When I support GEJ! I do it because my ultimate selfless interest is for the country to get better.......for example when I read a news of GEJ saying he has done so and so,like a Road or water project, without verifying d claim, I immediately wish its true because I know if it is, u and I(citizens) will benefit whether u are pro gej or not I also do this for fashola or aregbesola etc .....this shows genuine good interest for the country

But selfish critics like eko ile demdem nd co will when they read a story like that, immediately wishes and pray its not true and goes ahead to make sure it is not.....it shows dat person is not criticizing GEJ because he wants d country to be better but because he hates the man and selfishly supporting those dat are seeking to get in power.

A statement issued in Abuja by Brigadier General Chris Olukolade, Director of Defence Information, disclosed that troops deployed to Borno and Yobe have captured some notorious leaders Boko Haram, and recovered various weapons

Their names were however not revealed. But independent investigations confirm that Momodu Bama a member of the Boko Haram Shura Council was amongst those arrested.

This Civilian JTF is really doing a revolution movement here.....I think they should be called to abuja after there is substantial victory and given awards and monetary compensation! Those guys are really brave warriors....I just hope one day they can sniff out shekua hiding in one of the residential houses in Maiduguri....They will just make my day if they can pull off that.
PoliticsCaptured Boko-Haram Member Confesses To Killing 23 People In Two Days by billante(op): 1:46pm On Jun 26, 2013
An arrested member of the Boko Haram militant, shocked the people of Ngomari ward ‘Bakin Borehole’ in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, when he confessed killing 23 people in two days, while also slaughtering a village head and police officers in the area.

The Boko Haram member who was arrested on Tuesday evening in the area was said to have relocated about a year ago and hired a room apartment in a house where he lived as one of the innocent Borno citizens who had runaway from the troubled zone for safety.

A resident of Ngomari who pleaded not to be mentioned told DailyPost on Wednesday in Maiduguri that, the sect member was arrested wearing a jeans trouser and vest at the borehole when he went out to fetch water.

According to him, the militant who was arrested by ‘Civilian JTF’ was a resident of Gwange and his arrest was made possible when the vigilante youth went looking for him and arrested his younger brother who took them to Ngomari where his brother, the sect member now lives.

“We were shocked when we heard that, civilian JTF came and arrested a sect member in our area. We have never imagined we could have somebody like that in our area because we have been living peacefully. We were the most shocked when the sect member confessed that he killed 23 people in two days. That is horrible and unimaginable, but a reality.” He said.

He also said that, while the youth group were beating the arrested sect member, they also asked him of one Idris Musa, whom he told them was living in Ndollari a suburb of Ngomari.

Meanwhile, the ‘Civilian JTF’ was seen today, Wednesday, in front of the ANPP State Chairman’s house in Maiduguri at about 7:15am, barely 24 hours after it was reported that, the youth group were hunting for the politician for allegedly sponsoring terrorism in the state.

Now nothing!

But It is a place that can have refinery, power plant, airport, petrochemical plant and all kinds of industries.....The Gas to fire all these industries are lying beneath them....cheap land is also abundant there unlike already saturated onitsha and nnewi
PoliticsRe: State Peer Review Mechanism: Anambra In Focus by billante(m): 4:28pm On Jun 22, 2013
An unbiased report there! with no political or ethnically tone in it at all

from the report peter obi score card is 45/100!

we need someone that can take us to at least 70/100......i cant believe that anambra IGR is a pitiable 500 million a month with the amount of businesses going on there shocked That's unacceptable!

Aguleri otuocha area alone if maximized should be raking in 2 billion per month not to talk of onitsha and nnewi industries and businesses.

KenGali: Note:
One of the major instruments of equitable income distribution in South East Nigeria is small scale trading.
I too like the idea of Departmental stores and Praise Obi for what he is trying to do, but lets not be lost to its implication.
We are inviting Shopright from South Africa to take over our local commerce business as if it is an achievement.

Mind you that after some time such stores will become the cheapest sellers, and will drive away a lot of small scale traders ( just like ASDA, TESCO, etc in UK). That is Unemployment and capital loss waiting to happen. Such stores if big enough can negatively affect farmers of fresh products like milk, vegetables. We need to look at the long run, what will be their position in the next 15 to 20 years. Such stores must be greatly localised, because as their luxury value wears off, they will swallow up open markets in their vicinity.

