Undergraduate oh

This thread are so long they have got 159 pages how do I read the whole 159 threads
You don't need to read everything, but you can use the search feature of Nairaland or even google, and in less than 30minutes you'll know most things you need to know.

In German education system there's no handholding, it's swim or drown. You need to learn to be able to research stuff on your own if you want to survive the education system there.

It's 1.55 assuming that the lowest pass grade for your school is 1.
Kk..so wat are my chances of admission.
I strongly doubt that the lowest pass grade for your school is 1. Then what's the fail grade? Only 0?

Check your grading description on your transcript and verify.

it is optional. I did printed mine and I am in Germany now
I have no idea of when you went to Germany or what the requirement was, but right now it's requested to be handwritten.

On their requirements PDF, it's even bolded and underlined to highlight it, so I personally would advice against typing it.

Please let's make an effort to verify information so as to avoid unintentionally misdirection.

@ Jigba, what I am saying is that it is sad to be treated as a second class citizen in your home country. Of course I knew that there is racism and all manner of discrimination in Germany, at least in another man's countries I know where I belong so am not expecting to be treated as king. Empowerment is what is driving most guys to foreign country. Thanks for reminding me of eastern germany, its my CGPA that is pushing me to all nooks and crannies of germany. Its in God's hand.
Eastern Germany isn't as bad as made seem. I second your initial opinion that discrimination is worse here. I studied in Ukraine which is notoriously known for being racist, far more than Eastern Germany. I never had any major race-related altercation. I felt more comfortable and less discriminated than I have been in certain parts of Nigeria.
Even in conservative parts of Germany their problem is mainly with Muslims and foreigners who refuse to accept to the German culture and way of life. Even worse, they dislike unemployed foreigners.

If you're working, and respect German cultural and act according to their social norms, you shouldn't have any problems.

I guess most schools offering Engineering courses in English in Germany only has winter admission for the courses. Well the plan is I am applying as an undergraduate... Already a graduate here already. I am applying to study Information Engineering.

I want to send my 100L result + WAEC result + Working experience(employment letters).

Question 1, Do I need to write something like Oracle Java Associate/Professional Developer to boost my chance.(I guess admission will be very competitive for free education in a school where the course is the only course taught in English)
2. How do I certify my 100L results, I downloaded it from my school website. I need VPD to certify my credentials before applying to the school.
Why not go for MSc?

Since you mentioned Java, Oracle, etc. I'm guessing you're going for either computer, electrical or electronics related engineering. In that case have you seen any school offering this in English? I strongly doubt.

Sorry for this too many questions on letter of motivation. Is there an address or it should be written without one
I can't speak authoritatively on this matter as I am yet to do my interview. But as a rule of thumb, I don't think anyone will penalise you for addressing your letter. So personally I will address mine.

You can google "German student visa motivation letter" for more tips and samples.

The highlighted isn't true although in some cities it's possible. I no hear Deutsche but I dey jab. My advice for u guys is Just do all ur best to get here and people around you would show you how things are.

Success stories ahead to you all.
I second that, especially since he asked about Berlin which has one of the highest English speaking population. Also know people hustling in other smaller cities without much German skills.

And if you're into IT, the merrier.

ok, thank you, but am uploading online, not mailing it to the school
Then why are you certifying?

Anyway, certification is to prove that a photocopy is the same as the original, so you can't certify an original document.

And typically if you're uploading online, you don't need to certify, just scan the original. Unless otherwise requested.

Nothing stops you from applying to Master of Science in Power Engineering at TUM.

Remember to apply to other schools and/or other courses at TUM as Plan B, Plan C et al.

Don't let the fear of rejection or competition make you not to try.
@bolded is the point I was passing to him. Not that he shouldn't apply but he shouldn't be fixated on TUM. Cast his net as wide as reasonably possible.

My sincere apologies , I might have misconstrue you . However ,if you can advise on other schools I can apply to with higher chance of been admitted ,pls let me know .I want to pursue Msc in power engineering ,thanks
I haven't specifically researched on Power Engineering but there are a lot if programs related to electrical engineering.

Follow this link and go through the various programs. You can also filter it further as you deem fit.

https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/?p=l&q=&degree[]=2&fos=4&subject[]=710&lang[]=2&fee[]=0&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list

Depending on your acquired expertise you may also consider related programs. For example I have a BSc in Telecommunications but I'm going for a higher degree in Computer Science.

