Trump will soon land his hammer on AfDB and all these ones beating their chest about buhari will scamper for safety.

He'll freeze the hell out of your US assets and accounts in Afdb and you'll all start running helter-skelter. grin
This one is still a slave. Highest he'll do is pull USA out of the bank, the Chinese and Russians will happily buy their shares and life goes on in Africa.

If obaseki decamps to PDP he will loose because oshiomole will bring federal might and I doubt Edo can withstand federal might like Rivers in 2019 His best bet is APC ticket.

Sentiments aside, nature blessed the Niger Delta with natural resources but ended up undermining it by making it a Babelian society.

To be honest with you, a Nigerian Delta Rep will sink into a civil war no sooner it gains independence. South Sudan is an example of how a heterogeneous and resource rich country will decend into chaos once left on their own. Ijaw will be the greatest undoing to any nation it is part of and I will give you reasons.

1. They have a topography that makes guerilla warfare easy and convenient to embark on.

2. They have oil resources that can sustain any warlord who wants to fight the government.

3. They don't believe in deplomacy rather they are aggressive and voilent when going for what they want, naturally lazy and are a band of disjointed ethnicity with many dissimilar subgroups.

I have studied the disparate ethnic groups in the Niger Delta and Ijaws are the ones that would destabilize any country that forms there. Already, they are fighting with virtually all its neighbors at the moment and the formation of a new country will cause the faultlines to deepen since there won't be external bigger enemies to fight.

Igbos will have a moderating influence if the whole region becomes one country but even at that it is still too risky for me compared to an only Igbo country that will have relative peace and stability.

Lastly, I don't think there is ever any state, least of all in Africa that has just one ethnic group so it may be difficult for the UN to grant an only Igbo country but even if we are to go together, I will always support a country where every region is autonomous to an extent.
It's only In Africa that you don't find one country with one or just a handful of ethnic groups, Rwanda that just has two see how they're prospering although after years of bloodbath. They know Africans are really divided along ethnic lines and hence always mix ethnic groups together, if a single ethnic group has its own country eg oodudwa for Yoruba and Biafra for igbos honestly this two countries will give the world powers a run for their money, but instead they'll add minorities to this countries thereby causing another mini Nigeria and we'll be busy fighting ourselves instead of thinking of how to catch up with them.

Like that guy earlier said it's better for people in the Niger delta to be ruled under an illiterate fulani than a literate Igbo man.

So as long as it's fulani people that is subduing them, they have no problem. That's I don't feel an ounce of pity for them when they cry about their waters and fishes been poisoned.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

PoliticsRe: Niger Delta Republic Is A Pipe Dream by Blackking98(m): 3:03pm On Jun 05, 2020
Chimaraymond455:
I keep saying it, Niger Delta republic is a good idea, and i support 100% but mind you Edo is never part of Niger Delta..., Niger Delta is an ijaw ideology lead by Isaac boro, again if I may ask how many tribes make up Niger Delta republichuh if an ijaw man can say he will be dominated by the igbos if he join Biafra or oduduwa, or arewa, why then he chooses to include other minority tribes to his Niger Delta republichuh Like i said earlier i support your ideology to achieve Niger Delta republic but please re-draw your map, you cannot include anag people, Ibibio people, etche people, anioma people, obigbo people, ekpeye people, etc without their concept, or are you now their mouthpiecehuh it's an consult to include all this tribes without consulting them,...or do you want to force themhuh or are you not aware that Niger Delta in an ijaw ideology an agendahuh
then Biafra is an Igbo agenda, case closed. This is an open forum, when oodudwa and biafra topics are raised, you see ethnic groups who don't want to be included speak out and it usually ends in tribal bashing. How ever when a niger Delta topic is created here , you see not only ijaws keying in but ibibios, urhobos, ogonis, ogoja, etc also keying in and accepting the Niger Delta republic idea. Most of u say Niger Delta is too divided with more than 30 different groups to be in a country but you're currently in a Nigeria of above 200 ethnic groups forced together and you're complaining about a country of 30 major ethnic groups willingly coming together, you need mental evaluation.

here you're wrong. Urhobos have militants, ogoni too, Efik too, ibibio too so ijaws don't have the Monopoly of violence so relax we'll sort ourselves out

I'm from the Niger Delta and this comment is unnecessary and false, the Igbo man is not our enemy, one of the best things that will happen to this country especially the Niger Delta is if an Igbo man becomes president. The igbos can have their biafra and we have our Niger Delta republic and peace would reign. With this comment I doubt you're from the Niger Delta.

AniOmaa:
They asked you to provide a CREDIBLE academic source and you're giving us Wikipedia that even my 12 year old brother can easily edit?

Secondly, even if the list of those countries that supported Biafra is true which I doubt cause only 4 countries recognized Biafra (Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Zambia and Haiti), then those countries just gave Biafra *de facto* and unofficial diplomatic support/sympathies and nothing more. Biafra especially at the early stage of the conflict, only managed few mercenaries who were contracted for just few months... since Ojukwu lacked the funds to keep paying them, many of the mercenaries simply packed up and left. The only major foreign mercenaries that fought honorably with Biafra were Major Taffy Williams, Rolf Steiner and some Swedish pilot that helped us fly our minion transport relief carrier planes that were customized and fitted for war purposes.

France gave Biafra only MINIMAL military support, that's what younger generations of Nigerians due to lack of substantial history been taught in our school curriculums fail to understand. The little support Biafra from France came rather belatedly, sometime around late 1968...the recapture of Owerri from Federal hands among other towns that were recaptured came around around that time when we some supplies from France... Yet throughout the war, Biafra never amassed 1/10th of the armada of limitless war machines and supplies the Nigerian side had.
because the source doesn't back your narrative you're already running it down. Mtchewww I stopped reading when you mentioned your brother so save yourself the energy. Adios

Thats if ipob candidate is not popular enough ....u can only rig where u are a bit popular ...u can't get 20% and be decleared winner when the other scored 70%

Ipob have dedicated members ,vote ,follow it yo the ward level ,follow it to the state level , that's how it should be down

Unless ipob is scared they are not popular
There is absolutely no other way

Nigeria and other nations would never take Biafra serious when the legitimate leaders are not saying anything

If ipob is not serious another organization would come up and form the party

People like me would fund them very well

Ipob as it is now is nothing but a joke
you can rig where you are not popular with the right tactic. Ask yahaya Bello and igala people to tell u what happened in their election.

Still the same excuse. If the favored person is Igbo, it’s because he/she is the most qualified for the position in the world. No other person is qualified so the president has no choice. If it is someone from another tribe, it is nepotism.

See, it’s really becoming embarrassing and you guys really need to stop this. Appreciate the wonderful gesture of the president and stop being an ingrate.
seconded. Some igbos on nairaland exhibit this trait called superiority complex and it's really disgusting. Buhari could have supported the northerner and heaven wouldn't fall, he's the current no 2 of the organization so he has some leverage. Notice how I said "some nairaland igbos", I added NL cus the igbos I know in real life are very different from the ones on NL, before some market women will start quoting me that I hate igbos. Anyway I wish her success, I tap into her blessing for my wife and daughters to be, this woman is always working in one prestigious place or the other, true true who God bless no man can curse.
