Ok but she's into her own business. Noting all the points and likely questions too. Many thanks Popri: In addition, my mum was asked how much she earned and what courses she lectured She was also asked if she had other grand children, as LadyG said, personal questions basically but in all, it was a breezy experience Your mum will be fine |

Ok. Thanks a lot. LadyGuinivere: Biollar the questions aren't here nor there o! Just to establish relationship and verify details. For egs something like 'this your daughter which number is she?' I don't think they l ask her anything she won't know. U can make sure she knows ur hospital and accomodation and EDD. Other stuff will be questions personal to her |

Thanks a lot. She's into her own business, will have to prep her well. Thanks a lot once again. cindermum: @ Biollar,
Sequel to LadyG's response, you should also let her know your company name and what you do there just in case she's asked. My colleague's mum also applied and she was asked ;
1) where she works (I'm an educationist in ***sch and I have worked there for 20yrs) 2) where her husband is and the number of kids she has 3) wher all her kids are too. 4) sponsor
She wasn't asked about her financial status as she already told the VO that her daughter was sponsoring. |

My people
I want my mum to come along with me to assist with the baby.
She has never travelled before, traveling mid May, we got our visa for vac purpose and used it last year. Already did the notification of intent thing and got the usual response.
Now my question is, if I have to give her my gathered traveling docs so far :visa page and data page...I hope my visa and da of hubby and son won't be cancelled?
Scared to my bones and is it worth it?
What are her chances too?
Due in June by his grace, can she leave Naija early June, can I pick a date in Last week in May for her interview as we are already in by then?
NB: I have also paid the hospital already.

True, my sis gave birth in the US and she's not on Nairaland, never heard of it before sef I think Omodadi is referring to ghost readers, how do u explain someone pm'ing you for post of about 30pages back, u were about to reply, decided to look up the person's profile....only to discover that he/she registered today itself, started ffg today and asked question of about 30pages back today itself and also directed the question to the appropriate person(s) today gangan. It can only mean he/she has been gathering info on this thread as a guest without registering. If people like LadyG, Tvegas, Firsttymum, Nerf, Modath, Happytbaby and co da I can't rem now didn't share, guess others won't be able to learn or can one share or relate with others as a guest? #myopionion# bbaby84: I don't know if there's a particular person you're referring to or a personal experience but generalising, you do know a lot of people have been birthing in the US long before this thread was created and some are still birthing with knowing of the existence of this thread. So not everyone who has gone to give birth in in the US came to Nairaland. |

See analysis ....Mi love for u just dey grow efriday and yes u r so ryt abou the dollar and biollar rhyme happytbaby: @ Yomisley,
I think it depends on who you meet (Visa officer). People have gotten it on virgin passports. Travel experience just helps to show capacity, and may also demonstrate that you are likely to come back since you 've been going to other countries(developed) and coming back. It's not a must sha, just show your money, be prepared and pray for Grace.
@ Austine2020,
I think you read the original poster's post with bias, I have read it for the umpteenth time and simply cannot see what you are saying. She was polite. I have seen people condemning this our endeavour on the first few pages of part 1 of this thread (dunno if those posts survived the rapture) and Comfortina does not sound anything like them.
This endeavor is a choice, if someone gets discouraged by those questions then they didn't have something to do before,as my people will say 'won nikan se'.
It is important to be civil to people on this thread regardless of your opinion of their thinking. It's impossible for all of us to think alike else husbands and wives would never quarrel.
Lady G abeg ctrl alt ignore.
@Biollar, this your dollar quest is gangster, see you using torchlight to find money no wonder your moniker rhymes with'dollar' |

You shouldnt have replied the question, because some people are just enemy of progress who are looking for some people to discourage,if not, how can someone in his or her right senses, after seeing the current situation of things in NIG now, and still asks whats the benefits of birthing in the USA and being an American Shmmm!! |

Awwww....this is so sad. May God grant your families fortitude to bear the loss! It is well!! Petdaughter: Hi Guys, I got a very sad call this morning. My cousin lost her 3 year old son yesterday. The little boy was playing in their compound with other kids, no-one knew when he left the compound and then stepped on a soak-away slab. The slab was not stable and he fell into the soak-away. Everyone gathered and tried to get him out but unfortunately he had swallowed and inhaled the waste. The poor boy died. I feel so sad and unhappy about this. Pls dear moms, try to be alert towards ur toddlers and kids, one split second can make a world of difference. This is the most heart breaking news I've ever heard Cos I have a 3 year old son myself. May God continue to protect us and our little ones from harm. Amen! |

*covers face* I once paid an agent in 2011 and was denied. Tried with hubby, son and myself and we were granted. Infact ehn, while filling it all in, I started rolling my eyes as per some info the agent filled that I couldn't rem, decided to kuku Ma call him to clarify,he told me he upgraded my status to Married when I wasn't. I was extremely 'overgasted and flabberwhelmed' but I was happy I asked to clarify o cos the VO asked : Ma'am you were here in 2011, said u were married and your husband was into shipping.... Me: Yes but we are divorced . If I hadn't asked the agent nko? I for dey look like Lukman. LadyGuinivere: So I discovered this evening that agents are usur format. Saw a correspondence between a mama that's wants to birth in the us and the agent. Get this. She'll book doctor's appointment, get correspondence and prepare budget sheet for the mama for a small fee of 800 usd or 1,500usd for family application. Allah! People have money to waste o! I'm just dumb founded at how lazy people can decide to be. I can't imagine dashing somebody nothing less then N160k for can do myself. |
