They shld sends the. Circular of the. Ban to all nation's. That if a graduates ayeas of gradaution from a Nigerian federal government and state government skl doesn't show over 5-7 years after graduating.. they musnt be employed.. lest thier will b a bilateral fracas btw the. Two countries...

Yes, I know that only too well.

But the truth is, either we pay for quality education, or we don't and we stop complaining about how bad universities are.

And anyway, school isn't where all the learning is done. Maybe as technology improves, the way we do education may change, and we won't neccesarily need a university per se...and a lot of things might get cheaper to do.

Very fast quaranteed good education can also b gotten from private varsities... Let the average to the rich people use them...

For these govt owned institutions, it need be subsidized lest we compound our already too much problems

Why do we hear students owing hundreds of thousands of dollars as educational/students loan that must be paid back after graduation in so called developed countries? Maybe u dont know. standard University management is very expensive, that is very reason realistically Tuition fees are expensive.

It is not compulsory for the goverment to shoulder responsibility of University education if they are not realistically financially capable. what ia important is maintaining and ensuring a good standard. What is the point in having thousands of poorly educated graduates who cannot defend their certificate yearly. graduates who only went to school to earn a degree for "degree sake" . and who has no point being in the university in the first place.

They can only gve scholarship to high flying students who have distinguished themselves and who the goverment is sure will be an asset ro the nation.

it is high time we face reality.

Nobody said varsity education is cheap anywhere in the world... If u research, u wwill notice government varsities still exist in large number even in the US... That cuz government dou still wouldn't pay for ur tuition feez but they realized cheap education will heal the land of vices that come from non educated populace

Yes, and what I have outlined is one of them....privatization and taxation.

We don't have enough money, and the stealing that happens worsens the matter. We need money...and allowing autonomy and raised fees is the way forward.

We can pay for needy students by a combination of grants and loans...or we do as the Danes do and government takes half your earnings to pay for uni education.

Who told you university is cheap.? All those nice universities you see abroad...they are paid for by taxing everyone in sight...or by high fees.

Hahaha.... Honestly it's expensive.. but government here can't tax the people cuz they are too poor

The demand and supply of local and. International currencies can be created also by by nation's that sell services more than goods.. example Cuba.. Cuba rent out alot of doctors to pandemic prone countries and reap large foreign currencies...

Switzerland using the secrecy banking system has attracted a whole lots of foreign capital capital to thier land eveen without exchanging goods....

So what we need do in general is create needs for supply of foreign currency into Naija at all cost....

Yes, so either government taxes everyone in Nigeria to pay for quality educaiton, as they do in sane countries...at a high rate of half yer salary, or government allows high fees, and pays only for the poorest of the poor to get quality education.

Not just those.. there are sound economic solutions to the crises.... Not just privatization or autonomization if there is a word like that

The. Money doesn't have. To come from anywhere... The government only needs to fight inflation aand declining exchange rate values....

If the naira becomes stronger again.. prices of stuffs Weill fall aand ASUU won't demand salary increase...

The only way to solve this strike issue is for government to allow universities to be autonomous and to set fees as high as they want to.

That way they can make enough money to pay lecturers what they want and to pay for any new facilities, and equipment and suchlike.

Also, at the end of the day, we need more money in things like tetfund

Government has a fundamental duty to secure her people, educate her ppl, guide the health of her ppl, among others...

So if it goes quite high, the ppl will b mostly illiterate and human capacity will reduce and den economy will crumble
