Travel / Re: Before Applying Or Coming To The Uk For Studies: Beware Of This by BlackMerchant(m): 8:28am On Aug 27, 2016 |
The op is generally right when it comes to finding work in the UK after masters, but it is also right that a UK masters will open doors for you elsewhere. A UK PhD is even more prestigious, as you can work in any part of the world easily, including international organizations. |

Career / Re: Is There Any Hope For Microbiologist In Nigeria by BlackMerchant(m): 8:08am On Jul 04, 2016 |
I have a younger sister who is studying to become a microbiologist. Yesterday, I interviewed her on her career path. She told me she wanted to work in a research institute as a researcher. She mentioned WHO and their affiliate institutes in Nigeria. Importantly, she has this desire to pioneer cure for some intractable diseases. Needless to say, I was impressed. She told me that some of the chaps who discovered vaccines for some diseases were microbiologists. So, op, there is hope, once you decide on what to do with your degree. Make this decision early enough. Then work for it. And trust God. Best wishes. 3 Likes 1 Share |

AtlanticBreeze: You are the one deceiving yourself. Babangida never floated the Naira as PMB is doing now. Rather, Babangida devalued the Naira as part of the Structural Adjustment Programme(SAP), as part of the conditions given by IMF for its loan to Nigeria at that time. The floating of the Naira today is a very novel idea by Emefiele. Please stop misinforming people. 25 Likes 2 Shares |

Politics / Re: A Bill Seeking To Upgrade Sharia Law Across Nigeria Passed Second Reading by BlackMerchant(m): 10:13pm On May 26, 2016 |
Illiterates full Nairaland these days. Please read the purported bill again. It says that it intends to expand the jurisdiction of the court BY INCLUDING CRIMINAL MATTERS OF HUDUD and QISAS... It does not say it intends to elevate sharia law to federal law. The supposed bill only intends to increase the jusridiction of the sharia court so that it can entertain those matters on hudus or whatever. Ignorant people should stop spreading rumour here. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVPuzaJ5dbk This is the video Evidence of how PDP rigged the rerun election in Degema Constituency of Rivers in the presence of the Deputy Governor of Rivers State. The woman that announced the result is not the returning officer, but the assistant to the Electoral Officer. Note the way Dr Farar Dagogo, the PDP candidate, ( the man in white chewing an apple), was telling her what to write. Chai! And this was how PDP purportedly won in the other constituencies that results were declared in Rivers. Why is PDP rigging when they claim they are on ground in Rivers? Mods, please move this front page. The world needs to know the truth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVPuzaJ5dbk 7 Likes 1 Share |

babadem2much: It may seem that way, however you should know that youths must be very active in the politics of their land. It matters little if they choose a side to pitch their tent, whether Amaechi or Wike. What matters is that the main gladiators shun violence and shun distortion of reality. That said, I admire Amaechi because of his courage and political sagacity. He has many imperfections, but his good side trumps over his bad side. 2 Likes |

Unions shutting down the NNPC is unecessary because the FG has promised that no staff will lose his job over the unbundling. What exactly does PENGASSAN even mean by not being carried along? Are they saying they were not invited for tea and biscuits? What is paramount is that no staff has lost his job. Let the unions get back to work please. 5 Likes 2 Shares |