Please apply for as many relevant programs as possible.

Pls can u help me with the format for CV
For what do you want to utilize the CV?

If it's for school application, unless the school expressly stated format there's no standard format requirement. If the school explicitly stated a format, then use the stated format.

As far as I know, Embassy doesn't have a format requirement either. Their only requirement is that it contains all visited schools, universities as well as listing all employers until date of visa application.

Any way you decide to format it, just make sure it's clear to anyone reading it.

As a rule of thumb though, you can't go wrong with a tabular CV (if it's clear).

cry cryVery correct!! Please guys on this forum, if you have not received your admission letter or you haven't applied yet please I beg of you, do not book an appointment date yet PLEASE. MY COURSE START DATE IS IN FEBRUARY!! Being trying to book since last night, but all the dates are unavailable from now till February. I am so heart broken right now.
I posted this before:

Blackanada:
Don't worry yourself so much, but be on the watch. Most people can't honour their dates. As January draws closer a lot of people will free up their dates to avoid getting suspended. Get all your documents prepared, so that in the event this happens you can quickly take advantage.
Two people in shoes similar to yours have recently followed this advice and were eventually able to reschedule to earlier dates.

Sir, thanks so much for the link. I was able to get a booking for 6th Feb. Thanks again.

But.....

I discovered that the mail I was sent was purely in German. Though I find my way around it using Google Translate. There's also the small matter of the not requesting my account opening form et al. Is this normal?

Was asked to print the mail and bring it to the interview... I'm thinking they're referring to the German written booking appointment mail... Is that correct?

I'd be glad if you can shed more light on this and any other booking appointment info you feel we should get!

Thanks for being your brother's keeper.
Yeah, sometimes the mail is in German, sometimes in English. Just print it and take it with you as it is.

If you ever have to reschedule, make sure you do it at least one week before your booked date, or you'll face suspension.

That's all I think one needs to know about that.

Good luck.

1. Should the visa application form ideally be filled by pen or computer?

2. It asks how I will be accommodated, but I'm yet to secure an accommodation, so which should I select? (see image below)

If the passport is older than 5 years, then no worries.
Thanks a lot for your feedback.

@bolded: my worry is that if I use my old passport as the biographically old document, they might misunderstand why I submitted photocopies of 2 different passports (both old and new one).

Once again, thanks for your response. #Appreciated

Please boss give your input.

1. Can my old passport serve as my biographically old document?

2. Will I be rejected if I don't have primary school certificate. Is it a necessity?
And if, so can the fact that I'm funded by German government help?

my brother , na wa u dey hash ooo. At least u go go ask which course I wan study before u thinking say na part of failure I dey .

Well if u care to know I bin don get electrical electronics for bachelors and currently running NAPTIN so I no dey dat dull na.Just advise me on steps and no wish me failure

Thanks
Well if you think I'm wishing you failure then you totally missed the point cos in reality I'm tying to help you out.

You asked for the application process, that makes it obvious you either haven't decided on the exact program you want to study at TUM or you don't know enough about the program.

Why I'm pointing this out is because a lot of people go to TUM for the hype (and so seems your case) and most of them get disappointed when they get rejected and realize that TUM is a bit more competitive than most other schools (especially for Engineering and CS), and they could have applied elsewhere, also for a course that actually has a better fit for them. Plus, in Germany no one cares about where you studied. They maintain similar standards among all higher institutions. No one will give you special respect for having a TUM degree. Absolutely no company cares.

Well sorry if you think I'm wishing you bad luck, just trying to prevent you from making a mistake most people make. If you wish to go on, I sincerely wish you the best of luck and would be disposed to help as much as I can.

To answer your original question about the application process, no one can tell you the process unless they know which exact department and program you're applying to at TUM.

Hello everyone , I am interested in running a masters in TUM coming next admission year, though do not know step by step into the application process. I will be glad if I can get someone to help out and I shall appreciate the person with a token .Thanks
This is exactly the best way towards failure.

Why TUM?
You aren't even certain what course you're going in for or the application process, but your already decided on TUM.

I can't think of a worse way to go about master's application.
