Congrats. Please lodge NOW because anything could by 1 July,2015. God forbid, if someone occupation is removed from the list by July 1, it means nothing could be done except a different occupation is nominated. Why would you allow that? I checked an occupation on CSOL list on the Saturday and the State sponsoring the occupation and by Monday, just 2 days after, the state revised their list. Guess what, the guy is no longer eligible just within 2 days.

How would you know which state sponsors which occupation?

Why not just lodge the eoi now. What if there are changes in July? Lodge it now to avoid stories that touch o lol....you should be able to meet up with the last round for the year....that is if they have not sent out invites already though.

please when do they send invites, and how would one know

I leant there are jobs availability in Brisbane pls put me thru... @missakomaye yes svp submitted 22 may lunched in pretoria 02 June...to peeps that want to apply PLEASE write a strong and well worded SOP, be constructive state it clearly that you will return back to nigeria,let them know that you have a job that you will return to..Pls collect a letter from ur employer confirming your employment and let them states it clearly that they will re-hire you after your studies include this letter on your application to avoid unnecessary delay and funny outcome.. pls note, things are changing, svp is no longer a criteria for visa as its used to be with my little experience now...because some were actually denied visa even on svp after phone interview..family,home ties is the key and that is what DIBP guys are looking for...Pleaseeeeeeee oh b4 I forget dnt forget to include ur family member on page 13 question 40 on ur application form...check and cross check before you submit oh...all the best...

I coached people who got visa but on SVP, less documents n quick response from Pretoria. it is because my aged care n nursing was not fall under SVP.

after more than 3months of waiting I got d shock of my life from Pretoria (visa denied) I Neva saw it coming... assessment level3.
reasons... (1)I didn't including any family members in my form157A
( 2)I do not have a financial or home tie to my country.
(3) d fact am single.
with some other reasons that I carefully stated it in my SOP.
am just saying this for other to learn one tin or d other.....

It's strange to read from your post that Engineers Australia needs 3yrs work experience before one could be assessed. It is not so. However, you may find it difficult to write your CDR particularly if your degree is non-accredited. Also you won't get any point for your migration. It doesn't matter the type of company you worked with. Just get reference letter that meets Engineers Australia specifications from them. I would strongly advise you to go for assessment in Mechanical Engineering instead of Telecomm so that you won't be given Engineering Technologist at the end.

Forgive me bro, am very naive about PR...never had interest. I guess my degree is non-accredited since it a Nigerian degree. So please how do I go about it, since I must write the CDR? Also, the reference letter I already have from them is not detailed. Should I go back to them and appeal to them to detail it? Like what and what does EA really want to see in the reference letter? I lost it in this July, so I set a target for next february. But after the advice from malkinburg and NNB2012, I am now considering giving the PR a shot.

I studied mechanical Engineering and the first job I got was in same field (R&A) but I did it as a contract staff. So the name of the employer on my offer letter and pay slips was the recruitment agency, not the company I worked itself. Do you think this will be accepted? Also I did it for 2 years only. Since Engineers Australia require 3 yrs of experience, can I combine it with my one and half years of experience in my new company? My new company is a telecoms, but my job there is mostly mechanical. Pls help me out friends. Thanks y'all

I defered once because i couldnt pay tuition.
So Yes you can defer. To be certain speak with anyone from your school. After the admission is given that is.

Its been four weeks (from tomorrow will be fifth) I applied to four different schools in Australia. Till now, no offer, no news from my agent. I want to know from the experienced ones, do you think I can still make it for July intake, assuming offer eventually comes in this week, considering the time from when I will pay my tuition, get COE, apply for visa etc, and expect a grant? I'm asking because I want to know if its time to finally zero my mind and start working for feb intake. Thanks guys.

P.S. I used agent because most schools now make the agent thing mandatory, and also I don't have much SOA to show, am self sponsored.

I do not understand how it is done in Australia but in the USA, the government expects that each household must be earning a certain base salary to be fully taxed. Coming short of the base annual salary, you get refunded for the difference at the end of the year and the refunding process doesn't exceed two weeks from when you file your tax return. If you file online, you get it within 5 days.

I want to believe the Australian system is the same. However, the higher you earn, the higher the tax. And you can legally evade tax by donating to charity and charity organisations, your donations will be credited to your tax. It is one of the reasons why there are so many philanthropists in the USA. Not all of them are doing it for humanity but to get tax relieve from government.

I've been bent on Canada for a while till I applied for MSc admission only to be referred to PGD cos I made a lower second class. A friend in Griffith encouraged me to come to Oz that opportunities are even more there than in Canny. After stalking n under-studying this forum for a while, I took the bold step and went to BCIE for further enquiries. My extended family, I want to tell you guys that I've finally applied for MSc to Curtin university today through BCIE and will keep you guys posted. Once again I thank you all n handed everything in God's hand.

Yes you will get positive assessment from Engineers Australia but not in your nominated skill rather in another skill e.g Engineering Technologist. A friend with similar scenario as yours got a positive assessment but was given " Engineering Technologist", which was different from Telecommunication Field Engineer he nominated. He studied Mechanical Engineering from Unilag and had more than 10years of experience in Telecom industry as a Field Enigieer.

Ok, is it possible to still do this while already on a student visa, just to get a PR?

It depends on your assessing body. You will have to check the criteria for assessing telecoms engrs.

Please how did you collect your ielts result? I also took the March 14th test (Benin test center, though i registered at British Council in Port Harcourt), but whenever i log in to check the results online I always get the message " No Results found"

I mailed them on the 31st of last month and they replied that they are still processing results and then they'l have to analyse it. The email also that report form will be issued to test takers from 2nd April, apologies for the delay. Well, this is April 2nd and I tried checking online again a few mins ago and I got the same answer "No Results found"

Is this a common occurrence? What do you suggest I do next? I'm thinking of going to the British Council in PH
