This, in brief, is the historical background of Buhari’s democratic credentials. Then Abacha tried to rehabilitate him by appointing him as the head of the task force on petroleum. At that post, he did his best to help only his kinsmen above the Niger River. Eighty four percent of all projects executed by him were sited in the North and sixteen out of eighteen directorates under Buhari were headed by northerners! More importantly, by taking up such a position under Abacha, had Buhari not lost his moral credibility in terms of corruption which was the hallmark of the Abacha presidency? Was he not an important integral part of the Abacha’s rapacious governance? Had he not given his blessing to the Abacha rampage? Had he not taken part in the suppression of the June 12 Abiola’s electoral victory? Then came the Obasanjo presidency. Obasanjo had pandered more to the interest of his northern power brokers during his first outing as military Head of State. He had preserved, in tact, their unearned privilege and power. And they thought he was fool enough to continue to do so as president during his second coming. When Obasanjo did not follow through, Buhari became the arrow-head of northern dissatisfaction with his government. And naturally, he began to propagate only the interest of his northern constituency to the extent of declaring that muslims should vote only for muslims. He declared his support for Sharia in the northern states and would not mind if that Islamic jurisprudence extends far beyond the northern states into the south. |
As Head of State and Commander in Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces (some people called it Northern Nigerian Armed Forces), all important command posts were headed by northerners and muslims. The Chief of Army Staff, Naval Staff and Air Staff were all northerners. The Inspector General of police was a northerner, the minister of Federal Capital Territory, the minister for Internal Affairs and all major positions in government were headed by northerners. Indeed, under Buhari, the nation’s affairs, particularly the meetings of the Supreme Military Council could be held and were indeed rumored to have been held on numerous occasions, in Hausa. |
So what exactly is wrong about that? |
13volts: Another anti north blogAnother northern parasite defending his people's idiocy. |
jason123: The funny thing is that honeric 01 is Edo! Is Edo not Niger-delta?Fact is people from that area are famous in arrss licking their northern masters. honeric 01 is not doing anything different from what his people knows how to do best. |
Some people are really daft discussing this article on what it's tittle says. |
For those of you lazy ones, here is the link to the so called Ojukwu's quote about Uwazuruike. It was written by one Tochukwu Ezukanma http://www.nigerdeltacongress.com/uarticles/uwazurike_ojukwu_and_the_biafran.htm |
Onlytruth: whao! This is your first time, and you actually believed that rubbish was said by our Ojukwu against our Uwazuruike? can't you simply do a google search on that quote to find out who actually wrote that nonsense about Uwazurike? Do you actually think that Ojukwu will stoop so low? Haba! What's wrong with some of you? Laziness? Who ever wrote the useless article above and credited the nonsense quote to Ojukwu should be stoned. Iddiots. |
I wonder why people are responding to this fake poster. Don't be fooled. He never met any new girl, and who is even sure if he has any girl to marry in January. Below is part of what he wrote which none of you didn't care to discern. This poster claimed he has asked the so called girl out and the so called girl has not given her answer. Yet he went on to claim that the girl keeps his house sparkling clean each time she comes for a visit. Why can't you guys read between the lines before offering advise to a fake poster. have asked her out and even though she has not yet given me a direct answer, i know she will succumb someday, spending the night/weekend with her is so blissful, she even knows how to play my favourite PS winning eleven, am so thrilled, a great cook and keeps my house sparkling clean each tym she comes for a visit, |
So what if he favors Niger Delta? Didn't abokis up north do the same? Nonsense!! |
Good news. When Abia states issued the same warning, all of you ignorant went mad as if it's not the right thing to do, giving that the same situation is what is already happening in the north where their boko haram are chasing people of other states out of their job with their violence. Although MEND made it clear that it's only the northerners they want out, but read through the lines of Abia's warning and you will also notice that it was targeted at the northerners. Reason being about the killing of Igbo people in northern nigeria and sending them out of their work. I hope Abia government will not back down, and i want MEND to carry their warning to the last extent. Enough of awusa nonsense. |
All you people talking from all compass of your mouths should first of all ask or seek to know the reason why this policy is being implemented. This is not about anything disunity among Igbos, rather it's mainly targeted at northers working in Abia or in any Igbo territory to move back to their own states. Your Boko haram started all these by killing Igbo people in the north which made many Igbo to fled the north. On returning home from the north due to the targeted killing of Igbo people in the north, where do you expect those Igbo of Abia origin to work? We have shed enough blood for you parasites. Everyone should sack everyone from their various states and let the country be divided for peace sake. Below is the well merited reason for sacking those awusas from Abia states. According to him, Governor Orji, as a gentleman, informed his fellow South East governors about the plan of his government following the return of indigenes from some parts of the North where there were crises. |
The northerners must be pissed off with GEJ on this. As usual as have always been the case since independence a nigerian president of northern extraction, Umaru Yar'adua started what he and his northern nigerian fellows knows very well that they will not finish because it is on Igbo territory. We have seen so many of such in the past and yet unfulfilled. But guess what? GEJ came in and decreed that this project must have to be finished and this is what is happening now to the disappointment of the northerners and to an extent the South westerners whom have been their partner in caging the development of Igbos. All 100% Kudos to GEJ on this. |
owobokiri:Firstly, Saudi King never invited Buhari to any Hajj. Buhari went to Hajj on his own as does other muslim heads of state who wishes to fly to Mecca to fulfill their religious obligations. May be you can show us where it was written that he was personally invited by the Saudi King to that year's Hajj. Stop peddling rumors. Secondly, when have shaking hands become a means of transferring poison to humans? So Al-Mustapha's so called revelation have suddenly become the truth. Transferring poison through hand shake? Only in the minds of Nigerians like you. So Ghadafi's body guards were actually trying to transfer poison through hand shake to Berlusconi? Ok, i got it. Berlusconi is still alive because he refused to shake Ghadafi's body gaurds. So, in your warped mind, Abacha dropped his guard because Arrafat was visiting, and then because of that he got poisoned through the hand shake of Arafat's body guard? You better go and examine your head first. |
velo10:How naive you are. How old are you sef? So you actually believed this account of Al-Mustapha? Ok, i have a bridge to sell to you, and very cheap also. Read the below quote by Al-Mustapha and compare it to the one your so called media fed you. Contrary to insinuations, speculations and sad rumours initiated by some sections of the society, I maintain that the sudden collapse of the health system of the late Head of State started previous day (Sunday, 7th June, 1998) right from the Abuja International Airport immediately after one of the white security operatives or personnel who accompanied President Yasser Arafat of Palestine shook hands with him (General Abacha) |

