@nuzo it is not your fault / would u prefer that we begin a violence revolution or maybe it is the fact that you so far in some far east country and it causing your brain to freeze |
fraud in nigeria = fraud in Zimb. Whatever your level it is still equal to fraud . so stop trying to say the level of Yar adua 's fraud is far more better than mugabe own. One of the reason why africa remain where it is, people are always rationalizing stuff instead of dealing with it head on |
The Corruption issues cause a massive discouragement when coming to do anything postive in Nigeria. I was in Nigeria for month in april 2008 and right from arrival to the country i had to start settling people and officals and must confess it was very frustating. I try and live a righteous life ( God help me ) which works fine abroad but the moment i hit Nija it is like all the demons of hells hits you and one has no option but to sucomb. The Questions is " are their any honest people in that country". The fun thing is that you have some churches every where but does not reflect the goodliness at all BUNCH OF HYPCRITIES. The leaders are corrupt, people self corrupt and they all blame it on poverty. |
Only God knows |
All these many trips . The man is definately looking for creditbility LOL |
I was is Lagos this April quite frankly saw a lot of thingable improvements but was upset as i believe the efforts by his governement is some how misplaced . I would rather concentrate on more important isuses such as housing, good roads, education and effective drainage system rather than spend billions on some beautification projects that only amounts to about 10% of the whole of Lagos |
Dear NairaLand From the reading everybody's post . I can simply come to conclusion that we are equally as guilty that is if the man of God is actually buying a jet. The Question is, almost everyone at one or the other spent money on very expensive stuff, the question could have been , why did you not give to money to poor or used the money for the furtherance of the gospel of Christ. Whether you buy JEt, BMw, mercedes, jewels or that expensive shoe. The amount is not relevant. That amount whether some or large could have made a big difference in somebodies life |
Sad state of Affairs What i dont understand? - How are the cartels stoping this useless government from implementing or solving the power generation in Nigeria. Simply Solution - Solve this power generation and the need for generator simply goes away. I believe we have two seperate entities here |
welcome welcome to Nigeria land of more crooks than honest people. I now wish i was politican? |

Please blame it on the occult people |
make them no kill our Governor O!!!!!!!!!!!! |
BUT for providence, the Ogun State governor, Chief Gbenga Daniel, would have been a dead man now as he was allegedly poisoned and had to be rushed abroad for medical attention. advertisement In fact, the governor, is said to be currently acting slowly to state duties. These were revealed at a press conference jointly addressed by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Dr. Yomi Majekodunmi; the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Wale Adedayo; the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Olugbemi Onakoya; Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Samuel, and other top government functionaries. Dr. Majekodunmi said, “on my honour, I can tell you categorically and unequivocally that the governor was poisoned a few weeks ago. He had to be rushed out of this country for treatment. “We thank God that he is okay. He has initial treatment abroad, came back and quietly went back for a few days for further treatment. That is why he is taking things slowly. “The Speaker, Egbetokun, said they would never impeach Governor Daniel, but that there are worse things than impeachment. They want a declaration of a state of emergency.” The government also on Sunday described as a set-up, the allegation of attempt on the life of the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Honourable Tunji Egbetokun, by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Dr. Abayomi Majekodunmi. The government also described the whole event as a drama, accusing the lawmakers of blackmailing the government over its refusal to pay each of them N20 million. Dr. Majekodunmi stated that the lawmakers were expected at a luncheon at the Government House based on their request to pay a courtesy call on the governor after their return from a two-week legislative capacity tour abroad. He accused some external forces of being behind the problems in the state in the last one and a half months. He said that their sponsors were out to destabilise the state. “There are a lot of external forces in this matter. The time is up. Everything is in the open and let us move forward. We cannot continue to be docile and leave some people to destroy our future. All agents of darkness will be consumed concerning this state,” he said. He explained that the Speaker gave him a call that they (lawmakers) would not be able to attend the luncheon again as some members were said to be away for one function or the other. He said worried by this development, he called the Speaker again so that he could speak with him one on one, to discuss issues relating to the state and other private matters. “I have firearms and I’m not hiding that. I have firearms in my possession since 2004 and its licence will expire by 31st December, 2008. I renewed the firearms consistently. I use it for gaming and in some cases, self defence. “The whole incident was just like a drama. The Speaker, Tunji, who is my aburo, called me and asked for a courtesy visit on the governor since their return from the United States. I elaborately planned for a luncheon which was to come up on that fateful Saturday, but I later received a telephone call from the Speaker that they would not be able to meet up with the planned programme. “I left the Government House on the express permission of my boss whom I told I was going to Osun State to celebrate with my sister, Princess Omolola Oyinlola (nee Majekodunmi), who was marking her 30th wedding anniversary. Considering the time, I went back home to collect my firearms because it was getting too late and these arms were put in my car boot. “Apparently worried by this development, I called him back and asked where I can meet him so that we can talk on how to move the state forward and some other issues