lagerwhenindoubt: How we love to wish the unjustly departed sorry and goodbye. we never ask what must be done, I doubt any policeman in Nigeria today who has committed murder of an innocent citizen has ever been brought to book and killed or locked up for life for his crime.
We all like to say sorry, May his soul rest in piece, one day it will be you and i doubt you will want people to just wish you sorry and rest in piece Please suggest an alternative against armed mercenieries for hire. |

chidichris: that is a good one. most of them whenever they are in power seem to forget abt security because they have too much guards arround them. now that he is a common man and is vulnerable to robbers, ordinary seizure of phones, he died. na waa, so what does he think of the common man whose daily experiences revolve arround these things. in that case, robbers shld concentrate on these politicians. Malaria does not know whether you are rich or poor - but one thing a rich man must do is to help eradicate mosquito with his resources or power same goes with Armed robbery |

princekevo: Is really mind blowing my brother, didn't even have enough Patience to read down there. The situation in Nigeria is so pathetic, as we have no single record for anything in that country. Sometimes i wonder if our leaders are from this planet earth or another. In a place where there are no proper records i doubt if there can be a proper accountability. See Angola what they can achieve in short period of time with their oil that is not even up to what is deposited in Nigeria. Shocking i say. but i refuse to say Nigeria is a hopeless nation . The level of corruption is just too unbearable. |

What is the point of having arable land and not using it. If others are going to use it to its fullest capacity why not let them have it and in return we get back something. Remember you were not getting anything from the land in the first place. |

I strongly believe that the majority of the population can afford to pay more electricity - Average house spends about N1500 per day on fuel for generators which is roughly about 45 to 50k per month. almost 15 times more than cost of PHCN electricity and an IPP will surely break even at 20k per month on every household |

SEFAGO: Some people are above the law, just a certain class of people. Like everywhere in the world it is who you know that matters. Its not an affair of migrant or not. If he was friends with the head of scotland yard or whoever handles police business I am sure his records would have been expunged. I have seen cases inan advanced country where someone got into real trouble (not rubbish like running traffic lights) and his file never reached the court because his father was high up in the police dept. Definitely not in the U.k as i write we have a number of ministers that have pending cases with the court with very likely prison sentences and i dont know where you got your story from - Please point out someone in Europe who has escaped the clutches of law |
Sports › Re: Britain Deports Its Five Gold Medal Nigerian Hero by blacksta(m): 12:10am On Mar 24, 2010 |
davidylan: unfortunately . . . Europeans respect their laws no matter how many gold medals you win. The posters above live in society where a constant compromise occurs daily and cannot envision a society where nobody is above the law - so what if he wins a gold medal for britain - would it have been al right to the deported if the guy were a serial killer. |

SapeleGuy: I am sure you are joking. Being in diaspora is no guarantee of competence. Please don't start another diaspora versus home based debate. But the fact remains those home based champions have failed woefully and doing the same thing hoping to get another result or outcome is called insanity. |
Sports › Re: Britain Deports Its Five Gold Medal Nigerian Hero by blacksta(m): 11:10pm On Mar 23, 2010 |
davidylan: the law is the law. However, in 2007, Mr Onwubiko was sentenced to five months in prison for driving while disqualified after twice being convicted of careless driving in his specially adapted car. One time he apparently ran through a red light. Due to UK laws, an emigrant who commits a serious criminal offense is subject to automatic deportation. what a shame sha |
