Dr. Dre’s Beats By Dre marketing company has been in a little bit of hot water with the International Olympic Committee. Despite strict IOC rules regarding any non-rights holder advertising around the Olympics, Dr. Dre’s designer headphone company has taken aim at Great Britain athletes without the knowledge of the British Olympic Association. Olympic heroes Michael Phelps, Sun Yang, Jack Butland and Tom Daley had been seen wearing headphones prior to their contests, exposing the good doctor’s brand of headphones to the worldwide audience. Rule 40 in the Olympic charter strictly forbids athletes from promoting their personal sponsors on social media during the Games

When I say blueprint! I mean concrete and laid out plans and also how to achieve it! Not I will build an airport or rail line if elected, when u have not said how u will get d money to build it! We have to come to a time dat we should demand for their manifestos and projects they said they will do when elected and time it will be completed so that during their tenure if they said they will construct a five lane road at nnewi within 2yrs and by 2yrs d road is no where to been seen! Someone can raise a motion for impeachment...or d gov should jejeli resign! All those ngige, soludo, dora, andy uba, ifeanyi uba,etc should start showing us their laid out plans now....I think I should start a thread on dis! State oil company Nigerian National Petroleum Corp and a local company bought an onshore oil block operated Royal Dutch Shell on Tuesday, NNPC said in a statement. The OML 34 is amongst three onshore blocks that the Anglo-Dutch major has been trying to divest this year as part of a rejig of its portfolio in Nigeria. NNPC said it and a company called ND Western will now run the oil block, saying in the statement that it is "a major milestone in the oil and gas sector". "The taking over of Oil Mining Lease (OML) 34 by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and ND Western (is) part of measures to grow the in-country upstream capacity of the petroleum industry," the statement said. NNPC takes 55 percent and ND Western 45 percent of the block from Shell Petroleum Development Corporation, a Shell-run joint between NNPC, with 55 percent; Shell, with 30 percent; EPNL, with 10 percent; and Agip, with 5 percent. Shell officials were not immediately available for comment. Shell has been winding down some of its onshore operations to focus on offshore and deepwater drilling. The sales follow similar divestments over the past two years. The company said last month it was seeking buyers for OMLs 30, 34 and 40. Shell's onshore facilities are plagued with problems such as militancy and rampant oil theft, although the firm says such problems have not influenced its divestment plans. Last year Shell sold its 30 percent stake in Nigerian onshore oil block OML 42 to local consortium Neconde Energy - which includes Nestoil Group, Aries E&P Company Limited, VP Global and Poland's Kulczyk Oil Ventures - for $390 million. In the same year, it divested its 30 percent stake in block OML 26 to First Hydrocarbon Nigeria (FHN), which is part-owned by Afren, for $98 million. Nigeria's government has a policy of boosting local participation in the oil industry, although critics say NNPC lacks the funds to invest sufficiently in its own assets. The statement said the sale of the block "would give indigenous companies ... the impetus to become an active player in the ... oil and gas sector." Da infamous: DIFFERENT IS CLEARyou are very stupid....you think there are no ghettos and slum in those countries! off all the pics of nigeria, this d one u could produce! SMH! you said saudi arabia has air condition bus stops! if that is done in Nigeria, u will be d first person to say it is misplaced priority...am sure u follow condemn when the news came up dat ogun state gov wants to build air condition pedestrian bridges....keep showing d bad side of ur country while other countries are showing only their good part. |
way to go! but dont just talk, make it happen |
kettykin: The point is that in order of priority considering the paucity of funds and limited life of the Administration , the needful thing is to commit the resource in to deepening the Already constructed sea ports in PHand Calabar , rather than start another tail spin project that sounds very good but no body can determine how it will end.ye kettykin: The point is that in order of priority considering the paucity of funds and limited life of the Administration , the needful thing is to commit the resource in to deepening the Already constructed sea ports in PHand Calabar , rather than start another tail spin project that sounds very good but no body can determine how it will end.yes you have valid points and making brain(sic).....but remember this is a state's initiative....the ports issue is a federal responsibility! so they should handle their responsibilty...u cant tell fashola not to build lekki airport just because federal govt is under utilizing and messing up MMIA! |
kettykin: This rail line as high as it sounds , is another unncessary waste of useful capital just like Ajaokuta Steel, the money should be invested in Ibaka Seaport, Calabar Seaport and PH sea Port, this will bring about diversification of Nigeria's Maritime Economy and also a fall back option if Apapa is under attackBoth the deep seaports and rail lines are needed to be constructed and running, there by having backups in case of one encountering problems... that's how u know a developed country...the calabar-lagos rail should be more of passanger train that's why I said the rail line should be a speed train...all are needed, being a top 20 developed country is not for kids...nigeria have d population to utilize all d facilities....some american cities have three airports, build dat in nigeria and they will say it s a waste! But they want to be in d top 20 economy by 2020 |
Una go jump fast to go and snap where roads are bad but will turn blind eye and hiss when una pass tru d ones dat has been reconstructed and good! The benin-ore expressway, nobody is talk about that one again because it is getting better! |
