deckonne: Hey guys, I've been following the threads on canada study permit and the information here had been helpful saved me 300k from the hands of agents who know nothing.
I submitted my student visa application on 3 feb 2017, got approval mail from CIC on 23 feb, 2017 for may semester lambton college (Embedded systems engineering design). It's a two year course, i didn't get the two years. I was given a year and 3 months from start of semester because of passport validity. I learnt about the study permit not exceeding validity of the passport way after i had prepared all my documents with the passport number, i was running out of time i had to take the risk since it can be extended.
I did upfront medicals at qlife Submitted the CIC docs, Statement of purpose birth certificates of family members Sponsor's Account statement showing 12m Mother's pension documents 6m Father's Shares documents 100k Sworn affidavit from sponsor Letter of sponsorship from sponsor addressed to VO Mother's birth certificate Document to prove sponsor is my father Study leave application & approval letters Professional reference letter addressed to VO Employment letter Account statement showing paid salaries (balance is 1k) Parents' marriage certificate and documents showing father is next of kin to deceased wife Landed property documents worth 30m Letter of reference from father's employer Father's work ID card Mother's death certificate 1st semester fees receipt Offer letter Virgin passport Documents of previous education & professional certifications (B.Eng Elect/Elect) Prayers.
I'd say put yourself in the VO's shoes and give yourself everything you need to prove that you have enough funds, and you are coming back. What was your home tie? |

Hello house, I have a few inquires with regards to trv application
1. With regards to proof of financial support, I see a lot of people claim to send various documents from their sponsors like soa, court affidavit, proof/statement of assets, etc. How exactly is that possible? In the CiC portal there's only one field to upload documents as proof of means of supports. Do you combine all these documents into one PDF with multiple pages or what?
2. With regards to medical, on the CiC portal there's a field called "Request For Medical Exam (required)" and it gives you an upload option. What exactly am I to upload there? Also, if I did the upfront medical, how do I link it or inform CiC? Do I tell the hospital that it's for Canadian embassy? Will they send it immediately? And do I pay extra for them to send it?
3. With regards to passport/digital photographs, in the instructions for the format of passport, they said to sign behind the photo. Are you to scan and upload the back of the photo? That'd be weird.
4. With regards to biometrics, are you meant to do that in a special way or place? Or just at any cybercafe? Because I see a special fee for biometrics so I'm not sure.
5. Lastly I see a lot of people send documents like ielts, waec results, birth certificate, police report, transcripts etc. I don't see any field where you're given the option to upload that. So why and how do you send that?
And on a side note, what exactly could CiC want to do with your transcripts and waec result? Do they want to give me extra admission or scholarship?

I've been seeing posts about "upfront medicals" but I'm not sure I fully understand.
Can someone explain to me how that works? Also any idea of the cost of medicals in Abuja? |

penitential: same thing i said NO! since you're operating on full funding. Your dad can choose to do otherwise if his S.O.A is heavily loaded. Remember that declaring you as dependant, the V.O might be taking into consideration financial capability of your sponsor. BTW i think even if he declares you as a dependant, he will have to state his financial commitment to you, in that case the amount declared as commitment may not really affect your sister's app (if the balance on the S.O.A is okay to the V.O) Thank you Sir! |

penitential: No. He should not declare you as dependent except if you're depending on him financially. I mean I'm currently using his soa to support my application as my sponsor. But I have also been given full funding to cover tuition tuition and living expenses. I decided to use my dad as a sponsor because I read on this forum that it's not advisable to present only the funding from my masters program. So would I be considered a dependent? |

Finestlex: when I applied for visa, I have 6 siblings but I only declared 2. Declare your sister as sibling but not dependant if your dad got average finances. But if he's very wealthy, then declare as dependent One question though. When my sister is applying for her visa (in like September) if I've gotten mine, will my dad list me as a dependent (I'm admitted to a fully funded program). |

Is2bEe: your sister is out of school and working and surely over 18 years.... She's certainly NOT a dependent One question though. When she's applying for her visa (in like September) if I've gotten mine, will my dad list me as a dependent (I'm admitted to a fully funded program) |

I need advice.
My sister plans to begin her masters next year january. In the mean time she's out of school and working.
Should my Dad list her as a dependent when I'm applying for visa? Or he doesn't need to since she hasn't began studies yet. |

Osemigho: Fully funded? Can prove source of money? If yes, I believe you can shoot. Yes fully funded and the money is provable. My dad is a retired army Colonel (if that matters), and the money is from his pension and rent of properties. Just need to be sure that amount is sufficient for my sponsor (dad). |

Osemigho: According to others, 500k personal account. 1m dad or mom account with letter of support. What about just ₦2mil+ in dad's account? |

Osemigho: According to others, 500k personal account. 1m dad or mom account with letter of support. Thanks for the feedback. I dont plan to use my account. Considering using just my dads. Well that be wrong? Also will 2+ million in my sponsors account suffice? Also, in my dads affidavit of sponsorship, to what expect does he have to state that he's sponsoring me? |

If you have a fully funded admission, what's the (minimum) bank statement you should have?

Hello house, I've been following this thread for a while now but this is my first time posting.
I have a questions
I was granted a full funded admission to study in Canada, and my sister is also awaiting admission. My dads closing SOA will be enough to cover my sisters tuition and living expenses, but I read in this forum that even if you have full funding you need to present SOA. So I'm a little bit worried that if I use my dads SOA, it will affect my sisters application.
I need help with this!
If we both apply, with the same SOA, will they somehow link up our both applications? Will my dad be required to declare all his children and that he's sponsoring both of us (even though I am fully funded)?
Since I've gotten my admission early, I'm considering applying with my dad's current SOA (₦3mil) plus my full funding. And probably like by june my dad will add extra money to the account and make an SOA (closing ₦6mil) and we'll apply for my sister.
Will this be okay?
Please I need urgent guidance. |
