I can't believe that people are supporting this commandant! Please which law authorises a soldier to beat up an UNARMED civilian till she is paralysed just because stood up to ask a soldier a question concerning her right? This is the very reason why Nigeria is in a pit today. Your leaders and people in authority give you poo to eat and you do that willingly all in the name of'obeying the last order'. It is so sad that it is our youth that are mostly reasoning this way. Really SAD! The father of this corper should get a good human rights lawyer and sue these eeeediots. Gosh, this country has a long way to go. |

Good thread. Though we may complain at times that they don't do enough, let us remember that these men kept awake just to ensure that a civilian somewhere slept (even if it is with one with one eye closed). I HAIL THE NIGERIAN SOLDIER. Written by: Manoj Kumar A SOLDIER- I WAS Lonely I was when I stood staring at the sky Had a gun in my hand, was too afraid to cry Fought bitter battles and never lived to tell How at the altar of freedom, my body fell My soul searches for reasons as to why I died Did I save my people, had I tried? Do they remember me, my deeds, my name Are they proud of me or did I bring them shame My battered body stood testimony to my fate My heart had stopped in a battle brought about by hate I had screamed in pain, and shivered with fright But before I died, I did put up a fight Remember me, my beloved country It was I, my men, who brought you victory I fought to the last bullet in my gun I was a soldier, I was your son

Good, he should also ban the use of loud speakers early in the morning and at night by any religion(christian, Muslim, traditional or whatever) that believes that God only hears them when they scream/shout into microphones and megaphones! . I mean, we should all try to respect others and ourselves in this country. |

She is not the only rude one in that station. Many of them cut off the phone on callers to the programes indiscriminately. I agree that some callers can be annoying but people that interact with the public have to learn to manage all manner of people and show professionalism; ask Chaz B or Wana wana. Some of the presenters are still good though. I preferred this lady when she was with Wazobia FM. Now, she sounds funny (don't know if the right word is fake really). But just take a cue from moi, if any of them starts annoying you, just switch to something else. Works for me all the time, I tell ya . |
We had that TV o. We use to slap it too when it misbehaved. Now it is a museum piece. LOL . Una no remember Soul Train? Thread brings back lovely memories. |
In a country where people are negotiating to grant senseless killers amnesty, Alams granted presidential pardon, pen robbers in government are allowed to run wild! It all makes sense!!! . So long as there are people perceived to be "sacred cows", such judgements make no sense. |
patriot4: If I were to create a militant organisation, then it is politicians I will target, no soldier, no civilian, just corrupt politicians like GEJ, and of course terrorist boko haram and their sponsors. You wont get such because the militants we have are only interested in money, money and more money. ![]() |

No More Cancellation Of Sanitation Exercise For WASCE, UTME print The Lagos State Government says it would no longer cancel the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for national examinations, such as the West African School Certificate Examination, WASCE, the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, and others. The government said it would no longer succumb to any form of blackmail from agencies of government at the federal, state or local government levels requesting for the lifting of order on restriction of movement, during its monthly environmental sanitation exercise. Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello disclosed this during inspection of ongoing environmental projects in Lagos, southwest Nigeria. He also advised examination bodies both at local, national and international levels to desist from fixing local or national examinations like General Certificate Examination, GCE, National Examination Council, NECO and WASCE on any last Saturday of the month as the state government would no longer accommodate future requests. According to Bello, “event planners, and planning officers at various levels of government should not fix national, state or local government events on any of the last Saturdays of the month, as the Lagos State Government will no longer entertain such request.” He added that Lagos, as Africa’s fastest growing mega city, could not afford to toy with the issue of sanitation as the population of the state has continued to increase in leaps and bounds, and as such cleaning of all the nooks and crannies of the state must be done at all times. The commissioner warned that the laws of the land was no respecter of persons and as such individuals, groups, corporate organizations and governments at all levels should ensure that the last Saturday of every month is kept free from engagements between 7.00am and 10.00am in order to allow citizens full participation in the state-wide exercise. ... —Kazeem Ugbodaga http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/04/10/no-more-cancellation-of-sanitation-exercise-for-wasce-utme/ |
I am of the opinion that these people are afraid. After the ghost BH has said that they are not interested in any negotiation with government, they are still advocating for amnesty for terrorists. How many times have they condemned the acts of BH in the past? Do they care about the hundreds of people that they have killed so far? How many times have they and the government discussed how the survivors and relatives of the dead from their attacks should be compensated? Or is it the case that they are afraid that soon these people will start talking and they will start naming their sponsors which might include them? I don't blame them though. I blame the government that is interested in negotiating with terrorists. And yes, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. If you want to grant amnesty to terrorists, kindly do same for all the prisoners in the country -kidnappers, paedophiles, armed robbers etc. In fact allow them to rule this country too! RUBBISH! |
