Bringing this here is good at least for awareness, but I will personally advise you do more than this. The Court has fully resumed now and you can take action by filing for the enforcement of your fundamental rights which had obviously been breached. From breach of your right to privacy, to them conducting a search without a search warrant, to them arresting you for an offense unknown to law, to obtaining money unlawfully from you, the list is endless. If you transferred the money to them that is good enough. Even if you made a withdrawal to make the payment, that is good enough still. If they made you write a statement, that is much better. Whichever and however the case might have played out, I think you won't be making an impact if you allowed the erring officers to be without you taking any legal steps. 1 Like |

The question is how many of us buy our clothes from that friend of ours that sells the same thing? How many of us buy things from those close family members, friends, colleagues at work? We must always remember that for every perfume, wristwatch, clothes, shoes, chains that we buy there are indigenous manufacturers of them. But we say it is our choice! If it is our choice then why condemn others for the choices they make? No one owns anyone else a duty to make a pity-purchase. It has nothing to do with hatred or dislike, life is an arena of choices and to blame others for their choices will only make hypocrites off us all. We often move with ease and pace when we are placed with the opportunity of accusing others of those things we are guilty of. |

[quote author=donstan18 post=91762397]I have no reason not to believe she was killed by those threatened with her achievements. Fear NORTH! I strongly have a feeling that there is more to her death than meet the eyes. Who kills with reverse? At what speed level does a driver reverse his call to have such a strong force that is capable of killing when he is not under an imminent threat. And for a fine solder like her, reflex must be one of her strong traits. A sudden act of reversing a car close enough would have triggered a form of reflex reaction from her. Verdict: High probability that she was murdered by those threatened by her achievement, or she has access to some vital information that could expose some people. The first prospect Head of AirForce in Nigeria post-independent was equally alleged to have been killed by an aircraft he was flying on the allegation that he ran out of fuel. The doctor asked to carry out an autopsy test on him was murdered a day before the release of the results and the case of a brilliant and officer ended so unceremoniously. They should give us the account of an eye witness, or show us an independent autopsy report. Something is wrong somewhere and we are not going to buy this shit they are offering us. 4 Likes |

I think we sometimes have to draw a distinction between when a pastor/Imam gives a prophecy and when they speak as within their capacity as a citizen. It's unfortunate that in a bid to drive traffic people to ascribe all their words as prophecy even when they are just speaking like a normal human being. It is very instructive that we draw up this line 1 Like |

fraymite: So, churches don't need money to run their generators or they don't have bills to pay as well? Some of them have a full time pastors they pay salary to, some are making use of rented apartments. Because according to you now Mosques have bills to pay but churches run on water? 2. Someone just attached the USSR code of "Assarudin" on GTB. How about that? 3. Read your Quran very well, Muslims pay tithe yearly. The mosques must stand up to be numbered at a trying time like this. If you don't have anything to show, it probably because your leaders eat with all their ten fingers without leaving anything in reserve. 1 Like |

AudioMonkey: I concur with you, sir. He has lived his life as an example of who a true believer should be. A scandal-free life. For the general talk about tithes, I have realized that more often than not, those who shout Pastors are stealing money from their members via tithes don't pay their tithes. Those who do pay tithes don't complain. So I begin to wonder why a lot of us cry more than the bereaved. Why complain about what others do with their money. 4 Likes 1 Share |

The Juventus superstar organised gifts and a personally written message for the team from his country. Cristiano Ronaldo has spurred on the next generation of Portuguese footballers with new pairs of boots each and an inspirational message. Portugal's under-17 women's team were the benefits of the gift and words, as they attempt qualify for their age group Euro 2020 tournament in Estonia. The Serie A megastar gave each player a pair of Nike Mercurial Dream boots along with a letter to help motivate the players ahead of three crucial qualifiers November. Ronaldo wrote to the team: "I send you these Mercurial Dream Speed boots in the hope that they help you reach your dream. "When I was a child I had a simple but very crazy dream. No, it wasn't the type of dream that you have when you are sleeping. This was one of those dreams that you want so much that it keeps you awake at night. "I wanted to become the best footballer in the world. I dedicated my life to my dream - in the gym, on the training pitch - doing everything necessary to make it possible. It's so important to have a dream. It's even more important to work hard to reach it. "I realised my dream and I hope you can realise yours too. Pursue them without hesitation. If I did it, you can do it too. Congratulations on qualifying for the elite round. Stay focused and keep your eyes on the next victory. "Good luck and enjoy these boots. "Cristiano Ronaldo." Drey1: The question is: we those appointments needed? Yes, they were. The governor made it clear that his administration will do fresh recruitment and that the sacked employees can reapply. This implies that the recruitment is in fact needed. Was the recruitment process faulty? They were employed by the necessary body saddled with the responsibilties of recruiting. A recruitment exercise that spans over a period of 20 months. Were they qualified? Yes, they are legal practitioners. Did they work for a period of 5 months post recruitment? Yes! With all their strength. They worked for the State. Did they deserve to be pay? Yes, absolutely. Anyone who worked deserves to be paid whether employed by the former governor or not. Now, go over your post and reexamine your position vis-a-vis these objective submissions. This is not politics, this is people's lives. Thank God for what you said the governor is doing in that regard. But we have here 28 Lawyers and citizens of our beloved country whose employments has just being terminated, who have been made to work for 5 months without pay, who equally deserves a right to be protected by the government they believe so much in as well. As to the fact that I'm feeding you with news that i can only confirm, the point is, if my house is set on fire, must I wait for the firefighters and confirm that my house is on fire before I go out in search for help from the public? Ought the public delay in assisting me because the firefighters has not collaborated my story? 1 Like 1 Share |

