Lmao! That guy is from a region where white Muslims in Palestine gets bombed and instead of them going to Israel to fight the oppressors of Palestinians, they started killing black Christians in their own country.. cry

What is really sad is that they believe that loan APC grabbed to rebuild the Boko ravished towns is for the Northern people.
History has repeatedly shown them that the Elite Northerners don't give a damn about them. Only 0.5% of Hausa Fulani's have benefited from the leadership of their leaders, but they still kill for them. It is very puzzling

hello biafranqueen

let's be civil pls, there are way worse pictures from the gully erosions that take place in the SE often, coupled with other terrible sights of aba. you won't see us posting such pictures which are demeaning. this is a national issue and not something to joke about.
Sorry if I insulted my brothers and sisters, the reason I am showing those pictures is to hit home to them that land grabbing Igbos is a topic of distraction from the real issues at hand. The thread I created in 2012 was erased when N/L went down, it was all about how Nigeria is allowing the children to suffer, how the sea life was destroyed and the lively hood stripped from the coastal people in that region. I worked with Professor Richard Steiner to bring international attention to the problem in Nigeria, when they were making a big deal of the Mexico Coast and he was forced to resign in 2010, because of it.

That is why I am posting those pictures, not to ridicule but to bring us back to reality. When they say we are land grabbing, I take it personal because I know who the real enemies of the oil states are and it is not us the Igbo's! angry

Okay. But it's their right to determine their fate through a UN supervised referendum.
Absolutly my Dear and we will help them with legal representation, financial backing and our time and energy. The youths of this generation are wiser and have learned from the mistakes of our elders. Biafrans will go down in history as the first Africans to break peacefully without spilling blood. We will be international heros, and our children's, children's will be so proud to be Biafrans knowing that their elders used #BrainsNotBlood to actualize Biafra.

That is exactly what people like me wants to avoid because at the end of it all when Biafra is eventually actualised,we will still be neighbours.
Absolutly, it will even create a stronger bond between us. So many Igbos in the West can not just uproot companies they have struggled and sweat for, they should not have to become potential enemies of the state. We can show white people that Africans are not savages that solve differences with the exterminating of lives.

Thanks for being honest. No doubt so many in the so called "South -South" will never want to continue in Nigeria. Yet and still we have to think strategically. The path of least resistance is to actualized the 5 Igbo states. After that is solidified we support our brothers to join us with a referendum. We must think outside the box this time. We still have to deal with the current Igbo leadership, they know they will no longer have a job and will be our biggest foes.

Mister, stop distorting history and spreading lies.
FYI, Igboland extends more than the political SE. And even at that Igbos have not at any time live their lives dependent on crude oil like many of you do.

And that's why Igbos were the least affected by the reduced oil earnings courtesy of the global drop in crude oil prices.

Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Imo and Ebonyi are laden with hydrocarbons.

Gowon said that Nigerians should be proud of the gains of the war through the healing balm of “no victor, no vanquished.”

According to him, the three Rs of reconciliation, rehabilitation and reconstruction were adopted to enhance national unity.

He also argued that the abandonment of the development plan drafted immediately after the war by successive governments, resulted in the infrastructural decay in the country.

The former head of state, however, lauded Ojukwu for his courage in defending his people during the war, saying: “if Ojukwu were in my shoes, he would have equally waged the war.”

He also commended the Anambra government and management of the university for honouring Ojukwu with the change in name of the institution from Anambra State University to COOU.

My Dear no one is disputing what you wrote, but the crux Of the matter is that at this point if we involve oil states we are looking for unnessary resistance when we can strategically bring our brothers from the Sourh in peacefully with a referendum. We are not savages, we are too intelligent to have to spill blood to get our freedom.

That is the "koko" of this biafra brouhaha. This was where ojukwu went wrong (but then he wasn't truly fighting for his people rather for his own inordinate ambition) in his last escapade which culminated in the gratuitous loss of over 3million innocent Nigerians.

As long as biafra is extended beyond the 5 indigenous ibo states then they should be ready for strong resistance from others in the country and outside, too.

IMHO, biafra should at the initial stage confine itself to those 5 states and afterwards, others who want to join them can make their case to be accepted into the new nation or not. Trying to coerce the oil states into biafra will be met with stiff opposition form the rest of nigeria as it will be seen as the ibos walking away with the country's "golden goose".
It is what it is. That is the only way it will not escalate into another horrific event in history.
Culture / Re: Celebrating The Rich History And Culture Of Igbo People by biafranqueen: 7:31pm On Nov 05, 2015
When the Whiteman (Major Moorhouse) and his army marched into Nnewi in 1904, the young Igwe, whose father had just died, was spirited away for fear that the Whiteman would kill him. His uncle Nwosu Odumegwu, who was the richest man in Nnewi then, received the visitors. They thought he was the Igwe but he told them no that the Igwe was in mourning and should not see visitors while mourning the late Igwe. Given that Ezeodumegwu was wealthy and influential, the Whiteman sought to make him the Warrant Chief of Nnewi, but he vehemently refused. The Whiteman was said to have expressed his surprise that an African would refuse to be made the Warrant Chief of his people by the Whiteman. When Ezeodumegwu and other elders got a firm assurance that the young king would not be harmed, they arranged for a public meeting between the Igwe and the Whiteman at the Nkwo Nnewi Square. On the appointed day, Igwe accompanied by the other three Obi of the three quarters came out to meet with the Whiteman in the presence of the Nnewi People. Igwe was a young man of 23 years then.

