Family › Re: I Am Growing Fond Of My Neighbors Husband by Bifwoli: 8:07pm On Nov 25, 2021
NovesaTillie:
I moved to this city because of my new job and my neighbors have been very homely and helpful to me especially the ones next flat,a young man and his wife with a kid . They have been very kind to me, sometimes when I get home late from work his wife calls me to join them for dinner and hangouts.

My issue now is I am beginning to grow fond of the man because of how gentlemanly he treats his wife and how dotting he is of their son. He ticks all the qualities that I dream of and sometimes I just feel like inviting him over to my place when his wife is out to tempt him a little.

What can I do to stop this feeling?
I don't want someone else man or to destroy a cute family.

Please don't insult me because I am in a relationship though it's a young relationship and I cherish my man I just see myself falling for this neighbor.
This is bigamy (or something close to it) and if you actually invite him it'll be adultery.Just the truth,no BS here.

Very insightful! This thread needs to get to the front page so that our people can read and learn. There is money to be made on the African continent. It's just that, many of our people don't know how to go about it legitimately and many equally lack start up capital. I believe that if African youths are taught entrepreneurial skills and how to go about starting a business somewhere in Africa, they will go for it. But right now, African youths think that the only way to make it in life is to migrate to the western world. Meanwhile, you have Black citizens from western countries like USA who wished they lived somewhere else so that they can finally get a break from racism. Such is the irony of life.
You have bitter tribalism between Hausas vs Igbos, Hutu's vs Tutsis,Tigreans vs Amharas ,Arabs vs black Mauritanians etc.

Africa is not the calm eldorado that's being portrayed here businesswise or socio-politically .The Chinese still control your infrastructure sector ,foreign airlines control 70% of Africa's air travel mkt ,foreign carriers control your cellphone mkt and Nigeria's oil sector is dominated by western oil majors.

Let's come again and be brutally honest with ourselves vis-a vis what Singapore ,China,Malaysia and UAE have achieved in the 60yrs Africans have been independent.

Zimbabwe? Tanzania? Kenya?

Are you really comparing these countries to us? Do you know how many Zimbabweans flood SA daily? Presently, only South Africa and some few other countries fair better than us and we know why.

Almost all African nations are facing similar challenges. What top class cities can you find in Tanzania and Kenyan? Can any even compete with what is obtainable in India?

His excuses makes perfect sense. We are not making enough money to do anything. How much do we make from oil sales? And how much is being shared to unproductive states? Can you build a skyscraper with 1 million naira?
Your stance/opinion/response doesn't make sense either.

Romance › Re: Why Are Women In A Rush To Get Married? by Bifwoli: 1:02am On Nov 22, 2021
Moreign001:
Hello Guys, Good Morning and a Happy Sunday to you all.

I don't know how concise i can be, but I will try.

I just graduated last 3 months, with my girlfriend who's now my ex, and she's 26yrs of age while I'm 28yr.

We started dating from our 200level till yesterday, (that's approximately 4yrs and counting...).
We were ideal together, we were well known in school, to an extent where her friends and mine kept asking how? And wishing theirs was like ours..

She promised never to leave, and she please everyday that I should never hurt her. At times we jokingly talked about our future kids which is now a never happening fable.

So after we graduated, she travelled to stay with her aunt, we do check on each other everyday.

Last month.. She called, and said her friend needs an advice, that she and her date just graduated, and that another man is asking her out, and she's thinking of dumping her guy since he's not ready, and that the newly known man is ready to pay for her marriage rites.
Immediately I knew she was the one in the story, because I already had several dreams were she left me. I pretended, I told her to tell her friend to "Follow Her Heart".

Last night she called, and said there's something she wants to tell me, I responded, "Is it what I already know?", she asked what? I told her she's getting married soon, and she said yes! I was speechless. I asked her for how long has this been going on, she said it started when she came to stay with her Aunt. We spoke, and I congratulated her, she started crying, I ended the call, sent her a good luck text.

This morning, she called and said she couldn't sleep last night. I asked her why she did it, why she decided to get married, she said she doesn't know. I asked if she likes the guy, she said yes. She couldn't stop crying and was saying I shouldn't leave her, while she's the one leaving me. I was totally down, but I have crazy friends. I WhatsApp a friend, told him what just happened, his words boosted me up. He said, " Support her, we move, no be God leave you". That was enough, but it's hard, really hard to move on without her, and she said the same thing and kept pleading I shouldn't leave her.
Now I'm asking, if I was the one who had left, what would have been the story? That I used her and dumped her, because this has always been used against the guys.
Why are women in a rush to marry? They don't even add value to themselves, I'm now 80% in agreement that marriage is one of the greatest achievement for a woman, maybe in Nigeria.
Women have that thing called biological clock ticking fast.Did you know that big secret?

These cars are still foreign cars.

How are they different from when we had Peugeot and Volkswagen assembling plants in Nigeria?

There is not one part of the cars that Innoson manufactured himself, not even the tyres or the number plates.

We need to start manufacturing cars. We have been assembling cars since the 70s. Nothing new!!!
This is very true ,Innoson is a Chinese cars disguised as Nigerian made cars.

Its like Liberia which likes to boast of having a large fleet of commercial ships when in fact they're foreign owned but registered in Liberia just for lower tax purposes.

I just can't help myself, right since I was a little kid. I get jealous easily.

I want everything to be just me alone, I want to be the one to have money then give it out to people.

I hate it when people gives me money, it anolds me, makes me feel less.

Please how do I contain this attitude of mine.

Ps

I don't do bad.

Neither do I do evil.

I just want to be the one running everything in my family or any place I find myself.

I want to be the number one guy

I want to be the giver always
But you can't be two opposing things at the same time .Obviously it can't be "just me alone" and then you "wanna be the giver"....that says you care about others.

Africa is really very poor.

The best in Africa is Nigeria with about $500b.

Tesla is the 5th biggest company in US with a capitalization of $1.05T which means it is 2x the GDP of the best Africa has to offer.

Even Google ($1.97 Trillion) as a company is worth more than the top 10 biggest economy ($1.925 Trillion) in Africa. SMH.

So the net worth of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos equal to the GDP of Nigeria (the biggest economy in Africa).

What did you expect of a continent big on consumption but not production? What did you expect when raw material exports is the norm across the board? What did you expect of a continent where timeliness & deadlines are never given respect? What did you expect of a continent where mass disorder is the norm? What did you expect in a continent where public office = self enrichment? Africa is still poor and will stay poor because we lack seriousness in a whole lot of facets of life ,unfortunately.Nothing good comes without struggle and the few examples above depict a place where people like a laid back approach yet expect big rewards.

This year alone and amid the pandemic last year, a lot of Nigerians fled the country to better their lives in the West. Begs the question, is traveling abroad an achievement and does it mean that the person has made it? I mean if you look at all it takes to leave this country especially to Europe and the Americas. Can it be considered a success?
Going abroad is a success in itself coz it broadens your mind, gives you whole new perspectives and enriches you culturally.
