Talk is cheap and Nigerians are the most easily deceived  people on earth. At the entry of every new president big speeches are made but in the end nothing comes out of it.  Mr GJ inaugurated ministers roughly 3 months ago and promised immediate blueprints for each ministries till today as usual nothing.  Please learn to manage your expectations - it is business as usual for Mr GJ and his cronies  - at the end of 11 months we will back to square one.

krendo:
This is simply mafiosi politics at work.

If you dissent on Jonathan's views then all the crimes you committed even in high school will be uprooted. If you agree then you are not corrupt. Since Timipre Sylva declared his loyalty to Jonathan, no one is arresting his finance commissioners anymore on corruption charges.

Now Ogbulafor has resigned, very soon the next obstacle to Jonathan's ambition to be President will be the most corrupt man in the country.

We will see where this will get to. Dissent is part of democracy, people who disagree with the President should not be blackmailed with corruption when the President's own wife is implicated in a case of money laundary.
Spot on bro - It seems Jonathan is more deadly than initially thought - Get rid of ogbulafor somehow diminshes the zoning formula - all this preparing the stage for GJ to run for presidency come 2011.

I bet you that those Nigerian football commentators would now come to UK/US and wonder why they can not get similar roles in a place like BBC or Sky sports despite their 20 years experience.

And when they call home they would say the reason for their lack of success is racism.

20 years of commenting and they quality of your commentating is soul-draining.

Go to Nigerian Embassy and see the working practices and disorganisation.

Go for a Nigerian Concert in London, they will charge you more than you will be charged to see Michael Jackson to see some local act, upon all some of the acts advertised will not show up, and the ones that do, lack of organisation might even ruin the performance be it lighting or sound check or even the act giving a lacklustre performance not realising he is suppose to have rehearsed an act to blow your mind out for the money charged. You pay £40 and you get a £5 performance.  undecided

You also look at the production team of BEN TV. Shocker!

THE ONLY CHANNEL ON CABLE you would switch to that what is on their listing of programmes to be shown is 50% of the time a completely mismatch with what is being shown.

A NIGERIAN channel that will show a one-hour Ethopian programme where people are speaking Amharic THROUGHOUT and they will not see the sense in providing a translation subtitle.

The only channel you would be watching and your TV sound/picture quality would be flunctating as they switch between programmes or to advertisement.

AFTER FFFING 7 OR SO YEARS OF BROADCASTING?

They need to line up the leadership team and then shoot them all one by one.  angry

Bloody "E don do, we don try" mentality. And they wonder why people will go to India to hire, when only very few have the right mentality?
Sagamite:
Upskill yourself, work hard and add value to the point of being indispensible and you would not have to worry about being displaced.

I am not talking about packing certificates o! I am talking about approach to work and working habits.

Not the typical Nigerian culture of put little in and expect to rip millions on the short term.

Not the typical Nigerian culture of not providing the best possible but instead leaving it at "we don try" quality.

You take a look at our journalists, most need replacing. Are they indispensible? I say Hell No.

Take a look at our "No 6 jersey shouting" crap football commentators instead of researching players' names. Are those kind of people adding value? I say Hell No.

The typical Nigerian mentality towards work is not appealing to a reasonable and progressive employer.
Ol boy you are absolutely spot on -  I have just come back from Nigeria and was staying with a Nigerian friend in a block of flats full of whites , Asians and Arabs all working for Starcomms - on meeting some of the expatriates i came to the conclusion that these people are not better than local talents and had a discussion  with a number of people including my friend on why starcomms is paying a fortune approximately  N5.5 Mill per year for a flat to house each expat worker and does not include the high salary when they could employ local talent and pay much less and we came to the conclusion that the typical Nigerian work ethic is very poor, lacks commitment and lack presentation skills and most companies would rather pay far more to get the job done.

One of the worst channels on sky is ben television considering the channel is surrounded by best practices from other European channels - It is not about packing certificates but more to do with the simple things and it is called " Common sense"
BusinessRe: Cost Of Living In Lagos, Nigeria by blacksta(m): 6:30pm On May 08, 2010
Interesting comments from all  - Mr Sid i dont have problem with you but have problem with the employments laws of Nigeria -  Will a Nigerian get the same package?.  I strongly believe the world is now a global village and boundaries have been removed but the fact still remains quota limit has to be set and  maintained.

and also $24k is really low - u can earn far much more than that.

Sypthoms of a sick nation. When other countries are encouraging their own citizens first before others, ours tend to be otherwise. @Sid, I've got nothing against you. Good luck in your endeavours. I just hate Nigerian leaders for lack of foresight and futuristic visions.
Bros , I feel your pain Unfortunately could it be that our system is not producing enough qualified personnel or Nigerian employers are suffering from inferior complex. $24k is really low considering the guy was earning a pittance $14k . I believe the position is definitely a junior position which they would have could found a local talent. Imagine what impact that amount and benefits would have in the live of a Nigeria but anyway such is life

PoliticsRe: Impeachment - Bankole Begs Jonathan, Mark by blacksta(m): 7:39am On Apr 21, 2010
I was joking with a canadian lawyer that I can become the president of Nigeria. He assume that I was joking because he does not understand nigeria politics. My probabilty as a Yorubaman with my political activities can win me the 2011 election. My probability is higher than Jonathan the president of Nigeria or david mark. I can even influence impeachment of the president of Nigeria or the senate president. The canadian government does not know that.

President IBB media step son was my classmate in school. President Buhari is my friend father friend. His friend Idiagbon children were my schoolmate. President Ernest Sonekan my classmate uncle. Emir of zaria is my roommate uncle. The governor of kaduna is my friend brother. The governor of Adamawa state brother use to be my landlord. The governor of kwara state brother and sister were my school mate,. Two of his commissioner are my schoolmate. The governor of Ondo state is my family friend. My father have know him since he was a baby. Akala cousin is my friend in canada. Gbenga daniel ogun state governor is a family friend. delta state governor knows Ogbebor my schoolmate. Obasanjo son in law my friend. I can list several governors and senators I have link too. With labour movement in Nigeria, The world famous human right activist Gani fawehinmi my grand aunty step son. With militia in the niger delta, I did my best to make sure thier leader did not die in jail. femi Falana nephew my schoolmate. Tunde. Thinking aloud, Tunde where is Ruku. Ruku. Ruku. Ruku. You dont want to be in a fight with Ruku. He was 7 feet tall.

cris-ngige:
Quote from viper head-As for Jonathan not performing while he was deputy governor, governor etc, there are times you have great ideas, and you have to keep them till you get to the point where you have enough power to execute them. That is where he is now, let's give him these few months to see if that' HIS case. Viperhead,be you johnattan himself?
But he was on point when he was governor and nothing came out of it. Nigerians should learn to manage their expectations - Jonathan is a product of the rotten system which plagues Nigeria . If we have credible elections in Nigeria . , Jonathan would never have been elected , fact.
