Residents of this neighbourhood in Owerri, Imo State woke up to the shouts of fire, which had engulfed a 2-storey building within the neighborhood. According to the eye-witness (Nnamdi Nwaigwe) who took the photos, the Imo State Fire Service Men later intervened, but that was after much damage had been done. The response was rather slow, but all the same, the fire was eventually put out. But worst still, the Firemen came with rather poor gadgets and it was even said that they worked with ordinary muftis. That's quite unprofessional. We hope the government can do more in equipping these guys. But notwithstanding, the fire was quenched and no casualty was recorded. http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/05/photos-house-on-fire-in-owerri-today.html

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo over the past weekend in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, unveiled a new initiative tagged ‘Zero Hunger’ to clearly articulate what the country needs to do to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs). Obasanjo tasked the Federal Government to, as a matter of urgency, ban importation of vegetables, carrots, cucumber, lettuce and other fruits into the nation. Obasanjo bared his mind at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan at the inaugural meeting of the ‘Nigeria Zero Hunger Strategic Review’ Committee comprising an assemblage of representatives of the World Food Program, African Development Bank, members of the Diplomatic Corps, captains of industry as well as technocrats drawn from both the public and private institutions across the country. Addressing the forum, Chief Obasanjo, who is the convener of the initiative called for collective change of mind from all Nigerians insisting that a multi-stakeholder and multi-dimensional approach is highly desirable to achieve the goal of a zero hunger nation by 2025 ahead of the 2030 deadline given by the United Nations. He declared: “Although the SDGs are laudable, the key to achieving them depends on implementation and our collective will. Let me reiterate that the task of attaining the SDGs cannot be left for the government alone, neither can it be left for the civil society nor the private sector. It is going to take the collective effort of each and every citizen of this great nation and our partners. It will require our collective change of mindset to at first identify the opportunities that abound. It is in this context that we have invited you to this meeting. We will be looking at the second goal of the SGDs which is Zero Hunger. Our main focus will be to clearly articulate what the country needs to do to achieve the SGDs.” http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/obasanjo-unveils-zero-hunger-initiative/144797.html

A 40-year-old man has been accused of beating his ex-wife’s four-year-old son, to death after she had revealed that the child wasn't his. The suspect identified as Jean-Charles Artaban, had reportedly killed the victim identified as, Matheo, who he had once thought was his son, before decapitating him and feeding his head to dogs, then burning the remaining parts of his body at his home on Jean Robert Street in Beaulieu in Saint-Benoit, Madagascar on June 17, 2013. Arteban had reportedly committed the crime after he had been told by his ex wife, Yasmin that Matheo wasn't his, and the gruesome scene had only been discovered by the emergency services when Yasmin had called them in a panic, begging for them to save her son 's life. The suspect is reported to have taken a strain of cannabis, called ‘zamal’ in the local creole dialect, on the fateful evening when the gruesome events had taken place. The reports further reveal that during the Police interrogation following his arrest, Artaban had said he didn't remember what had happened that night. Arteban revealed that he remembered beating Yasmine after she had told him Matheo wasn't his and remembered that she had run away, leaving the boy behind but that was all he could remeber. Arteban was reportedly found guilty of murder, acts of torture, and barbarity following his arrest and court trail, bagging life imprisonment. This case becomes the first incident of a life sentence being handed down in the French island of Reunion, off the coast of Madagascar, since 2003. Psychiatric experts reportedly reveal that Arteban is incapable of "showing any regret or any empathy," adding that, throughout the two-day trial, he had simply remained still and unmoved in the dock. http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/05/man-kills-his-4-year-old-step-son-and.html lalasticlala

What people especially teenagers post on social media these days is quite alarming. This young girl decided to become the rave of the moment by wining attention of guys with this controversial picture. The secondary school student (judging from her profile) -has been trolled online by critics after the picture went viral on Facebook. I think it is time a Subject on Social Media Ethics is being taught in these High Schools, before our girls go totally nak**ed on the street. http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/05/teenage-girl-comes-under-fire-after.html

This Old Mama just no want grow old. This is quite an outrageous dressing, in my own opinion for a 57 year old woman, but it is her life I must say and we human beings should always learn to accept others as they are and to what they want for themselves. She has although fired back at critics over this particular outfit she wore to the Met ball. The 57 year old was blasted for flaunting her body at her age ad some termed it disgraceful and desperate. In response, she says women should be allowed to wear what they want irrespective of their age. "We have fought and continue to fight for civil rights and gay rights around the world. When it comes to Women's rights we are still in the dark ages. My dress at the Met Ball was a political statement as well as a fashion statement. The fact that people actually believe a woman is not allowed to express her sexuality and be adventurous past a certain age is proof that we still live in an age-ist and sexist society. I have never thought in a limited way and I'm not going to start. We cannot effect change unless we are willing to take risks By being fearless and By taking the road leas traveled by. Thats how we change history. If you have a problem with the way I dress it is simply a reflection of your prejudice. I'm not afraid to pave the way for all the girls behind me‼️ As Nina Simone once said, the definition of freedom is being fearless. I remain Unapologetic and a Rebel ❤️ in this life and all the others. Join my fight for Gender. Equality!" http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/05/see-what-madonna-wore-to-met-ball.html

