Tongue in cheek. Slow down Buhari's daughter. Even if thats the sum total of the situation, which i dont think actually is, you should learn to be humble in victory, Nuff said.... |
For me i think he's only gonna use "4" years, just like Mandela did. I doubt if he'll wanna stay beyond that even if he's asked to carry on. But i also believe 4 years is quite a reasonable amount of time for any serious leader to make an impact in any administrative endeavour.... |
Not really sure which section this falls under, but how true is this?

And this also goes to those clamouring for Fashola. Fashola aint qualified. One of d requirements for d post is having worked in any security agencies or having military background, so unless he has any of these, he aint qualified. echobee: |

I saw these two pieces of profound opinions, one by a popular blogger of sorts and a reaction by one of his/ her followers. Think its somewhat worth a debate... Africa's newest statesman. I think we should really appreciate our president for his sportsmanship and peaceful decision to concede defeat, it shows that he is not a sore loser and places the stability of the nation above his own personal interest. Some people are saying he has no choice that if he tried any nonsense, he'd end up like Gbagbo. Who told you that one? Do you know how long they've issued a warrant of arrest for President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan? It is not that easy to pick up a president, especially the president of Nigeria who is still the Commander-in-Chief of the continent's fourth largest armed forces with millions ready to fight on his side. Take it or leave it, some in Jonathan's cabinet, like Godsday Orubebe and probably even his wife, would have told him not to accept but I guess when he was alone and thought about how history would judge him, he did the right thing. Do you the impact that will have on other African nations? Do you know what that has done to our image globally? That we did not need France, USA and the UN to intervene? His term still remains two full months and that is more than enough for him to destabilize all of West Africa and lead to a civil war or even break up the federal republic, or can't you see some people already shouting secession? Some people are shouting America will not allow Jonathan to do any nonsense but has America being able to remove Bashar al-Assad? Jonathan can secure the help of a global power like Assad did and he wil hold on to power, even if will mean a war but he did not. He could have orchestrated chaos but he did not. It is never an easy thing to accept defeat, it means swallowing your pride and ego because you believe in the greater good. You all know I am not his best fan but he has earned my lasting respect for that singular action. Yes, he made his mistakes, many would like to see him jailed but is anything greater than peace? We should appreciate him because this is Africa, a continent where incumbents don't surrender without fighting dirty. Once again, thank you Mr. President. When all the proceed of Fuel Subsidy fraud, Missing $20 Billion, Missing Pension Funds et al has been accounted for. Then I can call him an Hero. Nigerians are too quick to swing opinions and still refuse to see that their leaders must be held accountable for their time in Office to set a good example for future Leaders. GEJ knew it was suicidal for him to either annul the Election or sit tight. He doesn't have such a Power base to effect such move, the African Union & the rest of the World have distanced from him. Foreign troops are already on stand by inside and outside of Nigeria. The Nigerian Military has no force cohesion and risk Mutiny. So, Kofi Annan and the rest only did one thing; help him arrange an exit Strategy. A negotiation which has been ongoing for Months unknowingly to his supporters. Soon, all of you will realise the extent of damage and rot that took place during the last 6 years. |
Jega aint qualified. One of d requirements for d post is having worked in any security agencies or having military background, so unless he has any of these, he aint qualified. |
D sarcasm in ur post isnt unnoticed though.... |
No sir! More like SW neutralised d entire chance of a GEJ return. If for nothing on simple majority, d five states with 25% of d two thirds required given to GMB in d SW nailed his coffin! eCollynzo: |
Hmmmmmm......And you think after gate crashing, they can still bluff their way up d ladder without a fight by those who brought about d victory? Ideally it wuldv sufficed better to hav a SEastnr as d Sen Pres. but its a hard call as things stand. suwailad: |
Long thing lol. Geo-spread cannot be over-emphasised in d scheme of things. Highly inconceivable to have SW occupy no 2 & 3. It wont work! chibabe3: |
ireneony: not forgetting that this election was rigged by apc(in the north), jonathan was wise enough to succumb to defeat cos he does not want killing of of innocent citizens in the north.. ^^^^ You gat some other name for what went down in Rivers, Akwa Ibom & Delta babe? |
I agree, especially in Imo. D foolish pdp noodles will make us believe d North rigged but I wonder why ther were no protests ther like it happened in d case of apc in d SS, for that matter. |

Im particularly irked by d endlessly wanton & unbriddled impunity by him & his cronies at almost every level of government. |
Dem don start. Filthy as pigs. |
He should b offered to d gods as sacrifice for d cleansin & rebirth of a new nigeria....lol giantstrides: |
My only suggestion will just be that NNPC. He should sanitize it. That place stinks to high heavens... |
Hey watch your bp bru. Why d heat under the collar now? |
Initially all I ever cared was for GEJ to be disgraced & booted out of office for such gross ineptitude all through his time in government but all that bile, the disappointments was undone by just one single stroke of his very uncanny, calculated & matured response to this election outcome. Now, I have nothing more than praise for him, the men and women that without fail has stood the test of time to fill the roles of weighty responsibilities that mere mortals like me can only dream of. I wish you well Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and loads of rest that you most truely deserve when you leave in some eight weeks time. Meanwhile, still expecting his memoir at some point titled, HOW I ALMOST DESTROYED NIGERIA WITHOUT THE USE OF A SINGLE NUCLEAR WARHEAD. |
