Ikenna351: The hard shifting started because you probably put non fully synthetic manual gearbox oil in.

Peugeot recommended TOTAL 75W-80 for that box. But you won't find that oil grade in Nigeria, rather, TOTAL 85W-90, which is the closest. When you use the TOTAL 85W-90, the transmission will still work well, but the gear lever will become hard to shift into gears, especially 1,2 & 3. But with the recommended fluid, the shifting becomes very smooth.
