@Emeka, the thing is that some phones are internet (HTML) surfers by default while most phones use wap,u need an internet enabled phone to use the internet settings and you need to activate ur sim for internet as well,i did that a long time ago though.my x-5 2v is a wap phone not internet.

Hey all, i stand to be corrected but i think celtel wap gprs is no longer free they have migrated everybody on d wap platform to their so called 'Access pay as you use' and they charge N5 per 50kb, but i think the internet gprs is still free and cool cos i still browse free with my internet settings i hope it will be free 4eva sha.

try this , see if it helps.
1. You ca put the phone in safe mode, here is what you do: hold down the pencil button whilst turning the phone on, and keep it held until the phone has completely started, or until it asks for PIN code.
2. If that doesn't work, You can do a soft reset by typing *#7370#
3. If that still does not help, try a hard reset: switch off the phone, hold down the following buttons; green (call button), * button, and '3 ' button. While holding the buttons, press the power button to switch on the phone, when "formatting" appears on the screen release the buttons.

I'm sorry to sound this way but why do we always have to imitate others, remember what works for others might not work for you, i'm not saying this is a bad idea, but for pete's sake we are just not ready for it and a lot need to be tidied up before such mission can be conceived, we will display ourselves as objects of ridicule to the developed world trying to match up the naira against the dollar, when in the real sense their purchasing powers are never equivalent. A lot need to be done and please the ignorance of the populace should not be exploited anymore, this is democracy and the people have a say on issues concerning their future so the government should not think of implementing a program as this without consulting the people first.

If you want to revamp the economy, it should be a gradual process and i dont think redenomination of the naira should be the first step. there are so many other sectors that need to be dealt with first before talking of equating the naira to the USD. They better think about the pros and cons before diving into such huge decision.We better be prepared for the consequences, the gap between U.S and Nigeria today is not 100 metres. Please, Soludo should consullt the right before embarking the nation on this trip.

Hey @honsule, whatsup man, how've you been? i don't know whats wrong, my phone has not been able to connect to the internet with the MTN sim, each time i try i keep getting the same message, "packet data not available", its so frustrating. as regards my celtel sim it still browses but recently it started displaying the same message as the MTN , though it browses with other phones. i dont know what to do
