Anyone that believes the denial by this character named Johnie that he did not vote for GEJ is a du*mb m.oron . . . .

Read his words carefully, they are the typical excuses/reasons rabid GEJ fans gave for supporting him!

johnie:
I couldn't have voted for CPC because it is built around an individual, a man who would have problems functioning effectively in the democratic context of present day Nigeria. What Nigeria needs is not a strong man but strong institutions.

Ribadu was not an option at all. Events I hope recent events have shown his supporters that he was merely a pawn in a political chess game.
E.G, the above post: HE DIDNT TELL US WHY HE DIDNT VOTE GEJ!!!! LMAO! But, he was quick to attack his two main opponents!

I remember when I lived in one of the suburbs of Lagos in the 80s. At the time public water supply had not been extended to the area.

Those who sold water from wells with water pumps attached actually contributed money to government officials regularly to frustrate the efforts of community (residents' association) leaders who vigorously campagined for the extension of the water supply to the area.

Thank God that one of the military governments was able to break the back of the cabal or maybe it was just that it was a change that its time had come, public water supply was eventually extended to the area and is still available today.

Everytime I remember the suffering thoe people caused us, the face of one the water sellers pops up in my head and I wish I could give him a piece of my mind.
As to the bolded: To Which of these Military Regimes do you owe the gratitude of "breaking" the "back of the cabal", because even I know that there were only two Military Regimes in Nigeria in the 80's--- THE ONE THAT WAS BEGGING TO RESCUE YOU FROM HOPELESSNESS, AND THE ONE YOU BEGGED TO DROWN YOU IN HOPELESSNESS!!!

Anyhoo, the botton-line of my rant goes thus: WHO THE HELL DID YOU VOTE FOR IN THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS?!? Your answer should tell you if you got the moral right to complain or if you should just put up and shut up!

@POST

The youths in Okohia community in Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State should be taught a lesson in democracy. Ohakim was elected as the governor of Imo State not Okohia and he does not owe account of stewardship to community of Okohia.

Again, this is democracy which allows Okohia to either help retain Ohakim as governor or vote him out as the people of Imo State did last week. The alleged vandalism the youth meted to St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Okohia was an uncharacteristic behavior of people from Okohia.
Even the Devil has his worshippers, thus, your post is not surprising!

Welcome to Nairaland. It is usually advised you ignore posters like the one who first responded to your post! They are notorious for the depth of hollowness and length of shallowness that exist above their neck and shoulder!!  They are not usually worth your time. So next time just ignore and don't allow them the privilege of a singualr response!

Nice article. Would be good you post the highlights here directly and allow those that want to read the whole thing to use the link.

The first point on Entrepreneurship: This(Entrepreneurship) in my opinion is the solution to the grinding poverty. There is something I term scalable entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs should be thought to seek growth in their business even if what they are getting is already enough to cater for their basic needs. That way more jobs would be created allowing the teeming populace of poor masses to exit the poverty trap.
Yup, of course u'll advise him not to answer!

ROFLMAO!!!

Entrepreneurship my left nut!

1. In a country with so much bureaucracy and red-tape?

2. In a super-corrupt society where everything is dictated by who you can bribe the most; Cops, Govt. Ministers, ordinary Civilians.

3. In a country where Power is comatose; No electricity?

4. In a country where the Legislators earn millions of Dollars/Yr while the people live on barely $60/month?

5. In a Country where majority are illiterate and even the "Educated"(?) ones are myopic in thinking (Hey, we see yall on NL everyday!)

6. In a country where the people are greedy, wicked and unbelievably tribalist. . . . thats where you wanna start your "Revolution" when you had the chance less than a month ago. . . . . ?

I'm not doubting that your ambition wont grow to be a success, all I ask is :WHO THE HELL DID YOU VOTE FOR IN THE LAST ELECTIONS?!
PoliticsRe: The Peculiar Race Called Nigerians. by bkbabe97y(m): 2:52pm On May 11, 2011
The average Nigerian, I doubt, is anything close to "Normal". At least, not normal in the way we in the West see things.

The average Nigerian Celebrates mediocrity and is satisfied with things being run in a counter-clock wise manner ONLY because he/she hopes to be in the same position later on in life so he that can also take advantage of the system with little or no complaints!

They'll celebrate a fraud of an election as "Free, Fair, and Credible"; thats how blinded to the truth they are. The antics of a pathological liar. . . . .

They are tribalists: especially in the North and even moreso in the South East. They arbor the truth! They are blinded to the realities of life. They see everything through the lens of : "My village brother is in power so anything he does, I support". The bottom-line:

The average Nigerian is backwards in his thinking, criminal, and corrupt!

