Education / Re: University Courses That Should Be Merged by blabber15(f): 3:22pm On Jan 19, 2013
ANIMAL FENCE AND WIRING?!!!!

Yeah, these courses should be studied together. But, the available spaces for students in Nigerian universities are few enough already. Merging these courses would worsen the Nigerian university admission situation
Nairaland / General / Re: How Has Nairaland Added Value To Your Life? by blabber15(f): 4:38pm On Jan 18, 2013
1. I can always find something stupid to laugh about on nairaland when I'm moody or depressed.
2. It is a really good source of information on current events (both home and abroad.) It also taught me to make sure my information is correct before tatafoing it everywhere. After causing panic with the story of a bomb blast in Wuse, and then finding out that it was a small transformer problem/explosion, I have learned to control my tongue better.
3. It gives me a place to offload my sarcasm on perfect strangers, thereby keeping my personal relationships safe and nice.

That girl needs to stop watching Nollywood movies. I'm sure that's where this risky idea came from.

Did UI cut off electricity? Normally, within six hours, you guys would have a whole page of comments if not more. What made everyone disappear?

When compared to the results of other west Africans applying to top U.S colleges, it is very poor.

Both
of you need to do your research. Kslib, please get rid of that
inferiority complex so that you will be able to make cogent, coherent
arguments. I am applying to U.S schools this year. Call any admissions
office and they will tell you that although admission is a holistic
process, Grades and rigor of the courses in your transcript are the most
important criteria. They come before essays, sat scores and recs. I
think you should take the exams again. Do you even know how difficult it
is to get a 2400 SAT? Stop jonzing and face reality. I mean, MIT has an
admit rate of less than ten percent.
EDIT: After reading my first post again, I can see how the op might have been offended. For that, I apologize. Here is a more diplomatic version of my opinion.
Natural selection, survival of the fittest, dog eat dog world. The winners in life are those who are best prepared. Intense competition exists in the applicant pools of top iniversities in the world (and even Nigeria). The admission committees have to pick people who can handle the rigor of the college academics. How do they do this? By comparing academic backgrounds. Before considering extra-curriculars and essays, the transcipt must be reviewed intensively. Do you really believe that yours is good enougj. If you answer in the affirmative, then by all means, knock yourself out- apply. But, if you agree with me, then take this year's WAEC exams, and scatter it. Add that to the other kick-ass components of your application, and you'll be a shoo-in. Now, I shall retire to my own life and stop playing the therapist. Good Luck!
P.S: Klsib, was that pathetic sniping about my phone supposed to be a dig? If it was, you need lessons ASAP!

Nigerians sha like taking panadol for other people's headaches. So the girls like getting drunk, how does that affect you? People have different opinions of what fun is, stick to yours and let them stick to theirs.

He raped you so you decided to start dating him; he molested you several times during the relationship and you don't see anything wrong? That man is trouble. You need to cut all ties. If you don't, I forsee a increasingly violent and abusive relationship in your future.

Romance / Re: I Am Beautiful by blabber15(f): 10:57pm On Oct 01, 2012
This is really cool. Young women need to understand this. They are incredibly conscious of society's dictates and often resort to harmful means to fit the mold of ''acceptable and beautiful women''. We all need to learn to accept and appreciate ourselves no matter what other people think.

Hmmm... You're playfighting with a soldier. One day na one day, a mistake will occur and you might leave this world oh. Be warned. Also, why on earth would you beat a lady? Even if she does wrong, don't you have a mouth? Tell her what she did was wrong. I don't understand why you would abuse someone you're still dating

There is nothing like agnostic theist, my friend. You could either be a
theist or an atheist, or sit on the fence like a number of my friends
and be a agnostic. There is also this term going around, secular
humanist. One who doesn't bother himself about religious questions, but
is more engaged with finding practical solutions to real human problems.

I admire your religious outlook though, and find it rather engaging. Are
you Nigerian? Well, I suppose you are. Would you get into a public
argument about religion? Are your immediate colleagues aware of your
belief? And one question I'd love to know the answer to: do you bring
your beliefs into your personal, everyday living?
If you don't mind, I'd love to add you on yim, so we can talk.
wink[/quote] agnostic theists DO exist. They are people who accept the existence of a diety but agree that proof of its existence is unknown or unknowable. Look it up. I am an agnostic atheist( i don't believe dieties exist and i know there i no evidence to prove its existence.)