That was why I said in my earlier post that, if you give an Nnewi man a trillion dollars to assume the Igwe throne, he would curse you and run away. If the Igwe or Obi throne of Nnewi was created by the Whiteman, it would be open for contest by the rich and influential, and Nnewi has the greatest cluster of rich men in Eastern Nigeria. Even though Dr Nwafor Orizu was the Senate President in the early 1960s when Orizu II died, he did not even dream of going near the throne as is done in other communities because he knew that he was not the heir.

Ọdu-okike or okike (plates1-4), as it is usually called, is a long hollowed elephant tusk carried by the ọzọ titled men in Igbo communities mostly within the areas of Agu-Ukwu, Nawfia, Umoji, Abagana, Onitsha, Nkwelle-Ezunaka and so on. It is usually recognized as the highest symbol of social status. According to Onwuejeogwu (1981:84) “Ndi Nze members are given special seats during the ceremony of Igu-Arọ in Eze Nri’s palace. Some have their elephant tusk with them”.

In the work of Ekwensi (1963) on the Ezunaka and Iyi-Oji annual celebration, which comes up in November every year, he described the function of Okike thus

The ọkpalas from all quarters of Nkwelle-Ezunaka sit next to the Priest. The Ogbuefi, the Ndiọzọ, and all the rest of the titled men of Nkwelle-Ezunaka mark the occasion by blowing elephant tusk, trumpets. . . . dances are exhibited” (Cyprian Ekwensi 1963:183)
Picture 2
Again in Onitsha, according to Nzekwu (1983:169) an ọzọ title leads into the next rung of importance on the Igbo social ladder—chieftancy. In his words on women of status

The women social status is immensely raised by acquisition of ivory ornaments – anklets and bangles. This puts her on the same pedestal as ọzọ title holder even though it is much less expensive to acquire. Her official dress comprises her anklets and bangles, two white loin cloths tied over the other, a white head tie, an elephant-tusk trumpet, priceless coral-bead necklaces and a horse-tail. The bangles, anklets and tusk apart from being ornamental, serve as a distinguishing mark of the achievement of their possessor (Onura Nzekwu 1983:174).

Nice, Biafraqueen.

It was probably a mistake, but two of the pictures above are from Benin - the one after the roped bronze pot, and the one depicting a bunch of white men amidst elephant tusks and statuettes.
Your right on the white man one but the roped bronze pot not to sure.

It is possible that the inhabitants of Igbo-Ukwu had a metalworking art that flourished as early as the ninth century (though this date remains controversial). Three sites have been excavated, revealing hundreds of ritual vessels and regalia castings of bronze or leaded bronze that are among the most inventive and technically accomplished bronzes ever made. The people of Igbo-Ukwu, ancestors of present-day Igbo, were the earliest smithers of copper and its alloys in West Africa, working the metal through hammering, bending, twisting, and incising. They are likely among the earliest groups of West Africans to employ the lost-wax casting techniques in the production of bronze sculptures. Oddly, evidence suggests that their metalworking repertory was limited and Igbo smiths were not familiar with techniques such as raising, soldering, riveting, and wire making, though these techniques were used elsewhere on the continent.

My Dear let us stop adding fuel to the fire, as you stated this viewpoint is not popular so when the time comes we shall see who is who. I still stand by my initial statement that in order to really gain momentum in the movement we should focus on the 5 initial states. As long as it involves those oil blocks you are looking for trouble from Western powers and their stooges in Nigeria. We must take the road of least resistance. To save energy, time, money and lives, I think we should focus on the 5 states only. At least until furthering our cause for actualizing.

Buhari promises allowances for unemployed corps members, free meal for pupils

All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has promised to provide allowances to discharged but unemployed Youth Corps members for Twelve (12) months while in the skills and entrepreneurial development programmes, if elected in 2015. There is also the pledge to provide One Meal a day for all Primary school pupils.

Buhari/Osibanjo administration also vow to create a Social Welfare Program of at least Five Thousand Naira (N5000) that will cater for the 25 million poorest and most vulnerable citizens upon the demonstration of children’s enrolment in school and evidence of immunisation to help promote family stability.

“As a nation and the Sub Saharan Africa’s leading energy producer, we had in the past squandered the opportunity to build functional infrastructure to better the lives of the average Nigerian. We can no longer afford this luxury of inactivity. We must revive our public and private sectors in order to provide functional services and secure the good of the individual Nigerian and his or her family,” Buhari said in a document that reveals some of his plans for 2015.

TonyeBarcanista:

The issue of irresponsible leaders is not exclusive to SS region. From NE to SW, SE, NC, NW and SS the story is the same, Reckless government at virtually all level. In these regions, ex-officials/thieves are celebrated. It isn't just exclusive to SS and Delta state. Are you not aware that some people keep celebrating Saraki(NC), Buruji Kashamu(SW), Sylva(SS), Uzor Kalu(SE), Akume(NC), Yerima(NW), Atiku(NE) etc?. The point is that it is a national challenge not just SS. This is a different issue.

If you look closely, you will realise that the demand of SS is centered on fiscal autonomy. Yes, we are dissatisfied (just like every other Nigerian) but we never solicited for external force to make decision for us nor one that Instigate us against others and seek to impose a will on us. It is now a thing of "join me and be my friend or don't join and I'll call you a saboteur". Nobody will accept this my darling.
I agree with you and that no one should be forced, but we can not allow the main point of "fiscal autonomy" to be replaced with a land grabbing debate.
Instead we should have a healthy discussion on how "fiscal autonomy can be used to develop the "South-South and how the financial autonomy will make it to the local government councils, not the Governors personal bank account. Igbo's are not part of the disbursement of the accrual funds allocated from the Federation Account we are not the reason why your local councils are grossly abused.
