The story is the other way round in Osun, our governor, who arrived at Lagos from Saudi at mid night, rush down to Osun to pray with us. He was warmly welcome. I was surprised, despite the fact that he's demonising illegal structure, I expected people to be illiterate of it. But they seems to understand as they welcome him with joy. After prayer, the governor stood up in his Jeep while it moves slowly,, just to greet people round the town for salah. Aregbe ti won pa

Anyway, I was also a student, the school is very interesting, though we faced many challenges as pioneering students, but at last we graduated this year 2013. And the certificates were issued on the graduation day. The first school to do that in Nigeria is NOUN. The fear of certificate would not be recognised is gone. A friend got job at a private firm with her certificate. Though, I still have issues with mine, they are yet to release my cert because they misplaced my project score sheet as at the point of compilation of graduating students, I was not listed for graduation. That's one of those things...it happens in conventional schools also, I had similar experience in FEDPOFFA. But I am happy to see my colleagues holding their certs. It renewed my hope of holding mine also one day. The fact is that, if not for the delay, I would have gotten promotion with the same cert at my place of work (govt job). I have already written them, they are very much ready to accept certificate from a National University. The population of the school keeps growing every year due to mass failure in jamb, you don't need jamb to enter NOUN. I heard the total number of admitted students in 2012 to just Lagos study centre alone was 34,000, the school need to provide more facilities though. They used to ask the young students "what are you doing in school that was meant for old people like Baba Iyabo?" But the point is that the school has been overtaken by the "YOUNG SHALL GROWs". Here in Osogbo study centre, they have different social groups like football, dancing etc. The old students (commonly in law and nursing classes) are now feeling odds. NOUN is good! Work and Learn!!

Health / Re: Have You Ever Donated Or Received Blood? by BigStar1(m): 11:41am On Jul 09, 2013
Yes I donated two months ago when my Sister delivered through CS at Lautech, Osogbo, state of Osun. But what I don't understand is that. When they told us that we would need blood for her, we were directed to blood bank where we paid N5, 250 for 50cl sachet of blood. It's just like pure water sachet. We thought that was all, but on the day they discharged us, they said we are giving the blood back. I was surprised "but we paid?" Until we donated blood ooo and we didn't get the money back. They don't use your blood for your relatives.

But I was happy to hear that I was fit to donate blood after test. Signs of healthiness right? because her husband was said not fit after the same test. Also, I indirectly know my HIV status on that day, though I have done it before. But another confirmation. Abi, would they have collected my blood if I get HIV?

I know someone would quote my text and reply me, but I may not be aware of that because I can't be reading all what people post. Moderators, can you please add notification this forum, not only topic change notification like we get at times. But also when they quote and reply me. Thanks.

Webmasters / What's Your Experience With Godaddy Hosting? by BigStar1(m): 10:01am On Jul 04, 2013
Hello "The Gurus",
We are currently hosting our bulk sms website, leading sms website in Nigeria, www.smsparo.com on a server.
To say the fact, the server has been serving the company very well, it doesn't Bleep up. But we thought of migrating to godaddy 1.) because the server's price is too high and we are running on low disk space on it. 2). Godaddy has some interesting features that it doesn't have.
But, we want to know your experience with godaddy especially with Content Management Systems like Joomla!.
We read from a thread http://support.godaddy.com/groups/web-hosting/forum/topic/joomla-slow-on-godaddy-hosting/?pc_split_value=3 that it was slow a year ago. But do you know if there has been improvements?
Thanks

