Khanben:No its not. Those 3 can flat out ball and get theirs in any game. Go watch Kareem vs Dr J on youtube, then refresh yourself on Hakeem vs Ewing and Hakeem vs Admiral. Then come back and apologize. |
kendrick93:Agreed on the first. But NBA is no more rigged than other work places. You can be gamed out of rotation for many reasons, which might have little to do with your skills. Regular workplace ish. Brunson fell into the hands of the type of coach that loves his grit. And he took full advantage. It might not work out that way on other teams. |
A40:No doubt. Olympics needs a different skill set, you have to be more of an all rounder as opposed to leading a team built around you. Which makes Durant's scoring even more special. To be more specific, you can have a skill that makes you the best of the best. Making that skill shine in a team not built around you is a different matter. You do have to "see" the game different and know how to position yourself so that you are a plus not a zero or minus even to the team. |
Skrrrrrrr:Its more than that. There are many great iso scorers playing this olympics. Its the dedication to the craft that produces this kind of result. |
[quote author=steady986 post=131120952]I hear Curry went to London and no one recognised him blessing, no? |
steady986:I have always liked his leadership qualities. Worth emulating imo. I hope some of it rubs off on Curry as well. I feel like Curry is a little too self deprecating at times. I would like to see him voice the direction of the warriors more post Klay. Curry could have carried this flag as well, he has the body of work. |
steady986:Yet see babe wey dey im hand. Guy man is doing well ![]() |
Jellybean Bryant is gone. This life eh, na to take am easy. All that beefing over material things now looks meaningless. |
A40:He didnt say this out loud though, and I dont think he knew he was being recorded. Was that angela reese on the far left? That girl cracks me up. She jus dey tend her baby hair jejely, refusing to engage in wahala ![]() |
A40:Social intelligence. You can be book smart, and not emotionally intelligent. Yeah its JBs right to vent as he likes, but it is also other peoples right to react to your venting like they want. Which means you can be really smart, mean well, but your road is harder than it should be. For example in this matter, guy man should have congratulated both teammates, keep your wisecracks to yourself and mechonu! Let others fight for you! Unless of course you already burnt bridges by acting like you know it all. And I like JB a lot, I like his zeal, but guy man is missing some wisdom. |
A40:They are teammates. They dont have to be buddies. Obviously Tatum doesnt even want to touch the issue. Meanwhile JB is going nation of islam all over twitter lol. 2 different personalities, its ok that they will never mesh offcourt. This isnt a big deal imo. Nothing to see here. And JB needs to get over himself for reals. His game is not what team usa needs |
A40:He does see the game. An SG that can play lockdown D is a valuable asset, but that SG has to have a reliable shot to even smell the floor in today's game. Lets see if the game starts to slow down for him, he needs more scoring output for all that D to make sense. |
greypencils:Me Im an optimist, Im hoping the lad proves everyone wrong. But the look on his face, first summer league game, guy man looks like he is in way over his head. At the very least he needs to stop overthinking, avoid all social media and control what he can, namely his own game and how much he learns. To be in the NBA is an achievement anyhow you look at it, and it can never be taken away from him. Make the best of it. Easier said than done though, the pressure is huge right now. I hope Bronny is off social media for his mental healths sake! |
this nepotism talk is going nowhere. the fact that we are even talking about it proves my earlier point. Lebron did a huge disservice to his son with this nonsense. Dude probably would have been picked higher. I know pops wants to play with his son, but surely not at the risk of your son's career. This was a terrible move tbh. Very selfish too. Ive had time to sit on it, the only good reason I can see why a father would ensure his son falls to a lower oick so they can play together is if he believes his son wasnt that good to start with. This means the ONLY good reason I can see for Lakers drafting Bronny is nepotism. SOmeone convince me Im wrong pls |
Khanben:True, but he has fit all the 3 teams he played for. I think he fundamentally is a team player and can get buckets. I man, Sabonis worked out for the kings. I think coach Brown can cook up something. Plus Derozan has never been a grumbler, I dont think he starts today. |
Roland17:I always remember his time with the spurs and how he morphed his game, became better actually. I think he can do the same here. Lets see sha! |
Roland17:He gives them a different look though. That midrange game will do some damage |
A40:After taxes, it was less money. Still though, even his dad's history was not enough. Same with Derozan. LA is hometown and was a perfect fit! |