ahmedoo:Ohh yes, and this website (http://kanoonline.com/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=0oo1dekcfo86mn0sbd8566gbp6&board=1.0) which is supposed to be popular in the north, how many posts are being made there in a day? Check and know when were the majority of the last posts made. You should better start campaigning for the western type of education for your people. |
I am still wondering why Oyo, Ekiti Parapo, Ijebu, Egba, Igbomina, Akoko and others in SW nigeria are not listed. For example, you don't expect an Egba man to be called a Yoruba or someone from Ijebu to click on Yoruba as his ethnic group. I know a girl from Ekiti that if you call her a yoruba girl, she will not mind breaking your head with anything around her. |
scholes0:You people will never cease to complain. If this poll does not show you who are the most populated and most educated in nigeria, then i wonder what else will show you. You should get on with it. |

Wait until Becomerich comes in with his multiple user names which are more than 50 and see Yoruba numbers go up. |

Are they the same ethnic group? You think what your political fathers created out of the blues to assert their military hold on nigeria will fly in this forum? Read up man, and understand that hausa is a very different ethnic group from fulani. Both of them exists in other countries of Africa and have never being grouped as one ethnic group in those places. It is only in nigeria that both are dubiously grouped as one for political reasons. |
One of the moderators "probably a Yoruba" is deleting some of Igbo votes. I saw 60 for Igbo, and after a while, it went down to 57. |
Ok again, (posted earlier above) have any person in here considered advising this guy on depending on Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) or (Amniocentesis) tests to determine the genotype of their yet unborn baby and then follow up with the decision of aborting or not? I think there are few hospitals in Nigeria that carries out this tests, though it's quite expensive for the ordinary folks. |
