TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Blackanada(m): 7:05pm On May 04, 2017
Hello house, this is my first post and I have just once question regarding the €8,000 deposit.

Is this a one time deposit (required only when seeking visa) or are you required to replenish it every year while in Germany?

Someone told me that they monitor the account through out your studies and you're meant to top it up every year. If you don't top it up, what happens?

My Tips:
Before you start contacting any professor read their research publications deeply have 90% understanding these may take some time. Just Google their names, you will see their work.

Now write a good research proposal(Yes please write) send me a PM from next week, I will give you tips on how to write it.

Include your transcript, your previous research work if any, if you have attended any conference, and you presented a paper be sure to include it, if your undergraduate project was published include the paper and journal, also let a professor in your school write in your school letterhead to the supervisor describing your research potential and how passionate you are for research (Exaggerate).

More options: Write GRE. Although not necessary in canada but trust me, if you hit a high score, you are game.

Attach all these + your GRE score (optional) to your E-mail and send. 8 out of 10 times this brings success and most importantly a reply. No one neglects a good student. The world loves EXCELLENCE and doing all these shows you are serious.

If these tips don't work use the M.Eng. route and follow my earlier tips.
Hello bro, I came across a post by you with regards to research proposal. I wanted to message you to have further urgent conversation on the subject matter with you but due to technical reasons on NL I'm currently unable to send a mail.

I would be glad if we could have a chat.

My sincere appreciation goes to God for sending Horpsy5 to me in mid-December.

She came to me, via this platform, seeking help to get supervisor(s). I told her my strategy of bombarding all professor in my field of interest with well drafted email, no matter the school or location, so long it is masters.

In an attempt to provide her with list of some potential universities in her field, I realised I haven't emailed any Prof in Calgary. Immediately, I sent an email with my well drafted research proposal to about 4 profs in my area of interest there, telling them I need supervisor for the research. Amazingly, I got two yes in less than 24hrs.
.....
Hello bro, I sent you a PM. I would like to discuss with you with regards to writing a research proposal. Please reply my mail at your earliest convenience.

@ Surgee, we should understand that grace of God comes with being proactive & informed. Faith without knowledge is a pipe-dream.

In Nairaland travel section, the purpose is information sharing.

If you have ideas on writing superb research proposals; you share, you have a unique way of writing that brings opportunities; you share.

You have ideas on getting internships that can help, you share.

That way everyone becomes more knowledgeable, more enlightened, more useful to themselves and overall become better for the purpose of "TRAVELLING TO CANADA AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT"

Cheers.
Honestly your post here are some of the best around. You understand how a thread like this should function and leave out personal sentiments.

I share your opinion. Reading through his post all I kept on wondering was how he structured his research proposals. But I didn't see none of that, all I saw was have faith.

There have been a lot of Christians, Muslim's and traditional worshippers (I suppose) who have gotten TRV and also rejected. If religious faith is given all the credits, then there'll be serious contradictions here.

I think people should endeavour to emphasise the practical measures taken to compose their applications. That will be more helpful to everyone.

At what instance have you made this judgement?@bold

Better chance here should mean level of study, in-line with previous study or current activity (work, research) and not necessarily something else. Any offer with a DLI code on it is very well approved and qualified to seek a study permit be it top ranked or least ranked school.
@bold, I'm referring to UAlberta and UWaterloo. In my field they're both ranked 4 and 3 respectively, so I doubt in that sense any one would provide significant edge over the other for trv approval. Moreover I applied for same course at both schools.

Thanks for your advice though.

With regards to switching after trv approval, must I be in Canada before I can officially changed programs?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Blackanada(m): 8:50pm On Mar 19, 2017
Austinpee4:
You can and will follow the procedure of changing programs or institution.

Nevertheless, you should wait and get admitted to a program that will give you a better chance of obtaining a study permit be it your "dream school" or any other one as it is one thing to get admission and another to get a study permit.

If your "dream" school offer will give you a higher chance, you should wait for it and apply for a study permit with that.
Thanks for the response. I dont think either of the schools I present a better chance at trv. My motivations for my dream school are mostly sentimental.

I just want to know the possibilities. You're given a deadline to accept an offer, so I don't want to pass this one by and then get rejected.

If trv is granted, is the process of switching schools cumbersome?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Blackanada(m): 7:12pm On Mar 19, 2017
Ogas wey dey house, I hail!

Abeg I'd like to know if it's okay to accept admission to two schools.

For example, if I applied to two schools and I get admission to one of them, but my dream school is yet to decide.

If I use my current school to apply for study permit, and during the period I get accepted by my dream school, can I still accept and attend that one?

What would be involved? Is it a complicated process?

Wow....you really took time to package your applications this year. For me I don't have any supervisors in UofT. How do u think this will affect my application? It's stated on their site that international applicants will need to secure a supervisor that will guarantee their funding in case one isn't able to secure a research lab after the 3 rotations. So does this mean its possible I may be given a conditional admission (with the above condition to fulfill) and if that be the case will it pose a problem for TRV application.
Oga, not to discourage you, but no UofT we dey talk. Dem dey send out Reject like sey na Christmas gift.

Conditional admit to find a supervisor is very unlikely unless you're nothing short of exceptional. They don't lack good applicants with supervisor backing.

