geosegun: I respect the way you responded and it really showed you are now mature and understand that one way or the other one has goofed ignorantly in the past.

Now YOU NEED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT by organizing scholarship for indigent students may be Secondary school or university students. From the way I perceived things, you are likely doing well in your career now.

That's the only way you can right the wrong not just apology on NL.
It's something I have plans for and would definitely do, just been procrastinating, I was a good student and probably without the awards I would have gone through hell then or God forbid dropped out or something worse.
Bigx, I respect you and appreciate how you've penned out your thoughts. You must be a responsible and upwardly mobile young man.

I must bring something to your notice however: you were fraudulent as an undergraduate student and you have the temerity to state it in public as you have just done here.

The awards clearly contained the proviso that applicants who were on a previous scholarship shouldn't apply! You were as greedy as to apply and boast about taking 3 extra ones - robbing a potential 3 other indigent students out there of the opportunity.

He who comes to Equity must come with clean hands. Fraud of this kind, irrespective of how minimal you consider the effect of your actions then, is akin to what the national politicians you (or all of us) daily criticise also do. I'm not condemning you but what you exemplified therein was greed - plain and simple.

These things are the bane of this country. We are as bad as the leaders we criticise. We need a paradigm shift! How can a man gloat about fraud on the most popular nigerian social network? He claims he passed the exams. Is he alluding he was the only one who could have passed those 4 exams and qualified for the scholarships?

Until the day we are intent on honesty and forthrighness, this country would remain as it is - for the corrupt and depraved. The just however, shall soar in Goshen's abundance.

Nobody does what U just described above in America. The developed countries have a social outlook that abhors subterfuge of all forms. It is enough to bag jail terms in their country. Such person would also make a refund of such monies.

We seat down criticising Jonathan and Obasanjo daily - yet we rob ourselves in the various manners we can. Birds of the same feather we all are?

Change is needed - and it begins with each man, each individual.

I'll end with that popular quote from the ancient Mosaic book of Chronicles:

'If my people would acknowledge their sinfulness, humble themselves, turn away from them and call on me, I would heal their land...'

What God has bless us with in Nigeria is more than enough to go round. Ole ati okanjuwa lon pa gbogbo wa, nobody excluded - because when the majority of us are involved, nobody must claim to be in the good minority - which indeed exists however.

We must together decide to pick ourselves up from this depraved moral cesspool we've descended into as a people - or we'll soon be eating ourselves raw.

God bless Nigeria.
It was wrong, I admit and there was an element of greed too but Only my mum put all 4 of us through school then and not having to depend on her reduced the load and did a lot of good to my conscience ( not trying to defend or justify it though)

I just mentioned it to illustrate that if you are dedicated and work hard and smart and seek and take action on opportunities you can achieve anything you want even in Nigeria. The attitude of the poster who I replied is the reason a lot of Nigerians remain in poverty. They give up early and either stop trying or refuse to try at all.

I admire the way you put your points forward and if my actions in the past hurt anyone, I apologize for that, I was young, reckless and didnt know better.

Savant: I don't mean to be a killjoy in part every statement made by everyone makes sense but @Bigx lied. For sure.

For example Shell and Mobil always write their aptitude test on the same day to prevent people from getting both. I know because I was shortlisted for both and I had to write only one. Except you meant that you tried to apply to Mobil again at your 200l and in that case that would have meant a new ID and admission letter because the scholarship is for 100L students. Only NLNG can be applied for at a later level up to even 300L. In any case I just thought to add. . .

PTDF is a mixture of both connection and intelligence especially at undergraduate level. One doesn't really need to be exceptionally brilliant to get it sef. Exploiting the time and chance is all that matters.

If I hear say Uduaghan and Amaechi no influence some names for the list make I no why.
Do you want to add me let's skype as I said before? What year did you write?
What's the point lying?

It was not legal getting all (written in the award letter and co) but I passed the aptitude tests and I got them, who was I to reject?

Add me I'd show you the award emails via skype if you want

alienvirus: Such scholarship will never get to the less privileged in the society.
I was less privileged when I was in university and I got Total, Shell, NLNG and Mobil scholarships.

I didn't apply for ptdf because I'd passed 1st year when it started but I know people too who were "less privileged" who had this same ptdf in uni then from all over nigeria.

They where all hardworkers and excelled in their studies.