This is surely another publicity stunts by a public servant. Governor of Adamawa state Jibrilla Bindow is pictured above and below buying fruits along Lamiwa road in Adamawa. The governor is said to have stopped his convoy so he could have some fruits. Yes, the governor is human, he could also crave for fruits, but must it be a show for the camera? We all know you guys are working for us, we don't need to see you doing packing our gutters before we believe that you are working. Anyways, those fruits are fresh. Can i have some? http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/05/adamawa-governor-seen-buying-fuits-by.html lalasticlala

Pre-wedding photoshoot was a cool concept when it was initiated. I mean who doesn't want to tell a visual story with their nuptials? But with new types of "creative" photo shoot ideas like this, it isn't cool anymore... Can someone even explain the idea behind this one to me? Why is the guy pulling his babe's hair like Fulani herdsman pulling the tail of a cow? Plus the babe go don get leg cramp taya before they take picture finish... Nawa oh! Wetin we no go see for Naija. http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/05/seriously-someone-should-stop-these-pre.html

This is just another twist to the Tiwa Vs Tee Billz Scandal. Someone has just come out to say Tee Billz is an irresponsible husband, who feeds on his wife, Tiwas's success, the person is no other than Foluke Daramola's Husband, Olukayode Salako. Pleae read on as BBBabes compiles for you what he has also got to say. Salako, the National Coordinator of Change Agency of Nigeria Network, CANN, in the wake of the ongoing crisis rocking the singer’s marriage to her husband and father of her son, spoke with newsmen in Lagos on Tuesday, stating that Marriage is supposed to be enjoyed and not endured. He said, “Marriage is not run on the struggle of only the woman, especially with an irresponsible man, who manifest incurable dirty habits and never psychologically balanced. “Tiwa deserves to be happy, though she cannot be perfect. One, she is a top celebrity. Two, she is a young woman who deserve a man who can understand this and continue to support and manage her inadequacies, at least to a reasonable extent. “They are always under serious pressure to be distracted not to do some things right, not even when she appeared to be the bread winner. “I watched the video of the interview with rapt attention from beginning to end and at a point I didn’t know when a tear ran down my check, at the point Tiwa broke down. “Her testimonies were real, original and sincere as far as I am concerned. I do not feel she told any lie at all about the situation. I am convinced Teebillz has not been a responsible, mature, caring and mentally balanced man enough around that poor woman. “You cannot sustain a celebrity marriage, if you cannot over look certain tendencies around your woman. “Anyway, I am never one person who believes that marriage must continue to be a do or die affair. May be the guy is not even her destined man for marriage. ”May be! I am convinced Tiwa wanted the marriage, but it is Teebillz who did not know how to run it with her. “She has narrated her own side of the story and I think that was not good enough to sustain that marriage. I told my wife. I won’t believe anything that is running on the social media until I hear Tiwa’s side of the story. Tiwa won’t ever be a happy and fulfilled woman if she continues to live like the way she has narrated with her hubby. “Marriage is supposed to be enjoyed and not endured, not even with a man like Teebillz,” the top crusader added. http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/05/tee-billz-is-irresponsible-husbandhe.html

The Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday said his criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari was not borne out of his hatred for him but out of his conviction that at 73, Buhari was not strong enough to lead a complex country like Nigeria. The governor, who spoke at an event organised by the Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists to celebrate the World Press Freedom Day in Ibadan, said those who voted for Buhari in the last presidential election did not know who he was. He stressed that in the last one year, Nigeria had never had it so bad, noting that the fuel crisis, exchange rate of dollar to naira, killings by Fulani herdsmen and power situation were indices that showed that Buhari’s government lacked the idea to rule the country. Fayose said, “People say that I abuse Buhari, I am not abusing him because he is like my grandfather but I know the history. Eighty per cent of people that voted for Buhari in the South-West did not know him. They are between 18 and 40. They voted because they wanted change desperately and I agree with them. He left government 32 years ago so they did not experience his rule. “Today, the Peoples Democratic Party is no longer in government so they should stop blaming the PDP. They told us that dollars would become one to one with the naira. But where is that today? The regime of fuel subsidy is gone and we now have food subsidy. Queues are back at petrol stations. Whatever I say is divine. The next thing to happen will be the removal of the Kogi State governor. I have not lost a battle in my life and when I lost one, I came back to win. “We have never had it so bad like in the last 12 months; electricity has gone to zero and we no longer have light in our houses. I am here to tell Nigerians that we are in the wrong direction because you cannot give what you don’t have. There is a time to retire because of the diminishing return on the functionality of the brain. At 75, my mother can do little.” The governor also criticised the anti-corruption war of Buhari, describing it as biased. “When you want to deal with corruption, do it wholeheartedly. Don’t say because this person has now joined the All Progressives Congress, he is now a saint. When I was supporting the ACN, they gave me many titles. Now that I am no longer with them, they see me as an enemy,” he said. http://www.punchng.com/73-buhari-lacks-ideas-run-nigeria-fayose/ lalasticlala