Please we should change strategies. I believe what we want are efficient Malls or Departmental Stores, not just Shopright. I suggest that government craft policies that will force market traders into co-operatives that will establish and market their own brand of Departmental Stores or Malls. 2 or 3 of them competing across the state and eventually extending to other states. They can compete with Shopright and the rest. A situation were the Govt. is using tax payers resources to import and aid a departmental store is not healthy. At the very least, they should go into partnership with local traders' co-operative.
Commerce is very important to Anambra state, lets not shoot ourselves in the foot! Please Beware!
You prefer to be buying your everyday needs in gutter infested environments abi?

Mind you shoprite is just going to be a tenant in the ongoing shopping mall, lots of other shops will be available for other tenants....nothing stops a main market trader to go there and take up a space for his business and compete.

The park road he is dualizing is not up to 1km, about 300 meters so the 300 million is the right sum!

If he quotes billions now as the contract cost, you Nigerians will be the first to yell corruption! can you guys ever be satisfiedhuh

CelebritiesWizkid And His Many Cars by billante(op):
Wizkid and his Many cars.

Wizkid has acquired more than four cars in the last 2 years of his remarkable career.
Recently, Wizzy added a N14.6million Porsche Panamera S luxurious automobile to his fleet of cars. This, he made public when he posted photos of the car on picture sharing website, Instagram with the caption, ‘My new baby’.
Our first knowledge of his car purchase was in 2011-a black Honda Accord i-VTEC which was later snatched by robbers in March of that same year. Soon afterwards in September, the youngster quickly took delivery of a N6million blue Volkswagen convertible.

In July of the following year, his exploits at the 2012 Headies Awards saw him taking home the award for the ‘Next Rated’ category which included a prize of an automobile; a 2012 model Hyundai Sonata. He also added another eye popping BMW X6 to his collection.

It has become the belief of most entertainers that owning exotic cars actually ups their status in the eyes of their fans and possibly increasing their worth with brands that would likely hire their services or affiliate with them.

Like the title of his debut album ‘Superstar’, Wizkid has risen steadily to become one of Nigeria’s richest entertainers, grossing between N3million to N6million per show, depending on the details.
Earlier on in the year, the 23-year old singer acquired an expensive property in a choice area of Lekki, Lagos, reportedly worth over N140m. Let’s not forget, he’s enjoying a sweet endorsement deal with Pepsi and we have confirmed that he's also signed with telecoms company, MTN...

InvestmentNSE Market Capitalisation Hits 2008 Peak by billante(op):
A three-day rally by the bulls saw the market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) hit its 2008 peak of N12.6 trillion yesterday just as year-to-date growth of the NSE All-Share Index stood at 40.5 per cent.

Dangote Cement Plc, which accounts for 28 per cent of the NSE capitalisation, was a major driver of the growth that pushed the market to its pre-meltdown level.

Since the resumption of trading this week, shares have remained on the upswing following renewed demand by institutional investors who have found blue chip stocks irresistible.

Trading had resumed on Monday with a marginal growth of 0.07 per cent, which improved to a growth of 1.7 per cent on Tuesday. The bulls consolidated their hold on the market Wednesday with the NSE All-Share Index jumping by 2.5 per cent to close at 39,453.23.

Market capitalisation gained N309 billion to close at N12.605 trillion, the peak of 2008 boom days. Although many blue chips have been witnessing growth in the past few days, an analysis of the growth indicated that Dangote Cement was the major driver.

For instance, yesterday when the market gained N309 billion to hit N12.6 trillion, Dangote Cement accounted for N233 billion or 75 per cent. The stock recorded the highest price gain of N13.74 to close at N210 per share.

Market operators said demand for the shares of companies in the Dangote Group increased since the announcement that Aliko Dangote remained the richest man in Africa and has climbed to the position of 25th richest man in the world.

Apart from Dangote Cement that led the price gainers yesterday, the remaining three firms in the Dangote Group, namely, Dangote Sugar Refinery, Dangote Flour Mills Plc and National Salt Company of Nigeria Plc, also appreciated in prices.

In all, 39 stocks appreciated in value compared with 24 that depreciated. Volume and value of trading also witnessed growth as investors traded 442.892 million shares valued at N5.575 billion exchanged in 6,595 deals, up from 347.134 million shares valued at N4.745 billion traded the previous day.
