is the diffc btw what u are asking or suggesting and the last paragraph of that post ?hmmmmmm , i tire oooo

now that u have received the account details, transfer the money ... To transfer the money i.e minimun of 8040 euros + 50 euros (service charge)........... Ask your bank if they can change ur money for you, if YES use ur bank other wise use the bureau de change guys. CAUTION ! Dont carry ur money to their office to give u euros, its better u ask them to follow u to the bank ,let them give the bank officer the euros, after its confirmed original and complete u can then give him his cash (naira) or transfer the money into his account. Do all this transaction inside the bank, if possible in the manager's office to avoid stories that touch. The bank will do the transfer to ur german account for u but with a charge oooo and other procedures, no be free oooooo. Those who have done this can explain more.

hello guys! First, this Eke47,his cousins and family memeber; hmmmm ,una sabi speak english sha.........! @geemena, i also want to go to the abuja embassy to open the account. Abeg wetin them tell u, as in how u take do am? (Step by step.) @ ola.... Who asked for steps to open a blocked account, what i want to share is based on what i have learnt from this thread, gather more info before you take action ! 1. Go online, dowload, fill and print the acct opening form or print and fill handwritten . Please print coloured, and dont sign the form after filling. 2.go to the consulate in lagos or embassy in abuja with the form, your admission letter and passport data page (2 copies each ). You will sign the form there in the presence of a visa officer. Submit the signed form and other documents to the visa officer, but in abuja i learnt u will be the one to send the documents to the Duestche bank. 3.once ur applicatio for acct opening gets to the bank in germany they will email u , ur acct details. Know dat dis will take some days.

am not just happy with you guys ooooo, make una anwser ppl question nahh ! Una dey here dey talk unilag and rhine waal. Abeg make una free d matter, the guy done beg everybody, yet some ppl no wan forgive amm. Wetin una want make him do again? Although, i agree with His point of view. I understand that the major reason y some of us here going to germany is for economic reason and good life. The study thing is just an icing on the cake. But i advice, if u must study abroad, make sure the school is a good school. Know that NUC recently published a list of schools whose certificate are accepted in nigeria. Look before u leap so u dont waist ur time and money. For the records, some nigerian unis are better than some schools abroad. I can prove this to you anytime any day.

MY QUESTION

on this thread someone shared how her sister helped her to get SPONSOR LETTER in less than 3hours, my question is this?

1. was your sister asked to pay the 8000 euros before the letter will be issued?

2. do u think the conditions to obtain the letter will vary, depending on the state of residence of the prospective sponsor?

3.kindly ask you sister, the steps .

this this information will help me obtain the letter, my prospective sponsor said he was asked to pay the 8000 euros, before they give him the letter in his local government in Germany.

hey for Newcomers, a sponsor letter is one of the financial proof options required by the German embassy. can only be obtained by a German resident willing and capable to sponsor your studies in Germany. he or she would get this letter from the LGA he resides in Germany.

HELLO EVERY ONE

well i feel i will be doing a great disservice to the good people who i have gained from, visiting this page. i have been a regular visitor, gained so much, and i think its right to share.

LESSONS FOR STARTERS

1. i agree with everyone here on the need to read from page 1 to the end. you must do this, and please get a note book and a pen to take notes on some vital points. yeah i understand its difficult, but trust me ITS WORTH IT. Another way is this read like 1-60, jump to 100-160 then 200-260 most importantly 280 -this page covers the testimonies of 2014 applicants.......

2. learn to take notes and be mindful of a few misguided infos.

3. now, your application can be as cost effective as possible. i advice you use uni-assist but if you dont have the money , u must diligently search for schools that are not registered with uni-assist (note: most schools are)

4. to send your documents , asides DHL, UPS , FEDEX you can use NIPOST. as against the general opinions here, ppl have advised to ignore NIPOST. yes i understand their stands but the truth is NIPOST works and works well, but you must take this WARNING.... it takes 2weeks to get ur parcel to germany using NIPOST and the fee is less than 1000 naira, and make sure you use the REGISTERED MAIL option . i advise you give enough time to the deadline, for me i sent my applications three weeks or more to the deadlines.

5. that you have a second class lower is not a barrier, all you need is a little more determination.

6.make sure your motivational letter is good, gracious God i have great skills in M-letter.

7. please respect the views of those who have had success here........

my testimony, i got admission in Two high ranking universities in Germany, university of freiburg and university of druisburg-essen

please note that what i have shared here, is only a cost effective approach to make successful applications against all odds.