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has described Governor Ayodele Fayose as an ingrate for saying that he would not support him (George) to become the national chairman of the party. George also slammed Fayose for saying that PDP elders must take the backstage in the party’s affairs. Speaking during an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Fayose had blamed the loss of the 2015 general election on the elders of the party. Fayose also dismissed the report that he was supporting the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Modu Sheriff, so that he (Sheriff) could pick him as his running mate when Sheriff finally declares his intention to run for the presidency. The Ekiti governor had said, “Chief Bode George told me personally that he wanted to be the national chairman of the party, I told him no, that I won’t support him. With all due respect to the elderly people in this party, they must take the backstage. People are tired of seeing the same old faces again.” But speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Monday, George said Fayose was opposing the interest of the South-West in the party, adding that his comments showed that he was an immature politician. While stressing that the party needed experienced and matured leaders to pilot its affairs, George said age was not a barrier to good leadership but an asset. He said the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was older than him. George said if the chairmanship position was eventually zoned to the South-West, he would consult with family and friends on whether or not to contest, adding that politics was not a do-or-die affair. “The kind of chairman the PDP needs is someone that has integrity, one that is trusted and established,” he said. George added, “Fayose spoke very immaturely during the interview. For him to have said that the founding fathers of the party should take the backstage in the party’s affairs was very disgusting and self-deceitful. I actually told him at an old meeting of the party that if the chairmanship of the PDP was zoned to the South-West, that I would show interest. He told me he had heard. “Fayose is an ingrate because when the world was against him during his first term in office, God used me to give him support. I contributed N250,000 to purchase his campaign clothes. We must defend the interest of Yoruba because we have been sidelined in the party’s leadership for too long. Fayose and Senator Buruji Kashamu cannot continue to decide for the Yoruba people in the PDP.” George also said Fayose lied that South-West PDP leaders did not show interest in contesting the national chairmanship position. He added that Fayose’s claim that he reached out to Senator Bode Olajumoke to contest the chairmanship position was not true. He said, “Fayose claims to be a Christian. Let him go and read the book of Micah, chapter 7, from verse 1-10 to learn more about leadership. Many people showed interest from the South-West, even Prof. Tunde Adeniran showed interest. Bode (Olajumoke) knows that Fayose is playing around. Bode and I discussed because we are friends.” http://www.punchng.com/fayose-ingrate-says-bode-george/

All women should be concerned about their vaginal health. A healthy vagina is naturally acidic and contains rich quantities of beneficial bacteria that help fend off infections and maintain a normal pH level. A healthy vagina will also secrete small amounts of discharge to keep itself clean, much as saliva is produced to help cleanse your mouth. Any interference with these normal conditions, and you may face vaginal irritation or infection. Here’s how to keep your vagina healthy. 1. Use Condom. You know that rubbers are great at protecting against STDs and pregnancy, but a study suggests that using condoms helps keep your vagina’s pH level at the status quo so good bacteria, like lactobacilli, can survive in there. And this is super important since those little bacteria help prevent yeast infections, UTIs, and bacterial vaginosis. Just in case you needed another reason to wrap things up. 2. Wear Cotton Underwear. When it comes to your underwear selection, your vagina has a preference: cotton. That’s why most underwear comes with a thin strip of cotton fabric in the crotch. 3. Work It Out. Doing kegels is crucial for strengthening your pelvic floor muscles, which are key in producing stronger, mind-blowing orgasms—not to mention bladder control. Note to self: Include kegels in every workout. 4. Take Yogurt. Snacking on yogurt with live cultures helps boost the good bacteria in your hoo-ha, which, as you know, is all around fantastic for preventing annoying vaginal problems like yeast infections. Just be careful that you’re not noshing on the super-sugary kind, because that could make you more susceptible to those infections. 5. Use Lubricant. Sometimes when you’re about to hit the sheets, it seems like your vagina just didn’t get the memo. But it’s totally normal—vaginal dryness can impact you if you take certain medications like antihistamines, antidepressants, or hormonal birth control. It can also crop up after pregnancy or shortly before menopause. When this happens, make sure you’re communicating with your partner so they don’t forge ahead before you’re properly lubricated, which is obviously painful and can cause abrasions. more: http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/04/5-ways-to-keep-your-vagina-clean.html