sapoyoro: If you have a contrary report on this maybe it is time to unveil same. We are talking about livelihood of 28 people here, and no one is playing politics with this Mr. As to this being a one sided story, I think this is one of the reasons why we are bringing this to a platform like this, since all attempts to get the ears of Mr. Governor on this has failed prior to now, maybe and just maybe we can get his response and explanation on why these people were sacked for no just reasons other than the fact that their employment was confirmed in April this year (despite the fact that they started their employment process in 2017 before their confirmation in April 2019, this negating the idea that their appointment was done by the past administration in the backyard). 2 Likes 1 Share |

MrPolitics: Is reasons were as lame as the fact that they were appointed in April, 2019. He felt their appointment was a power play by the past administration fee months before he was to be sworn in as the governor (but the recruitment exercise took months before they were finally given the employment letter in April). Asking them to reapply for the position they currently hold shows that their employment was as of neccesity rather than an attempt to undermine an incoming government. If they are to be sacked, ought the government not renumerate them for the months sowed to the job done for and on behalf of the State? 1 Like |

In April, 2019, 28 Lawyers were issued their letters of employment having scaled the hurdles of various interviews stages conducted by Oyo State Ministry of Justice, their joy knew no bound. Their joy was however curtailed when the new governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde informed them that his administration cannot inherit the past administration's employees even though they were employed under the normal employment procedure and neither of them owns any allegiance to the past governor. The governor informed them that his administration will conduct new recruitment and if they are interested they should apply. All appeals for the governor to retract his stands fell on deaf ears and the further appeal to him to pay them their 5 months outstanding salaries seems was equally overlooked by the governor. Government is expected to be continual, but it is quite unfortunate that these innocent lawyers will have to bear the burnt of power play to which they know nothing about. It is a shame that the governor to whom we all hold in high esteem will chose to play politics with a sensitive matter that evolves around lives and survival of these innocent employees. 3 Likes 1 Share

It quite unfortunate. We are too divided on a lot of front in this country. Our problem alone is not in our tribal differences. Even among people of same tribe you have a clan claiming to be the first among equals. Then religion further diminish us. Among the Muslims there are divisions as seen by those who considered themselves more closer and faithful to the Islamic mandates. Same can be said of the Christians as well. Following from the above, it is only a matter of time before issues like this erupt like a volcano. The problem will be stretched further by people in position of authority who are saddled with the duty to take a stand. They will be divided based on their religious stand and the need to be a voice. Then a decision will be taken by that man who has the final power to do so. His decision will as well be influenced by the side of the divide he belongs to. Then, there will be shouting and people buying their time till he ends his tenure and they ensure another person whose religious stand will favour them take hold of the position. He will of course change the law on the uniform again. And on it goes... it so sad that we now have a case in our hand, a precedent in the making and something that might shape and change the face of alot of things down the academic/educational line. This is therefore not the end, it only the beginning |

It is a sign of strength for a man to admit his shortcomings and be bold enough to retrace his steps. It will amount to misconception of the concept of power if only what we attribute to it is an act of callousness, bullying and misplaced doggedness... He is a strong man the governor of Lagos State for admitting his mistake and retracing his steps in the good interest of his people. The question of the timing is inconsequential. Motivated by recent events? Maybe. But let us think of the unforeseen health hazard his refusal would have caused the people in the next one year... I think he did this also for his party lest it becomes one of the campaign promises of the opposing party. I commend the humanity in the man.