HNosegbe: Have they talked about the funding? What about the legal issues? Right of way? Geological surveys? Management of the railway? Personnel/labour force requirements? Sharing of revenues from the railway? How long will it take? Compensation of affected communities?Didn't u read they are having meetings and sessions!! Or do u think they gather just to talk about how good their wives were last nite ![]() |
Okija_juju: Good point but did you have to curse at me?! oh sorry! I just woke up at d wrong side of d bed |
Okija_juju: Sadly, the Rail is for economic gains and the Shipping would bring more money than the trains would.. Calabar needs investors and the sea needs to be opened up.]Its not about calabar u mooron!! Calabar is just d end point of d rail line....there lots of states d rail line should pass tru, transporting both goods and people! And am sure south east will like to key in into the project, like having an arm of d rail line diverted at somewhere at edo or delta then moving towards anambra imo abia rivers then join the rail again to end at calabar. I think they should make this a speed train line so dat people can live at east or south and be coming to work at lagos or transact business and go back d same day! Thereby reducing the mass exodus to lagos and deconjesting d city. |
Chino is a die hard defender of anambra! U guys should leave him alone! Once u say anything negative about anambra he attacks! Even if u are anambarian, he no send! But bro chillax..all of us want d good of d state...if need be, we criticize! If we have to defend we defend! |
A prominent traditional ruler in Anambra state, Igwe Robert Eze of Ukpo, Dunukofia LGA, was kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday.... He is the brother to prince arthur eze...d ransom go big for this one! |
Hope of an end to the friction between President Goodluck Jonathan and the House of Representatives brightened yesterday with the decision of the President to bow to some of the demands made by the Reps. The lawmakers had been at daggers drawn with the President over what they termed an uninspiring implementation of the 2012 budget and the contempt of the executive for resolutions and bills passed by them. The friction got to a head last week when they gave the executive up till the end of September to implement the budget 100 per cent, failing which they would launch impeachment proceedings against the President. But feelers from the two meetings the President has held with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Tambuwal, in the past one week revealed that the President decided to yield some grounds to the lawmakers because of what a Presidency source called his "deep concern for the nation's political stability." The implementation of the budget is now expected to be fast-tracked while the President is also said to have demanded a fresh, comprehensive report from the Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on the Director-General of the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ms Arunma Oteh. Oteh was recalled from suspension by the Presidency without regard to the position of the House that she was undeserving of the position in view of the result of their investigation into her tenure. A source privy to the talks said: "The sessions were frank as the President and the House leadership were able to identify issues and grey areas to address. "So far, the talks have been useful; all outstanding issues are likely to be resolved on or before the House resumes in September. "I think at the end of the day, we may not get to a dead end. Things are going to work out; the two sides are beginning to understand each other. "But there may be another meeting with the House leadership before the recess is over. Certainly, it is obvious that the ongoing rift may end soon." Asked to be specific, the source said: "The President agreed that there is need to fast-track the implementation of the 2012 budget and he gave details of what his administration has done. " The Presidency source added: "Mr. President is committed to having everything in place. He believes that while he is addressing insecurity in the country, his administration should not give room for political instability. "The President has asked the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to release funds to MDAs before the end of this month. The Ministry of Finance has started doing that, and it was on this basis that she had the confidence to say that budget implementation has moved from 30 per cent to 56 per cent. You can go to the MDAs; they will tell you that the situation is improving. "I can tell you that he will address some of the issues tabled by the House. Some of the bills awaiting assent may be signed next week, although he will be taking them one by one on merit. Any of the bills which requires fine-tuning may be returned to the National Assembly after mutual consultations. "The President has also taken steps to pacify the Senate which is also aggrieved by non-implementation of some resolutions, especially the Report of its Committee on Privatization. There may be action on reports from the National Assembly on BPE, SEC and Pension scam. "If not for the maturity of the Senate President, Chief David Mark, the relationship between the Executive and the National Assembly would have been worse. "The truth is that the President has tried to overlook some things but the House is not reciprocating as expected. "On the constituency projects, the President conceded to have these included in the budget as long as it will be cost-saving, development-oriented and to be managed by the MDAs. He bent backward to accommodate the National Assembly to ensure easy passage of the budget. "Initially, what the lawmakers wanted was N120 million projects per constituency, but the President said it could not work. They went as far as reducing it to N80 million worth of projects per constituency but they came back to N40 million after the President insisted that he would not allow waste. "So, a deal was struck for the constituency projects which will be executed within the budget framework of each relevant Ministry, Department or Agency. They