NYPD Officer Moreno Denies ra*ping Drunken Fashion Executive
Assistant DA Balbert Goes Hard After Officer Mata In Cross
May 9, 2011 11:58 PM

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – New York City police officer Kenneth Moreno took the stand during his own trial Monday and told jurors he didn’t have sex with an intoxicated woman who has accused him of despoiling her after being called to help her get home.
He did, however, admit to making a fake 911 call to police that evening to return to woman’s apartment, 1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa reported.
The officers helped the drunken woman to her apartment and then returned three times within hours. The woman said she passed out but awoke to being violated.
Somber but forthcoming, Moreno took the stand as the key defense witness:
“Did you commit violation, Officer Moreno?” asked his lawyer, Joseph Tacopina.
“No,” Moreno said frankly.
“Did you have sex with (the woman)?”
“No,” said Moreno, who has been an officer for 17 years.
As CBS 2′s Pablo Guzman reports, Moreno’s version of what took place with the woman was stunning.
“She told me to come over to the bed. I said ‘I’m good where I’m at.’ She only had a pink bra on. She came over to me and asked me if I liked her. She tried to kiss me, but I smelled the alcohol. I said ‘you don’t like me.’ She got upset. I kissed her forehead. She took my hand and put it on her stomach and turned so my hand was on her lower back. She started moving her buttocks around my groin area. It was getting crazy. This was totally unexpected,” Moreno testified.
“I kind of pushed her away. I said there’s another time for this. She looked at me. I held her on the shoulders and said we’re not doing this. She got upset.”
An issue in this trial has been whether the woman was too drunk to say no and whether the cops should have called an ambulance instead of taking her to her apartment, the place of the alleged violation.
“I asked her what was going on. The cab driver said she was drunk. She heard what he said. She said, ‘I’m not drunk. I’m just sick,’” Moreno testified.
Tacopina then asked, “Did she respond to your questions?”
Moreno answered: “Yes she did. I told her, if you can’t stand on your own [I was going to have to call an ambulance]. She said she did not want to go to the hospital. ‘Then you’re going to have to stand up.’ She got up.”
Officer Moreno tried to show that his time with the woman was friendly. But he stunned many in the courtroom when he said he tried to comfort the intoxicated, vomiting woman with, “We talked about music. I even sang to her. I sang Bon Jovi’s ‘Living On A Prayer.’
“She said I want you to stay.  I said you want me to stay?  She said, yes, stay with me.  She just wanted to be held.  So I held her.”
Earlier, Assistant District Attorney Coleen Balbert aggressively cross-examined Moreno’s partner, NYPD officer Franklin Mata, about the alleged violation of the young, drunk, fashion executive inside her apartment in December 2008.
When asked if he could recall anything that was said between the woman and Moreno, Mata testified she told Moreno: “No, she doesn’t have a boyfriend,” and later, “I don’t want an ambulance.”
1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa reports: Prosecutor Grills Officer Franklin Mata

Balbert: “Was it flirty?”
Mata: “She was touching his arm. She was laughing. Giggling. It seemed flirty to me.”
Balbert then went after the cops’ characters, trying to get Mata to admit that he and Moreno intentionally lied to their superior officers by lying on a patrol log about their whereabouts during a lunch break and later placing a fake 911 call to buy them more time inside the apartment.
Balbert: “For that hour, you were not in the precinct station house, were you?”
Mata: “No, we were not.”
Instead, surveillance video shows the officers returning the woman’s Village apartment yet again.
Mata testified that shortly after, his partner went into the bathroom to assist the woman as she tried to vomit.
Mata said about 10 minutes later, while he was in the living room sitting on the couch, drowsy, the woman led Officer Moreno out of the bathroom, and into the bedroom where, prosecutors said, he violated the 29-year-old on her bed.
This is where the cross examination turned contentious, because Mata testified that’s exactly when he fell asleep for the next 30 minutes.
Balbert: “So you don’t know whether she was passed out?”
Mata: “I don’t know.”
Balbert: “You said in direct examination Ken did not commit any crimes. But isn’t it true you were asleep and didn’t know what was happening in that bedroom?”
Mata: “I know Ken. Ken wouldn’t do something like that.”
Balbert: “But he would commit a crime like making a false 911 call.”
Mata: “I didn’t know it was fake.”
Mata said he awoke when Moreno nudged him and said they were leaving. He didn’t ask his partner anything about what had happened, he said.
Mata and Moreno have been suspended until a Police Department review after their trial. If convicted, each could face up to 25 years in prison.

So who do you believe? Please offer your thoughts in the comments section below.
