Okija_juju:
Look at us going back and forth with this our arguement trying to blame someone.

Now let us ask ourselves the relevant questions based on the picture.

Was the lady driver guilty of any offence??

ANSWER; Hells yes. Offences ranging from resisting arrest, to reckless endangerment, to assault with a deadly weapon, to aggravated assault, to attemted murder.

Was the policewoman right in her approach to the fleeing driver??

ANSWER; NO. I am certain that no police handbook anywhere in the world would suggest that yo throw yourself in front of a vehicle to stop it. Whatever happen to citations, tickets, taking down the license plate number, putting out an A.P.B on the vehicle, spike-strips, radioing the unit ahead to intercept the vehicle, even giving chase sef.

PERSONAL OPINION; I believe that the officers on duty would have been much richer f they had succeeded in apprehending tha woman at the scene. They would probably have extorted her of all her money before setting her free. We do see this everyday. Even trailers are no exception. Are Nigerians Lawless?? Hells yes we are. We do break every rule there is whenever we can, especially if we knew we could get away with it. But thats no excuse for the unprofessional behavior of our law enforcement agents. Its not strange in Nigeria to see the police beating the shit out of a suspect who they have placed under arrest (in cuffs). Every party had its fault in the whole scenario, but the police officers could have handled the situation much better that they did. And the woman driver was lucky that the police officers in the picture had no guns.
All this big big drama. This one no be  CSI or 24 .  Please come back to reality this in Nigeria where nothing works except some private sectors.

Ermmm, okay the police bad abi? Did anyone reason that the lady might have something incriminating in her possession, thus her rather suspicious actions? Now we see the decay in the system, were this to be a sane system, where stuff works, such an action would be relayed to some sort of patrol team to apprehend her and subject her to some sort of search. Probably on the other hand, the lady might just be frustrated from some official antagonisms by the officers, but that don't mean she gotta do take the action that she did. Thats an assault on an officer of the law, mentality and society, she knows she can get away with it thats why she done it. Both ways, it's a sorry capture of the Nigerian state and the decaying rot that it has become in the hands of inept and inneficient political and ruling elite. . .  sad
Give me a break - Are u serious. something incriminating like drugs or money. It is very obvious that the police here where only interested in harassing the lady which i guess she did not have time for.

Hi,
I came to Lagos some few days ago to look for a babalawo that is gonna help me appear in Oslo, Norway. I have been in Lagos for 9 days and i am soon to run out of money. Actually i stay with a friend, food isn't a problem here cuz he provides everything. One of my friend is in new york, he didn't use a visa or air flight ticket to travel, a babalawo helped him to appear in the street of new york, from there he found a job and today he is happily married but he no longer lives in new york but now toronto, canada. I want to travel through this means but unfortunately for me the babalawo that helped to do this is no more, so i was directed to a babalawo that stays in Ikoyi but i have been searching for this babalawo for long and i am unable to come across him. I am tired and i wont search anymore. Meanwhile, i haven't lost hope, i believe a nairaland member can help me locate a babalawo in lagos that can do this for me. You can provide me with his address and phone no. Thanks.
Why are you wasting your time .- why dont you head to libya and cross via the seas.

No Comment at this time.  But like me quickly add.  I have spent about 12 years abroad and have come to appericate life far more better than my 17 years in Nigeria.

A few pointers

I finished college, university without having to bribe any lecturer, or go through a strike.

Got a good job not based on where i can come from or who i know but all down to merit

I have access to good healthcare, effective security and many more

policies or programs that encourage self development.

Some people will argue " People are making millions in Nigeria" .  The fact of the matter your money cant buy shit in Nigeria.

In short i am so grateful to God. as i able extend my blessing to a number of people back home.

I would like to see a better Nigeria hopefully in my lifetime.
PoliticsRe: What Will You Say Is Nigeria's Problem by blacksta(m): 9:41pm On Feb 03, 2009
Big B1:
@topic:
1. Weak consistution
2. Existence of incompetent leaders
3. Lack of self-respect among Nigerians in general
4. Worshipping of fake heroes
5. Lack of common sense among well educated Nigerians
6. Existence of 98% coward among the entire Nigerian citizens.

Running away from your country doesn't solve your problems.
Typing garbage on nairaland 10 hours a day doesn't solve any of your problems.
Castigating your country daily (24/7) doesn't solve any problem.
And absolutely throwing little rocks far away from home doesn't solve any problem or have any effect.

A good sample of reasons why Nigeria is on her knees today resides here on this forum.
We talk, talk and talk every single day with absolutely nothing tangible to contribute at the end of the day.

It has been confirmed that Nigerians away from home can now participate in presidential elections, and many of us are greatly pleased to receive this news.
How stupid could you be? The votes of Nigerians that live in Nigeria haven't counted for over 25 years; how the hell do you think your votes as "Nigerians in Diaspora" would count?

It just turns us on to be taken for a ride, all the time!
Omo na true you talk. My hand dey ache me - all this typing is not changing nothing. I am waiting for a revolution so i can join

Oga seun

please tell us how yar adua is better than GW Bush.  At least when GB was at the helm. America took 100 steps foward and 10 backwards. In Nigeria it  is 100 steps backward and half step forward.

I really laugh.  The expression of your thought life upsets me and i suspect that many in Nigeria think like this. Typical "yes men".  We are definitely not ready for change.  Please carry on washing your cars and when you make your millions please come abroad and spend it on medical bills, new cars or house in short come and stimulate the white man's economy

the country is not working- the country is not working - stay there and moan, while others make money and are happy in the same country, even common artisans make so much money in the same country you think has no hope - on saturday, I took my car for a wash in a roadside car was in abuja, and four young boys, with water from the road side tap, ekes out their living washing cars, i bet you will say it is a demeaning job - I purposely stayed with these guys for 5 hours, and these guys earns 500 naira washing one car - in five hours I was there, they washed over 15 cars - multiply that by 500 naira and assume they wash double or tripple that in a day, which i am sure they will wash more, and you can assume how much money they make on a daily basis. yet, everyone is suffering in your own yeye eye -

Same thin in London, a lot of folks eke out their living washing cars and making money, so, before you tell me that car washing is a bad thing to do, i can refer you to London and show you how many of our Nigerian graduates do the same thing in Londodn, washing cars - and you will just wise up.
You have totally lost me. What is your point? The fact of the matter people will always make money at others disadvantage ( For example generator sellers). The money you make in a failed country like Nigeria cannot buy good health, good roads, good government. At least the guys washing cars in london can go home to constant electricity, available healthcare, Good road and many more things that would better their standard of living. The guys washing cars in london have far more options than one in Nigeria and easily decide i dont want to wash cars anymore.

Going back to the headline point.

Dear friend it is 2009 and we are still trapped in 70's. The whole world has left us behind. Oyinbo man is thinking of alternative source of generating electricity we are still struggling with the primitive one. My only conculsion is that Our so called leaders are not interested in the wellbeing of the people. The structures you see in dubai was built in the last 20 years so it is damn possible

Very Interesting. I am suspecting that you should be the best person to answer this question but below are few pointers

Multiply your cost by 10, 100, 1000 bearing in mind their might be some post implementation support
what is the value of the project.
What would a typical software development agency charge
The no of manpower required to implement the project

Hope this helps

This is someone who has benefitted from houston so why should this make so much noise. He's doing what any sane person would do.
Why should he donate to a University in Nigeria so that the Vice Chancellor can buy him/herself two new 14 million naira Range Rover SUV's (omo na wetin dey n vogue for naija now be dat oo).
