omonnakoda: False negative tests has nothing to do with novelty. False negatives is a scientific concept called SPECIFICITY. It is measured in percentage virtually every test has a specificity rating.
I don't know why you are quoting me if you decided to close your mind
I mentioned A FACT
100 People who tested negative in Korea later tested positive You chose to ignore that completely and are quoting Vanguard The truth is WE DON'T KNOW YET WE DON'T KNOW about immunity If there is immunity what is the mechanism? We are still learning about this virus
Please can you give a citation for YOUR CLAIM about tests carried out in APES for Covid 19 Failure to reinfect immediately after an illness does not prove immunity That is a fabrication The point here is dormancy. Unverifiable fact. Fact without links. I guess you didn't see the facts I sited If you didn't quote me, I wouldn't have stooped so low |

omonnakoda: We do not know whether he doesn't have the virus You don't need to have the virus to infect people anyway. Shaking hands and other contaminating practice can spread the virus just like a nurse or doctor can spread it from patient to patient without having the virus There is emerging evidence from Korea where 100 people who tested negative tested positive afterwards that ,the virus may be reactivated after testing negative . There are several possible explanations for this Finally even the testing does not have 100% Specificity so there is the possibility of false negative results I.e testing negative whilst being positive We should not generalize assumptions from other viruses
Viruses can hide in strange places dormant e.g the eye, testes etc we need to be intellectually humble and not talk as if we know everything or with unjustified certainty
There was another instance in Japan https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-japan-confirms-first-case-of-person-being-reinfected-with-covid-19-11944295 Since coronavirus is a novel ailment, there are many false negative tests. That's why you hear people coming out positive again https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/04/how-false-negatives-are-complicating-covid-19-testing/However, tests carried out in laboratories on apes and evidences from some humans are pointing in the direction that once you had it, your immune system would have learnt how to eliminate it. https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg24532754-600-can-you-catch-the-coronavirus-twice-we-dont-know-yet/It all depends on how strong ur immune system is or how you've equipped it |

Galaticos444: so cos he's immune he has to put d life of others at risk He doesn't have the virus again. So, he can not infect people However, whether he can be infected again is still being debated and tests carried out on animal proved one can't be reinfected |

flexyrule: Were the commuters going to work at the airport premises? Or were there going to be suspended in the air throughout their stay in Rivers state. Won't they lodge in hotels, visit oil fields/rigs and interact with other workers? Won't these workers return home to be with their families? Lol You're talking as if those people are just entering the country with a positive test of covid-19. So you walk around daily acting like everyone has covud-19? Better don't allow fear kill u, especially not in Rivers with less than 10 positives cases Those are oil workers returning from offshore assignment. Moreover, oil workers are exempted from lockdown by FG. Are fuel stations not operating in Port Harcourt? |

Agwaso: [ quote author=skedman post=88250597] It is wike that is wrong they have followed protocol Took permission from the federal government before embarking on the trip Airport belongs to the federal government likewise it's activities .The people they carried are important people.
Please how will the expatriates leave the airport to their various locations with the lockdown. Does the federal government exclusive list cover state roads or where they planning to lodge them inside the airport. If federal government still let them come into the country, they can keep them in Abuja and Lagos. Port Harcourt do not want covid-19 infected expatraite into PH. Bravo Mr project. Since wike arrested them in the airport, we may not know that. They may decide to stay at the airport which is FG territory |

FuckAllTheMODs: Few days ago, FG cleared a flight to land in Lagos. They were oil workers(expatriates). When they landed in Lagos, they notified the government of their next destination which is Akwa-Ibom or Rivers(I can't remember the actual one).
Will you say they are foo.list for following due process by notifying the state after being cleared by FG?
Bro/Sis, don't waste your energy on these people. Let them believe whatever they want to. Thank God you said, " when they landed." Wike went to the airport to arrest these ones even b4 they landed |

Iyiataata92: I'm not much of a fan of Wike but truth be told, this company stepped on the wrong toe and they will pay dearly for that. Having a few phone numbers in Abuja doesn't place you above the law of any state. This one will hit them hard Wike is not in charge of Airports in Rivers. The company had informed the appropriate authority and approval was given. It's not the company' S fault if the airport didn't follow the state's protocol. Wike should take it up with FG and leave the innocent company alone |

Okeytus: So they have FG approval to fly into Rivers but when the pandemic escalates in Rivers, the state government will blamed An Enterprise like Caverton should be working with the state government where they operate to ensure this virus is well contained so it doesn't escalates, instead they are breaking the rules of the state; if you can't help them, why break their rules? lockdown doesn't apply only to land borders, but air and water are involved. You people are speaking as if the helicopter was loaded with corona virus. Can't we reason objectively again because we have sympathy for certain parties? Even Lagos that's the epicentre, a plane still flew over today. Did the passenger in the helicopter result to be tested? Wike is just overreacting |