Quit this attitude and work hard, you would be able to achieve whatever you want

rman: The problem with your last sentence is you conveniently found a way to blame men for wives that cheat.
Are you indirectly saying all unfaithfulness in marriage is due to men? The problem I have with your points so far is you see men as the problem, then tactfully, you want the society to punish them so u can be happy. Your happiness is in your hands.

Oprah's effort all these years through her show has gone down the drain, women are just not ready to be independent or can't be independent. They can't leave men alone. They naturally believe we owe them something.
Typically, OP refuses to see that she's wrong. She'd grasp at anything at the moment to "prove her point" rather than admit she's wrong.

Go to our courts, How many of
the divorce cases daily are brought by "male unfaithfulness"? So women cheat only when men are unfaithful? That's what she's trying to project with her last post, women are saints men are wizards.

I doubt she'd get any sympathy with that attitude.

All said I learnt long ago never to try to argue logically with a woman.
Ok, now that you have let the world know that you are "chopping" foreign currency. give yourself a round of applause and go and sit ur butt down in a corner. bye huh

this topic is about people who are suffering in Nigeria. not for politician's kids.
You are the one who made my profile picture a topic for discussion

It was where it was before you brought it here, I explained it's meaning and you feel bad already? Eh ya..

I don't know any politician not to talk of being one's child, I'm a business person and I made my money in the Nigeria you say 99% of people are running from,

You failed in Nigeria doesn't mean everyone is a failure, stop projecting negativity.
FamilyRe: Divorce And The Suffering Of The Nigerian Women! by bigx(m): 5:49am On Jan 07, 2014
rman: Only very few women, and I mean, very few, can reason logically. The society didn't place women at a disadvantage position, women did. Ever wonder why the educated and employed ones still depend on men?

It is the duty of all parents, to raise girl child right. All these warped logic is due to years of girls been raised with a ridiculous sense of entitlement. All the women emancipation stuff is not really about gender equality, it is about getting more out of men by doing nothing just because you are a lady. In fact, I'm beginning to suspect ladies love for marriage isn't about love and family, it is about stability in her life. The only guaranteed source of livelihood women see always has something to do with husbands. I have met single girls with good income still searching for guys that will take care of them. Can't u take care of yourself and simply narrow your search to men that won't take advantage of you?

After divorce, a woman deserves compensation, IMO , only under these circumstances :

- They both built a joint business together during marriage.
- The man truncated her career or business by making her a full house wife.
- if she has custody of the kids.

Anything outside those three conditions is a complete fraud and shouldn't be encouraged.
Sit among young single girls, get close to them so they converse openly and confirm your suspicions.

Quoting one verbatim; "make I find one rich man marry make all my problems end"
good for you. when I said "politician" I am generally referred to the priviledged class that travel in and out of Nigeria as they see fit. These are the same people who tend to speak for other nigerians and pretend that all other nigerians are just as happy to be in Nigeria. and things are fine and dandy. why do you have those visas? why not tear them up if you have no intentions of ever leaving Nigeria?
tear those visas up. simple

I just looked at your profile and you seem to contradict yourself. your profile picture (of foreign currency being shown off on a platter) contradicts what you say in this post. same with your location. unless birmingham is some village in Nigeria that I don't know about.
Location reads Ph/birmingham/lagos

Selective vision

Foreign currency on a platter means "chopping" foreign currency, nothing wrong with that last time I checked.

When I mean "leave", I mean "settle" like a 2nd class citizen, there's a big difference.
well, that's why I said 99%
the other 1%, who refuse opportunity to go abroad, more grease to their elbow. I have never heard of such a case sha.

did you get an opportunity to go abroad that you rejected? if not, then you do not count as part of the 1%. you just never got the opportunity. let's keep it at that smiley
I'm not a Politician as you stated earlier, I've a valid US, UK and Schenghen visa and I have NO intentions of leaving Nigeria.

You shouldn't generalise, not everyone sees "abroad" as the end to all issues

spokesboy: By February, those selling off will discover that they're the losers. They may end up buying back at #40 or even #50.
The COP's deal which is technically a done deal will be sealed end of January and this will see Oando becoming the largest indigenous oil firm in Nigeria. The currently have an EPS of around 7 which makes it a good bargain at current prices below #40.
If you know what's good for you in the New Year 2014 or you're looking for an easy means to amass wealth this year - buy Oando as part of your wealth strategies
Do you have the financial numbers for the COP deal?
