It is almost time for nairaleague 2024/2025 season! I will be sending out details in a bit, but if you are interested, ping me. I should warn you though, the guys who play in this league are wicked o. As in Nigerian wicked - I will explain anoda day. But in short if you join, best bring your A game. |
SmooshCHN:Maybe go back to whatever team coached him for the klitschko fight? Because I dont feel like he is mentally that same guy. Hes too cool with his defense, and his offense feels like a superstar who is hoping the other team just lays down and lets him win. |
SmooshCHN:I feel like his technique has gotten worse. Its like he just want to brawl |
A40:Not as easy as you think. Celebrity messes with your mind big time. And everybody around you will always say yes to your ideas, no matter how dumb. Just to stay in your good books |
Khanben:We lost two old time rockets back to back in a week or so. Wiggins wasnt as well known, even though he reached the NBA finals and that team lost to Celtics. I think the drug suspension made it hard to be popular. |
Flamemignon1:thats why killrhymz01 is asking for proof. Because reality is different from what you are saying. For example, many of the very masculine looking female athletes are actually very feminine in dressing and real life, and are very family oriented. For example peep the female sprinters in the just completed olympics. Even in the wnba, it is more rumor than reality. Similarly, men have been in fashion forever. There is nothing fundamentally feminine about men in fashion. You might be seeing the more effeminate ones and they catch your attention, but you have probably thought nothing about the dozens of manly tailors and hair dressers who dont attract attention In short your assertion needs proof for backup |
What happens if Nigeria cant make the Afrobasket game scheduled for Wednesday. Is this an automatic L, or they reschedule? Why bid to host games if you dont want people coming to play games in your country. SA is funny |
greypencils:Nike is sad, what are they going to do now. Lol |
kushercain:There is no way 300+lb was sustainable for an NBA player. Especially one that likes to be explosive. Hopefully this leads to an injury free year. Or at least he can bounce back quicker. |
benji93:you mean b a ronzites ![]() |
SmooshCHN:All truth, you said it better than I could. What we witnessed live will be talked about for decades to come, like dream team 1. And some folk wasted that time arguing nonsense |
so you mean, if we no discuss Lebron, na so this forum go dry up. Is it not time for the guy to retire bayi |
People taking this Tatum thing too serious. His skillset is not what was needed. Just move on abeg, I dont see why the continued focus. They should play you and lose? Teague talking about, get me 5 minutes. Make lead widen? Did you really think because you won the last NBA championship you are now in the same category as lebron or curry or embiid? Are you better than KD or even Edwards? lol |
Congrats to Team USA for proving themselves as Dream Team 2. I am proud of the grit these guys showed, and I can tell some lifelong brotherhoods have formed. And yall arguing over MVP and stats, you need something better to do with your time on earth. Please dont emulate Skip, guy man's career on on the wane. At least he has a nest egg - you too spend your time on useful things. Curry, Durant and Lebron will be business buddies 20 years from now, their kids kids will be forming business mogul. Dont be caught speculating on how you will spend your social security stipend at 55. For those of you in naija, you are on your own anyways ![]() Congrats to the womens team as well, but there is some animus where you would expect women to band together and lift each other up. |
SmooshCHN:Win is paramount at this point. Every player needs to chill, see how USA went to the vets late in crunch time. That was not the time to spam 3s. |
benji93:What does almost got cooked even mean? Did they not win under pressure. If they played the same game 10 times, who wins? Oga siddown, instead to say they won e say they almost got cooked. Fox news level of propaganda ![]() |
A40:No, nau, I wan help d guy ![]() Dont worry Noah, you the fastest, in the "WORLD" |
Wait o, can he claim world champion since hes the fastest man in usa ![]() |
Not even silver loooool |
greypencils:At least the baronze is world class ![]() |
Killrhymz01:in what? Im afraid I should not even ask ![]() |
benji93:Basketball is primarily an american sport. Outsidse the US, athletes will play football/soccer first. NBA washouts become all stars in other nations leagues. We have a center who cant score or handle the ball in the NBA playing PG and dropping 3s in China. If this is not sufficient info for you, you just want to argue. The basketball universe is primarily the USA. know this and know peace. |
benji93:Basketball was invented in the USA, and is dominant only in the USA. The US is the center of the basketball universe, and until that changes, this is where the best of the best come. Do we need a competition between unilag and stanford to determine who is world class? Or do we just look at the results and understand we can say stanford and caltech and harvard are world class without needing a head to head competition against uniben or unical or whatever. NBA champs are world champs because the league is head and shoulders above any other league. The smart thing about yankee is they eventually allowed blacks to participate in these sports, so you have a combo of wealth, organization and raw skill. Had Durant grown up in Nigeria or Congo, guy man for be suya vendor by now. But yankee has afforded such rare talents opportunity. No need for pedantic nonsense, yall stop trying to form intellectual on simple matters. |
D gap don dey grow o. At least our women try enter quarterfinals |
A40:Yes you would. Replace USA with Nigeria. Why would you take a dump on your compadres medal |
gargoyle:What kind of idiot badmouths his teamates from his own country during olympics? What kind of madness could infect your brain to run your mouth like that. I can understand non americans hating on dream team 2. But an american? That is some dumb as a rock type ish. |
Khanben:No its not. Those 3 can flat out ball and get theirs in any game. Go watch Kareem vs Dr J on youtube, then refresh yourself on Hakeem vs Ewing and Hakeem vs Admiral. Then come back and apologize. |
kendrick93:Agreed on the first. But NBA is no more rigged than other work places. You can be gamed out of rotation for many reasons, which might have little to do with your skills. Regular workplace ish. Brunson fell into the hands of the type of coach that loves his grit. And he took full advantage. It might not work out that way on other teams. |
A40:No doubt. Olympics needs a different skill set, you have to be more of an all rounder as opposed to leading a team built around you. Which makes Durant's scoring even more special. To be more specific, you can have a skill that makes you the best of the best. Making that skill shine in a team not built around you is a different matter. You do have to "see" the game different and know how to position yourself so that you are a plus not a zero or minus even to the team. |
Skrrrrrrr:Its more than that. There are many great iso scorers playing this olympics. Its the dedication to the craft that produces this kind of result. |
[quote author=steady986 post=131120952]I hear Curry went to London and no one recognised him blessing, no? |
steady986:I have always liked his leadership qualities. Worth emulating imo. I hope some of it rubs off on Curry as well. I feel like Curry is a little too self deprecating at times. I would like to see him voice the direction of the warriors more post Klay. Curry could have carried this flag as well, he has the body of work. |
