From the little I've read about islam, and as common sense would dictate, if u worshipped in the same vicinity as a woman you would not be able to concentrate. U would lose focus, and forget the purpose of ur visit to that place of worship. I don't knw about other jewish sects, but I know that the orthodox jews also have a seperate place for worship btwn men and women in they synagouges! So, this practice is not limited to islam!

Okay, I've heard many stereotypes concerning Nigerians or they various tribal groups. Some of them have sounded surreal, some insane or simply untrue, while some have just been outright funny, but this one that forms the basis of today's topic really takes the cake! This weekend, the usual gang gathered again, and wut started off as a 3way call, led to everyone coming ova to my crib just tryn to prove they point! We couldn't even watch the game in peace becus of all the yelling and insults that was going back and forth. At a point I was shook that fists might start flying and the cops might be called. Well, the argument was that it was common for Yoruba men to sleep with others' wives. The insinuation was that they (Yoruba men) find some kinda thrill in this. As usual, as soon as this argument started I whipped out my pen and pad jotting down names, asking for correct spellings ect so that I could duly,dilligently, and accurately brief my fellow nairalanders! During the argument, two names/incidents kept coming up: a politician named M.O.K Abiola. This politician was said to have slept with all his boys' wives and gettin them pregnant just cus he had more money than them. He was even said to have slept with a kings wife and got her pregnant! It is said that when the military took over Nigeria, Abiola was jailed and then his own friends (all yorubas) slept with his wives thereby reciprocating wit the laws of karma. The second incident that was used as an example was that the immediate past president of Nigeria (obasanjo) was fuxcking his son's daughter!!! I have read this somewhere on Nairaland and the funny,and surprising thing, is that the Daughter-in-law hasn't denied the allegations not even once! There are numerous incidents here in NY of homes being broken because of extramarital affairs, and to be honest, the ones that usually involve a married couple sleeping with each other are usually committed by the Yorubas (this is not to say we don't hear isolated incidents of such being committed by members of other tribes)! An ibo friend that got in the argument, and tried to castigate the Yorubas, was reminded that when he (the ibo) was extradited to the United States from Europe to serve time in prison on some securities fraud issue, his childhood friend (an ibo like himself) got his wife pregnant and she had two kids by him! This is a wife that already had a child by him already. This personal revelation set off the fireworks and fisticuffs almost started flying! So, my question today is: which tribe is known to easily, and without conscience, sleep with women knowing fully well that they married?!
