Reading through all the comments, I can see a lot of us here don't actually understand the basic inheritance pattern of the hb genotype. I'll try to put up a simple-to-understand writeup here in my spare time.

What will you say about someone who just bought a highlander but would rather prefer his old E class to the highlander? Highlander is now for wifey while he is planning to upgrade to an ML. Once you taste of the Benz savour, you would rarely be pleased by any Japanese brand.

Your hatred for anything Benz will not help your sense of judgement. Quote one comment above where someone "insulted" Benz. Moreover, the writeup ain't deep and comprehensive enough. E.g A W202 or W203 C180 will save more fuel than a regular 3.0 ltr Japanese car all things been equal.

I've been reading all comments on this thread from its inception. What you have succeeded in doing with this thread of yours is to expose your abysmal ignorance and lack of class. Class not in terms of cars or whatever but in the way you respond to comments here as you continue to keep us amazed at the extent of your ignorance.

Just to add to the topic, Mercedes is the only car brand I know that has something for everyone irrespective of your pocket size and need with vehicles ranging from small economy cars like the A class to super cars and even cargo trucks and trailer heads.

Incomplete story

I sighted a low flying aircraft around Ijebu Ode axis this evening and called the attention of few people around to it. It was flying very low and we were just looking. It suddenly changed trajectory and returned back to Lagos. I suspect this was it. I told the people to watch out that this will be on the news. Here we are. Thank God for safety.

I'd advice you suspend the trip and reschedule it when you'd have saved enough.

As a first-timer to Dubai, I'd also advice you fly Emirates,.
It's quite hassle-free and a good deal for kids plus in 7hours you're home and dry.
Family comfort supercedes whatever "apririko" price difference other airlines offer.

Considering your budget too.
Unless you want to stay in shabby hotels like Gold Plaza in Deira or in Bur Dubai and be using the metro lines or trekking with your family of 3 all through your stay there as the cost of cabs may make you less enthusiastic about exploring fun places.

I also haven't mentioned your tours? Dubai will not be memorable if you can't at least make tours of the Safari, visit the Burj Khalifa, or a boat cruise in the Marina.

You can't afford a quality memorable trip at this time of the year, unless you don't mind window shopping around the Dubai Mall with your family looking like a bunch of almajiris.
Try it some other time when you're ready.

I wouldn't want to disparage this your comment but I would advise you tread with caution. From my little experience, many have tolled this path you are about tolling and their experience wasn't palatable. I won't write much here cause of the sensitive nature of spirituality and science. But trust me, we've had experiences.

I'm an advocate of preventing giving birth to children with the sickle cell disease. This is easily done by avoiding marriage between carriers of the abnormal haemoglobin genotype (mostly S and C).

I recently conducted haemoglobin genotype testing for some young tertiary institution students after enlightening them on the dangers of not knowing their haemoglobin genotype before getting into a serious relationship.

My advice for you is that, it could be difficult for you now, but your sure bet is to quit the relationship. Medical science have made it possible to avoid the chances of birthing children with sickle cell disease just as stated in earlier comments but what about the huge financial stress and possibilities of failed procedures?

I met a couple recently who did amniocentesis genotype test for their unborn child to ascertain the hb genotype. Lo and behold it failed them despite using a renown diagnostic centre. Now they have an ailing child with SS with thalasemia syndrome. Their money is almost failing them. Not to talk of the almost dead love they once confessed to each other.

Don Jazzy went to Russia only to watch Nigeria loose.