Politics / Before You Rate FG, Things You Need To Remember by BigStar1(m): 2:47pm On Jul 01, 2013
The following are the promises made by Mr. President in 2011 when he was campaigning. Mr. President, I be i lie?
1. You Promised to rule for only one term (reference http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12339017)
I was hoping you will not come out and openly deny you didn’t make such promise or statements as you did about the zoning saga. But you did by actions
2. You promised a constitutional role for Traditional Rulers!!! How far?
3. On March 17th 2011, in Dutse the Jigawa state capital, you promised:"If I win the election, within my four years in office, I will establish domestic airports in all the states without airports. Done?
4. In Nasarawa, at the flagoff of your campaign you promised at least a university in every state including building specialist almajiri schools to shore up education in the North so as to eradicate illiteracy. Pass or Fail?
5. On February 8th in Ibadan, the day you called some people "rascals", you promised to create jobs and improve the power sector. Any show?
6. On Feb 9th, you were in Bauchi and you promised to intensify oil and gas exploration in the North-East as part of efforts to harness resources for economic development. Also you pledged to boost agriculture, power and water supply for wealth creation and revenue generation. Then you assured that projects such as the Mambilla hydro-electricity, Jada irrigation project and Kafin Zaki dam in Taraba, Adamawa and Bauchi would be pursued to boost agriculture and industrial development. Then you promised that your administration would establish two universities in the region. Wetin you score?
9. You landed in Port harcourt on Feb 12 where you made alot of promises, maybe to woo your Niger Delta people. Be that as it may, you announced that the NNPC, in partnership with the private sector, would establish a petrochemical plant in the Niger Delta (you didn’t state where exactly). You promised the plant will create job opportunities for the Niger Delta youths. Then you went ahead to promise the implementation of Local Content Law and Petroleum Industry Bill. In case you can’t remember when you made all these, cast your mind back to the stampede that claimed some lives (where your wife called them martyrs). Any hope?
10. In Kaduna- You promised massive transformation of the agricultural sector through construction of large dams and distribution of one million metric tonnes of fertilizers for the 2011 farming season (The rains are here already, so fulfill your promises o)
You also pledged to establish Almajiri model schools to address the challenges of the Almajiris. Fulfilled?
11. In Benue-You promised to revolutionize agriculture and establish industries in the country through a five-year plan. Started yet?
You also promised to complete the irrigation project in Otukpo. Then you promised that the second Niger Bridge and the Benue Bridge projects will be worked on in the next four years.
12. February 17th, you were in Plateau where you made shocked the entire country with amazing promises. First of all, you pledged to refocus on the solid mineral development of the state and make it one of the key revenue sources in Nigeria. The Plateau people are banking on you.
Mr President, You promised to build more dams and complete ongoing ones, so as to boost agricultural growth.

In addtion you promised to complete the Vom-Manchok-Jos road to boost economic links between Plateau and Kaduna states. You left the state and the Plateau people have been happy ever since. Remember them yet?
13. Mr President on Feb 21, you were in Kogi. You promised among other things promised that the dredging of the River Niger and Lokoja-Abuja road dualisation would be completed very soon. Abi you forget ni?
14. In Kwara State on Feb22, you pledged that the irrigation project in Shonga would be completed soon to boost the commercial farming activities of the New Nigeria Farmers in the area. Mr president, remember you also said the Jebba-Mokwa road and Jebba bridge would be given adequate attention to ease transportation in the area. Any news?
15. On February 24, Mr. President, you pledged to rehabilitate ALL ailing industries in Aba. I believe all Abians are hoping on you to provide the enabling environment to do their businesses, would you keep your promises?
16. Mr.President, on Feb 25th in Anamabra you said there is a plan to build a power station in the state, assuring that within the next four years your administration would construct and rehabilitate ALL federal roads leading to Anambra as well as the South East. You equally to provide potable water to the densely populated Onitsha and Nnewi cities and tackle erosion in the South-East. What's you mark on that?
17. In Ebonyi state, you promised to dualise the Enugu-Abakaliki federal highway in addition to establishing a secretariat for ALL Federal government's agencies and parastatals in Ebonyi. I hope you have done that already?
18. In Niger state, you promised the more power generation. Perhaps the most important aspect of your promises is that your government would map out a five-year strategic plan for road projects. Planned or Done yet?
19. On Feb 27, you were in Asaba, the Delta state capital. On that fateful Sunday, you revealed that “The NNPC is developing a new programme that will absorb about 5,000 youths. How far?
20. On March 2nd, you were in Ondo where you promised that roads and other basic infrastructure across the states will be developed in four years. In addition you also promised the exploitation of the vast bitumen deposits in the state for national economic development and employment generation. Any workdone yet?
21. On the same day, March 2nd, your campaign train was in Ekiti state. While there, you promised that more than N50 billion federal intervention projects were ongoing in the state. I wonder if you would remember this?
22. On March 9th, in Sokoto, you promised to rehabilitate the abandoned Shagari irrigation project as well as reviving the nation’s rail system and fight the menace of desertification in the country. Just in case you forgot?
23.The date was March 12th 2011 and you were in Ogun state.
Remember, the day you rode to Abeokuta through rail?