relating to the state. I offered to meet him wherever he was and he told me that I should meet him at the Legislators Quarters. “I waited for the Speaker in front of his house for over 30 minutes and he came in with a retinue of aides, apologised and took me into his bedroom.” Dr. Majekodunmi also stated that while the discussion lasted in the bedroom of the Speaker, various calls were received as he (Speaker), “who excused himself to receive calls and at a point in time, came in to inform me that some people who were suspected to be agents of darkness were seen within the quarters. I told him that my aides were not within the premises and that only my driver (Folorunso) and my security aide (Wale) were in my car. “We were there talking and he would take calls and sometimes he would go out and at a time he came in and he was agitated and there was a cacophony of noise and he went out again and when I came out, I was confronted with the brutalisation. It was like a drama. “I went in utmost good faith. A man who invited me to his bedroom showed that I meant no harm. If I was after anybody’s life, will I go there in broad daylight, park my car in the front of the house and enter his bedroom? That is preposterous. “Some of the legislators had gone to obtain loans of about N15 million and they cannot pay and are now demanding for each one of them to be paid N20 million each. This is no oil rich state. “We are aware of the infiltration of the governor’s security by their sponsors in Abuja doling out Trojan horses and huge amount in dollars. The money was traced to some elements in Abuja. Why would you give huge amount in dollars to a driver to compromise his integrity? “We are daring them to impeach Governor Daniel and they will see. The legislators are paranoid. They want to destabilise and go to Lagos and Abuja for protection. There are a lot of external influence who want to destabilise the state and PDP. If we respect them, that does not mean we cannot look them in the face.” Meanwhile, Egbetokun has denied the statement of the government. The Speaker, in a telephone interview with the Nigerian Tribune, said that the meeting at his quarters was called at the instance of Dr. Majekodunmi and not him. He said that the arrested people were in the company of the Chief of Staff and that the people suspected to be hired assassins came into the legislative quarters in batches. Honourable Egbetokun also denied allegation of demanding N20 million from the governor. ”We did not demand for money from the state governor and since we came back from our trip from the United States, we have not met the governor. The attack happened at the quarters because we did not attend the meeting. The attack will have occurred outside the legislative quarters if we had attended the meeting. This blackmail cannot be substantiated.” http://odili.net/news/source/2008/jul/7/610.html |
The Sly:dont be decieved my brother - we aint going no where, another government will come and probe everything yar adua did |
We are definately a failed state |
What a ridiclous topic it is only in nigeria that a theif has mouth as earlier said nobody is bringing anybody down u steal or mismanage you should get probed or locked whatever tribe you are. The only people fearfull are theives who are looking to divert attention from their insecurity |
U guys are a bunch of dreamers if level of corruption in nigeria was not high maybe the power rationing will work. Please don't hype up your expectations only to be dissapointed. What we need in nigeria are leaders with a vision not rationing a broken system |
Sorry mate, cant help u |
I thank my God that i am out of this country Maybe God has forsaken Country - massive corruption on a whole even its citizens are guilty. Please tell how a country can can change when the citizens are equally as corrupt as their leaders. One vicous circle of going nowhere. Facts 1. One plant ( called the Logannet power station) out of many in the UK generates at full capacity 2400 mw of electricity more than the combined generation of Nigeria. 2. 15% of electricity of the UK comes from a renewable source ( wind, solar) sooner or later they would not need your oil and gas anymore - I can guarantee you that by the year 2020 we will still be darkness all long as you keep recycling those so called self centered, clueless leaders. A country where so called legislators are also contractors think about it. I have never seen a country where people are so comfortable with abnormalities - come on people!!!!!!!! year 2008 we can't even generate electricity when other nations are moving forward. very primitive |
This na one of saddam's palaces - |
landis: landis:No doubt . please bear in mind where have two diferent scenarios here the aussie was a drug user and she was caught with smaller quantity for personal use while the nigeria men were drug peddlers another name Barons - selling drugs to enrich themeselves |
Any government will choose to give clemency depending on the severity of the offence but on this case it is the death penalty. You do the crime means you are going serve the term when caught |
Please how much is their pocket money |
ha haha ha ahah aa a hh aah ahha haa ahhaa haaahaahahahahhhaaah |
These boys want to bring nigeria to a halt - na wa o - how person go buy petrol for europe now - petrol is already £1.16 per litre . God help us |
oga put price ooooooooooooo thanks |
They are all crazy I thought it was people that voted for the canidiate they want and not some useless fore father that impose candidates on the people who cares where you come from whether remo or iwori this is one the reason we stuck in this rot. Candiaties must be chosen on merit Any way sha we are in nigeria anything goes |
I think the best option for you and family would be to consider what we call a bed and breakfast apartment relatively cheaper than a hotel. A bed and breakfast for four people in london maybe away from the city will cost between £80 - £120 pep day for four which includes english breakfast. Getting a short term accomodation will be premium possible looking at about £650 - 700 per week excluding food and utilites. I am sure if you search deep you will have friends and family you can stay with . |
prince_onx:LMAO - very pessimistic opinion - what about the heat the person and the family go just to roasted corn . |
i dey predict that yar adua will no t die but he will live to declare the glory of God |
