According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 77 percent of women in Nigeria use skin-lightening products, the world’s highest percentage. That compares with 59 percent in Togo, and 27 percent in Senegal. The reasons for this are varied but most people say they use skin-lighteners because they want "white skin".

In many parts of Africa, lighter-skinned women are considered more beautiful and are believed to be more successful and likely to find marriage.

I was watching channels tv this afternoon when suddenly an interview of an escapee chibok girl suddenly came on air.

The young lady claimed to have escaped from the deadly sambisa forest where boko haram holds sway and was narrating her ordeal in the hands of the deadly group and how she escaped and found her self in New York.


The shocking thing is that the lady was speaking American phonetics and twisting her tongue like someone eating hot akara and I began to wonder if she was part of the girls that escaped previously that could not even narrate their ordeal in pidgin English on channels tv. these were girls we learnt were be thought physics in Hausa language for weac exam.

Been thinking recently so much for this chibok girl's saga and boko haram madness.

Obama's economics team had been assembled as of 2008 because the country was in recession. Economic gurus like Larry Sommers, Peter Orszag, Bloomers were all appointed as advisers.

I saw the Chief Wailer's thread late but when I did a quick Google search on Obama's cabinet for 2008 and 2012, I immediately realised the guy's folly. I contemplated doing a counter thread but I decided against it since I have more pressing and more productive things to do.

The Protection Seeker is gifted in spinning facts to suit his purpose of deceiving his gullible and lazy followers, he's best nicknamed "The Spin Doctor". He should be paid very little or no attention to.

The good thing is his sphere of influence is limited to some TANoids in NL and not beyond. He's non-existent on Twitter, not influential on Facebook, not known in the blogging arena. In fact, he is nobody when it comes to political analysis in Nigeria's political landscape. Perhaps if he chooses to do sincere and objective analyses, he may be taken more seriously than now.

PRESIDENT BUHARI: Nigeria will remain ever grateful to President Obama and the United States for making Nigeria to consolidate its gains on a democratic system. The visit of the Secretary of State, when he visited Nigeria to see the President and the whole government of Nigeria, see the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission for Nigeria, and saw the operation was very clear and a positive trend that saw us through for this credible election we had.
And the maintenance of pressure by the United States, mainly, and Europe, to make sure that the elections were free, fair and credible led us to where we are now. It would have been almost impossible if the United States did not maintain the pressure on the former Nigerian government, but they would not accept anything less constitutional as far as the processes of the election are concerned. We will ever remain grateful to you because there are fundamental objectives that are identify all of Nigeria’s people’s Congress — security, economy, employment especially of youth, and then fighting corruption.
We are extremely happy that the United States had made it absolutely clear before the election that they are prepared to help Nigeria in this aspect. And this is why I am here, and I am very grateful for the invitation Mr. President extended to me.