Honestly if they said you will need to secure a supervisor, then that's exactly what it is, the other details are just there to qualify the statement in case of exceptional situations.

But keep up the faith. I hope your field isnt extremely competitive.

HEY HOUSE ABEG ONLY ONE QUESTION

1. I HAVE A BA IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, I WANT TO PROCEED FOR MY MASTERS AT A VERY CHEAP AND AFFORDABLE UNI IN CANADA, WITH A TUITION RANGE OF 4000K CAD. OR SCHOLARSHIP AS MY GPA IS HIGH.

I INTEND TO SPONSOR MY SELF. WITH VERY LITTLE HELP FORM FAMILY.

I DON'T KNOW MY LEFT FROM MY LEFT.

SUCCOR PLEASE.
1. You shouldn't type in all capitals, if everyone did, this forum would be an eyesore.

2. In this forum detail is of utmost importance.
"my gpa is high" is vague and can easily be misleading. What exactly is your gpa?

3. 4000k is not a range.

4. You also haven't stated your credentials. Work experience, graduation year, etc.

5. @bolded you said you had one question only. But I don't see any questions. What is your question?

Update
You also don't need to repost it 3 times consecutively. You wrote in all capitals, it's hard not to see. I'm sure everyone can see it. Just be patient. When someone with requisite knowledge on the matter views it, you will get fair direction.

Hello house, am down and scared after going through posts stating here that there must be academic progression. I dropped my CIC TRV /STUDY permit app few days before I got to know about this forum. I am a graduate of industrial chemistry 2.2 with G.P.A 3.25. Having worked as QC officer in the manufacturing sector for about a year I saw the need to develop myself in process control. I applied to NBCC diploma program for PROCESS CONTROL but hope to do a master after the diploma program . my TRV application Completed with the following doc: affidavit of sponsorship, offer letter, statement of account, sponsorship letter, tax clearance, landed properties, BSc cert, waec, LOE stating career path, current employment letter, work ID,Full tuition payment receipt. Please can someone tell me something?
Well done.

Thanks but you dont get me right. why will he send me money? for wetin nah? all am saying is that when I ask him to be my supervisor last year before gaining admission, I did not ask him for funding for my research MSC or whether there is funding . I only ask for supervision. That is the reason why am seeking advice if I can actually ask him if he has funding?

hope you get my question now.
Do you mean you want him to tell you the details of your funding or for him to send you the money now?
Yeah I suspected you might mean that. But the first person that replied you insunuated otherwise.

If it's a research program, he should have informed you on the availability of finding already. You can politely ask him if there are any available funding opportunities. I don't think that's anything won't work that. Just don't try not to sound imposing.

A simple "I would like to know if there are any available funding opportunities" would do.

And sorry for the initial misunderstanding.

Goodmorning Everyone and the Gurus in the house. Please I want to ask if it is advisable to tell my supervisor I have gotten my Visa to resume school. Also can I ask for funding at this time from him for Fall term oooooo.

What do you think Gurus and everyone?
My first question, why would you want to tell your supervisor you've gotten visa? What do you expect him to do about that?

And secondly what do you mean by "ask for funding"? Do you mean you want him to tell you the details of your funding or for him to send you the money now?

If you mean you want the money now, just don't bring that up. He will definitely not give you any money, and will make you seem really dubious and spoil your relationship before it even starts. Also, funding is usually payment for a service, teaching assistanship or research assistanship. Why would he pay you before you've started rendering this service?

Hello respected housemates,

Please I need an answer to my curiosity, I applied to the University of Saskatchewan sometimes last year October with all requirements fully completed, but I am surprised I'm yet to hear from them. Getting nervous.

My program is scheduled to start by September fall 2017, till now the Graduate administrator told me I would be inform on the admission outcome as soon as the committee sit.

I will be glad to know if there's anyone with experience of what I'm currently passing through. I'm concerned with the visa processing time. And funding is one big obstacle ahead.

Thanks as you respond.
You'll be hearing from them soon. Most Canadian institutions implicity or explicitly forwarded their applications deadline which delayed the timeline this year.
My schools were explicit about it, but some institutions weren't. I remember one guy posted here some time ago that it was his potential supervisor that informed him. That was either USask or MUN. Can't remember exactly right now.

But starting last week all institutions have started officially making decisions so you'll hear from them soon.

Good afternoon house, I have applied for admission at NBCC awaiting to get admission.but I am.confused the person helping on the process said he will stage my brother as my dad since my dad does not have a SOA that has up to 15m, I have changed my birth certificate in the sense that my brother now stands as my dad and his wife as my mum because most of his documents has his wife name on it also. Please am getting confused as I dont want to be denied a TRV.

Kindly help.
First, why not just use your brother as sponsor rather than this whole complicated process that essentially adds no value?

Second, you don't need an agent.

There is a little contradiction btw CIC website and the Visa office for required SOA. 4 months and 6months respectively.

I'll advise you present that of 6 months since it will also meet both the website and the Visa office requirements.

If you graduated 2004, means you have 12 years experience plus nysc. You stated you applied for a 1 year course, so it's most likely PGD/PGC.

These courses are often geared towards those looking to enter the job market (often those fresh out of college). You have 12years experience so thats a big question mark.

Also, I'm not very knowledgeable of your field, but is supply chain management closely related to economics and your work experience?
