I won't totally disagree with you but I must make it clear "follow follow" as you call it isn't a Nigerian problem in this regard. You will agree with me that Nokia was the KING in the market before now. But as of today they have lost a very huge share of the market.
Sometimes, pulling resources together is the only way to survive, ego killed Nokia.
Popular brands the world over sometimes come together to achieve their aims, its called partnership. It does not necessarily mean they're selling out their identity.
Sony is a popular brand in the electronics world, Erriccson is popular for mobile transmission gadgets.
During the reign of the symbian OS, these 2brands came together and we had SonyErrricson.. they became the brand to beat. Sony brought the sound technology, erricson brought ruggedity, you can tell me the rest.
Today...Sony, LG, Samsung, and less have overtaken Nokia just by simply understanding the fact that the Android OS by Google is what is they need to remain in business and who says these other brands are not researching for other possibilities. Android is a cross platform OS, hence partnering with them isn't a bad anyway. This is the singular decision that makes the likes of Tecno,Injoo,Lenovo,Infinix e.t .c to humiliate Nokia in the market.
Finally, your point has totally been rubbished when Nokia bowed to market pressures and came out Nokia Android brands such as the Nokia X, XL and latest X-2 which is another partnership with Microsoft. If you ask me that was medicine after death. I am a fan of Nokia and I can tell you.. it will be very difficult for Nokia to dominate the market again. Times are changing bro.