also sought leave to bring contractors. "But after the first quarter funds were released, some members of the House started going to MDAs to ask for variation of funds allocated to projects in their constituencies. The executive arm, however, decided to stick to the budget as passed, leaving the House members angry. "What happened during the public hearing into the management of the Capital Market and Fuel Subsidy probe on allegations against members made the Executive to be more circumspect on this budget palaver? "The House may be making a point but the President believes that its members are doing so with politics. Right from inception, the relationship between the Presidency and the House has not been cordial. There is that suspicion that may be the Speaker and some PDP members in the House are working for the opposition." The Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, however, said no member of the chamber is involved directly or indirectly in the execution of constituency projects. Mohammed said: "It is unfortunate that there is a deliberate attempt to smear the image of House members on the constituency projects. The House has said it but I want to repeat that we are not contractors and we have nothing to do with the award and execution of constituency projects at all. It has been the exclusive right of the Executive to execute constituency projects. "When the budget came, the President gave an envelope for constituency projects. They consulted and they asked National Assembly members what projects they would want executed based on the needs of their constituency or Senatorial District . "Based on the overtures, members only provided areas of need and likely locations for these constituency projects, which are meant to accelerate development at the grassroots. "No member of the House has anything to do with the award and execution of these constituency projects. "The projects are even under sub-head in MDAs that are relevant to them. If members are not awarding and executing projects, it is sad to cast aspersion on them that they are asking for variation of the contract sums. There is no iota of truth in this allegation."When we cried out on non-implementation of the 2012 budget, we did so in the interest of the nation. We assisted the President to know why things are not working because at the end of the day, Nigerians will blame him." chino11: ^I think its because of the sense in getting all the bolden projects ready for commisionning whenever GEJ comes to anambra, that has delayed the commissioning of some projects like the onitsha port....so the president have like 4 gigantic projects to commission whenever he comes....he might even flag off the second niger bridge construction...i was initially wondering wat was delaying d commissioning of d port, cause i find it strange, because govts derive joy in rushing to commission,to give the impression that they are working... some even commission ones that are not even completed |
chino11: This solid construction will continue all the way to Awka end of the expresway. Good job Niger Cat/CCCI hope the pace of construction will move faster! Now peter obi has taken over the construction of the expressway! Also happy it has been dividing into two contractors to make d work faster! Just like wat was done on d onitsha-owerri road! Btw julius beger and ccc! Without dat dat road won't have completed by now. |
ACM10: Ndi be anyi, before any one of you responds to AribisalaO's tantrum. Pls kindly go through this thread.Everybody has ignored him! So do same.. |
![]() Ndata: I was 1992 set. Show the light!92 set Nna u be old man oo!! I be 97 set...dengram has really been upgraded! thanks to nestoil largess to d school! Lots of renovation have been done in d school!! But principal obidike house is still standing as an old arctifact |
All the road side traders at computer village ikeja were dis morning cleared by the kai and security forces!...the place is as free as air now!

noiseless: Please lets ignore this ARIBISALA guy,let him continue with his ignorance and bad upbringing,he has been trying too hard to drag comments out of people's mouth since last night, but frustrations came calling when he was not given the attention he was seeking which was an excuse to start calling names, but in the end he had to start calling people's father & mother all on his ownYou said it all...pls everybody should just ignore that big fool!! If he types any other rubbish just scroll tru and ignore! Dat will shut him up! |
Before spyder start posting pics let it all be known dat every state or city has its strong points and weak points! First of all anambra is not dragging beauty with any state! None of its cities were planned unlike enugu owerri and other older state capitals! It is all individual development! In d sense dat d industrious citizens did almost all d whole development by them selves! A good Eg of onitsha not being planned, is in d case of, in d whole of d city there is no single dual carriage way! Except d enugu-onitsha expressway which is a FG highway dat just passed through d city. This could be said to be the fault of d military administration... But what anambra lacked in terms of planning and beauty of a state, it has supplemented it in terms of volume of business and commercial activity tru d ingenuity of anambarians! They churn out four,five-six story buildings there like bungalows...so onitsha/anambra is not dragging beauty or d tourism industry with any state! Enugu or calabar can have it! But they will match commercialization with any state bumper to bumper. Onitsha city is already built up! I don't see any beautification dat can work there! If u ask me,effort should be channeled towards building virgin cities at undeveloped villages around d state! This is even also a challenge cause most villages don't have much land to give! Development have already caught up with most of them. |
What bigger fishes than PDP chairman son, and former PDP chairman do u expect These are his own party members...tell me which nigeria president have ever had the guts to try dat! And remember this is d first batch of people to prosecute...more are coming |
