Moventist: When the bolded is completely done within reasonable time frame then it will be applauded. As regards costlier, it does not really matter, because all projects in the nation are over over bloated. 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: Budget: Pro-Wike Assembly Shuts Down All Rivers Expenditures by Gov Fubara by bixton(m): 12:07pm On Jul 15 |
kingsways: Are you sure? If they are not members of the house why would the governor put a resolution via the court not to entertain no impeachment notice from them who are supposedly called non members!!!!! The best thing anyone could say is that the Rivers State does not have any SAM(State Assembly Members). |
Politics / Re: LG Autonomy Can't Work, Nobody Emerges Chairman Without The Govs - Ayo Fayose by bixton(m): 9:44am On Jul 15 |
Sermwell: He is more experienced because he was a former governor or what? We are moving away from the old ways and whatever it takes will be done. Appendages, stooges and godfatherism will gradually be on the downside. Does he not also know that the LGA have their own Local Assembly just like the State Assembly. |
Politics / Re: LG Autonomy: Let Restructuring Follow – Bode George To Tinubu by bixton(m): 5:09pm On Jul 14 |
adamusuleiman1: The elder statesman that said he would go on self exile if Tinubu wins the election and court case is not appealing to the President to go further to restructure the nation. It's now all these PDP loyalists and apologists are seeing things differently. They never saw it during their years of plenty and abundance. |
Politics / Re: Supreme Court Judgement On LG Autonomy Takes Immediate Effect - AGF Fagbemi by bixton(m): 4:03pm On Jul 12 |
Afonjananawerey: There are lots of people who will write petitions against them regarding any fraudulent acts. The EFFC will be so glad to have numerous cases to investigate and prosecute. It will also enable the FG to employ more persons into the EFFC and other security personnels involved in financial mismanagement. Remember immunity can't be given to these particular tier of government. We are getting there. It's just a matter of time. 1 Like |

atiku4President: There's little to what you can loot when immunity does not cover you. It's either you work and eat or you eat and spend time in prison. It's all the choice they have. 5 Likes |
Politics / Re: Supreme Court’s Judgment Means No FAAC Allocations To CTC Chairmen – Ozekhome by bixton(m): 12:36pm On Jul 12 |
sammiy: The law will take it's course. There is no turning back. There are no sentiments. Everyone will uphold the constitution of the FRN and the judgment of the SC. If the governors like they can instigate the LG staffs, that will not change anything. Unlike the governors , LGA chairman don't enjoy immunity so they should be mindful and careful if they feel they can be protected by any godfather. 1 Like |

BERNIMOORE: The FG cannot control whoever is a LGA chairman. There are certain things that cannot be sustained even with greed. Little steps irrespective of our corrupt values we will get things right as time goes on. LGA chairman should as a matter of fact be careful otherwise I see many of them spending prison time like crayfish in a sack bag if they behave like the governors. |
Health / Re: Governor Fubara Launches Emergency Medical Service And Ambulance System by bixton(m): 9:49am On Jul 12 |
tonye33: Nice one. I remember during the Gov. CRA administration, there was an Emergency Call Centre somewhere in Old GRA Forces Avenue and they are in operation 24/7. There's a number to call on whatsoever issue and it will be treated ASAP. They are also linked to the security agencies for faster reach out. I just hope such is still in existence and also works hand in with this emergency medical services. Kudos to the Gov. SIM. |
Politics / Re: LG Autonomy: Supreme Court decision, an assault on true federalism - James Ibori by bixton(m): 4:01pm On Jul 11 |
atiku4President: Kindly do your findings about that amendment. Alot have been amended . Just Google it. It's an ongoing process that even started January. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Supreme Court Bars FG From Paying Allocations To LGs With Unelected Officials by bixton(m): 3:11pm On Jul 11 |
Odidigboigbo: Lucky them. It's a process. Some states may escape it some may not escape it. But the end of State Electoral Commissions have come to an end and it ends this year. |
Politics / Re: Livestock Ministry: Being Igbo In Nigeria Difficult – Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer by bixton(m): 2:22pm On Jul 11 |
opamoses1: There's no such thing as the ministry of livestock being created as claimed by several media outlets and persons. It's quite misleading. What the FG did is to set up a committee. 4 Likes |
Politics / Re: Supreme Court Bars FG From Paying Allocations To LGs With Unelected Officials by bixton(m): 12:52pm On Jul 11 |
Odidigboigbo: This is likely possible but it will not last long. You do know even successors of predecessors of governors go against agreements. Even if the governors using the council members to impeach the chairman, still it will not last long. There will be a time when majority will stand their ground. Remember LG chairman are not on pension like governors, so there will be a resistance. 1 Like |

adioolayi: I think the NA have amended the constitution scrapping off States' electoral bodies and them no longer vested with powers of conducting the LG election but now rather the INEC. The NA have also submitted copies of same to all the SHA to amend theirs. 5 Likes |

PointZerom: Let's watch and see about that. There's no LG chairman that can bribe their way into office when it gets to the second tenure. Except they intend to withhold salaries for 3 months prio to elections. |
Politics / Re: Supreme Court Bars FG From Paying Allocations To LGs With Unelected Officials by bixton(m): 11:37am On Jul 11 |
Ebubu2: The FG won't need to force any SG to abide by the law and judgement from the SC. As long as there is no duly elected LG council chairmen and councilors then LG will not get their allocation from the federation account. The main judgment has now empowered the FG to hold back the LG funds where there is no duly elected council members. 28 Likes |
Politics / Re: Pro-Wike Assembly holds sitting, submits resolutions to Governor Fubara by bixton(m): 6:37pm On Jul 10 |
Ojuntana: If we follow you statement, then under what law was Edison made the Speaker to have declared their seats vacant? Do you know how a Speaker of a House is elected/appointed? Also, what was/is the quorum of the House given the number of members if we are to consider that their seatings, rulings and declarations ate legal and have constitutional backing? |

Politics / Re: Food Prices To Crash In 180 Days – Agriculture Minister, Abubakar Kyari by bixton(m): 4:09pm On Jul 10 |
Islie: A team of cluelessness. 190 days is 6 months and we are in the 7 month of a 12 calendar year. By our harvest season certain crops are expected to be on produce from August and onwards meaning with such harvest coming forth its expected that food prices should reduce. But if the reverse is the case giving the Minister's comment then it means the festive season will not be a favourable one. |

Politics / Re: Pro-Wike Assembly holds sitting, submits resolutions to Governor Fubara by bixton(m): 7:56am On Jul 10 |
Ojuntana: This things are simple. Please what is the quorum of the SHA when Edison was Speaker and even now when Oko is calling himself Speaker? It's only when a quorum is in place that a meeting in the house for legislative duties becomes effective . |

Morbeta11: The FG gives one man a surveillance contrac meant for the Nigerian Navy worth billions of dollars monthly. If you tell this same government to increase the salary of the military they will not agree. Anyways the essence of my post is that our ND former militants are part of problems ravaging the region. They prefer the short duration business this surveillance contracts bring rather than agitating for investors and even the FG and SG to build refineries in the region and pay good wages which is a long term business. 4 Likes |