A40:Jeanie Buss underestimated what a serious minded guy like Jerry West brings to the table. Its not just the players, its also what you surround them with, which is why a good GM is always part of a championship team. She let her personal animus get in the way of business sense. Eventually even Jerry Wests proteges Kuptchak and her brother were also booted. Lakers have gone downhill since then. After that ring with Lebron, that squad should have been kept as is! Jeanie sweetened the pain a bit by hiring Magic as long with Pelinka, but in the long run, you can now see Pelinka is really her guy. Magic was just hired to contain the initial fallout. Apparently Pelinka and Jeanie buss love the spotlight and can be very petty. I can see why any basketball player would think thrice before going to lakerland. I salute Lebron for investing his family into this quagmire Well sha, he too loves noise and spotlight, so, I guess they kinda fit. He should sha remember they can get petty. They dont play nice guy like you do in the playofs Lebron! |
Roland17:I feel like Lebron made a very selfish move here. Maybe with time I will understand it, but I feel like he has unwittingly used his son to generate more news at the expense of his son's career. It would have been better for the boy to start out on his own on some other team, and grow into his own man. This feels like "the decision" part 2. Except his son is now in the circus. Anyhow this is a father-son thing and I got mines, but I think you gotta be careful with this love thing. Too much can be as bad as too little. I dont like this target and pressure on the boy's back! I hope Im wrong, but when I think how long it took Tatum to come into his own, in spite of the skill set, does LA have the patience for this? I dont think so. |
Roland17 didnt your boys just win a ring. Yet you back in bed with a40, hating on greatness. We see yall! I dont like the position they have put bronny in. This kind of exposure is not good, especially without the skills to back it up |
Steady123 abi na steady986 where are you ooo. Debo in the house Solid pickup by lakers, I like it and im sure leking likes it as well. Shots fired in the west! Lets see what warriors do |
315milli for 5 years. Biko, are we not in the wrong career like dis |
A40:They stopped their delulu finally . Considering they gave up Shai and like 5 1st round draft picks for PG3, Im glad they were humble enough to walk away instead of throwing good money after bad. PG3 can be an effective complement to a playoff tem in the east. West is the jungle right now |
weakest draft ever? Make we dey look |
After one night of sleeping over it, this is going to be entertaining. All that x-os talk talk, we will get to see how Reddick and LA adjust if and when they get punched in the face. Im never a hater, so I wish Lebron the best still. Who knows, I may be wrong again ![]() |
Roland17:Bobo yii petty gan ![]() I wasnt wrong, Reddick is an afterthought, and a bad one at that. |
What a clown show LA! Im officially looking for another team to support in addition to Rockets. steady986 abi na steady123, u see yasef? |
A40:Was it really the celtics fault though? If you opponents are clueless on defense, you are not in the finals to teach them how to do their job. You take advantage until they solve it. I think thats why the victory is so muted, Dallas didnt put in the effort worthy of a WC champion, so we didnt have an interesting finals. The problem for Dallas is that backcourt will now beleive they never have to change their game, and I see 3 or 4 years of pain for Dallas before they realize they will have to trade one or two of these prima donnas Btw donlittle25, have you recovered yet? I waited a week to see if I can reopen your trauma. All love from I-45 south! ![]() wait o, it been only 3 days ![]() |
Roland17:Im ok with folks staying in their lane and not dabbling into things they cant handle. No one knows you better than you know yourself and you should not bite off more than you can chew based on other people's recommendations. If you go to jail for speaking out, its your career and freedom on the line, all the folks cheering you on will just continue talking and living their own lives. All that being said, I can also see the other side of the argument, that as a black male with some influence in that time period, you cant just be enjoying other people's bloody sacrifice and just stick to on the field stuff. Then again, a large portion of the black population didnt do much for civil rights either, so I dont think its fair to single him out just because of success. Personally, I feel his legacy will always be muted in people's minds for his decisions though.Food for thought for those of us still very far from 90! Im not suggesting go out and protest, but at least have it in the back of your mind you may have to sacrifice something somewhere to pay it forward. I apologize for preaching ![]() |
chic2pimp:How will we describe Kobe's own then? But I feel you, there is a sense of loss of greatness and someone you feel you knew. Maybe I've just seen too many recently and my perspective has shifted. |
chic2pimp:Then I saw he was 93. Nothing sad about this imo, Im sure he himself was ready to jet out. Na congratulations card dem suppose dey send, for real. |