Yes, That was the day you promised an improved power supply before the end of the year through the Integrated Power Project (IPP) initiative.

You also pledged to build more refineries, encourage downstream activities, resuscitate rail transportation and create jobs. In case you have forgotten, that was the day that Gbenga Daniel (your South West campaign coordinator was booed by the Ogun people). You remember now?
24.On March 14th, your campaign trained moved to Kebbi where you promised to establish a federal university in 2012. You also promised to create jobs through science and technology, tackle environmental challenges and boost health care delivery. Yepa!
25.Katsina, was your port of call on March 15 where you promised to enhance the living standard of Nigerians through implementation of people-oriented programmes that would provide citizens the necessary opportunities to realise their potentials.

In my opinion, this was just mere rhetoric as you did not make any concrete promises. O gbe won mon ra...
26.In Kano, you pledged to resuscitate the nation’s power sector and encourage the development of small and medium scale enterprises in the country while ensuring justice, equity and fair play in the polity. Hmmmm.

So, Nigerian and Nairalanders, how would you rate the FG?

Dual Core: I clicked the link you provided and it prompted me to download smsparo.apk. After download I opened it and it gave me the option of opening it with the Package Installer, among others.

I do not want to install your application so I didn't go past that point. As far as I went, I didn't see any zip or jargon.

Device: Galaxy Tab

This sounds great! I have been trying this on my Samsung Galaxy Ace, it doesn't work that way. Ok then, maybe I will create link for other apps and wait for users response. Thanks for taking your time to test it for me. Maybe I will try it on another phone. Dual-Core, you are great! Share your mobile number with me. Thanks

They complained about demolition of illegal structures by Aregbe's administration....

Webmasters / Re: FG Finally Launches Online Portal by BigStar1(m): 11:11am On Apr 17, 2013
Novak: Federal Government Finally Launches Online Portal

Determined to enthrone transparency and make governance more effective, the Federal Government yesterday launched a government services portal www.services.gov.ng as part of the initiatives for ‘’getting government online.’’

Minister of Communications Technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson, who launched the portal in Abuja, said it was in line with the mandate to deploy ICT to drive transparency in governance and improve the quality of public service delivery.

In a statement, the Special Adviser on Media to the Minister, Mrs Efem Nkanga, quoted Mrs Johnson as saying the benefits of the portal are many, adding that the portal can be assessed in English, French and Spanish.

She added that it is one of the flagship projects of the Ministry aimed at enabling Nigerians to access government services.

She said the project is in line with the outcome of the survey which the United Nations carried out on Innovative E-Government Practices among nations, adding that the result of the survey showed that citizen service delivery is topmost on the government innovative technology adoption, all over the world.

Thus, governments’ use of the Internet to deliver government services has revolutionised the speed and effectiveness of government service delivery and public administration across the world, she said.

Mrs Johnson emphasised that governments recognise that e-government offers, not just a new technology, but also a mechanism of transforming the way the government operates.
She gave examples of nations that have taken this route of creating government service portal to include the United States, Britain, Canada, India, Singapore, South Africa and Kenya.

What are we saying? The site is redirecting to https://swp.com.ng/ which shows nothing. Up nigeria! Good People, Great Nation, Great Portal!
