holyboss1: I thought that changing one would have negative effect since the friction won't be at equilibrium. So it does not matter if the other three are older by 1.5yrs? You can replace just the bad one and everything will be fine. |

Car Talk › What Is The Life Span Of A Car Battery. by blackwood(op): 10:06am On May 10, 2020 |
Good day all, I have been using my present battery since March 2017 and it has suddenly started misbehaving. I started the car this morning and it came on, though the cluster lights dimed before it started, I drove about 10km and stopped to buy fuel, after buy the battery could not start the car anymore, I had to jump start it to get it running. The Mechanic at the fuel station said the battery is gone but I want to be sure if it's the battery or the alternator is not charging it properly. He (the mechanic) said if it's the alternator the car would go off again after the jump start and insisted it was my battery that's not holding charge because it's gone. He even went further to uplug the postive terminal of the battery while the car was still running and it remained on. He said if it was the alternator the car would go off of he uplug the battery. Please experts in the house how long does a battery last and how can I confirm the alternator is charging the battery. |

Ginaz: Those long worm that are kinda red in color na. And sucking blood worm. I don’t know their names but that’s what I do call them . Those are not tapeworms, tapeworms don't suck blood, they stay in the intestine of the host and feed off digested food. Tapeworms are found in intestines of their host and are parasitic. |
Health › Re: How Did You Overcome Your Tooth Problem? by blackwood(m): 2:09pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
Ginaz: When I was little, I think that would be I was in primary 5 and I came home from school feeling severe pain in a particular tooth. I pinched the gum surrounding the tooth with a sharp fingernail till it bled and I applied salt to it. The pain I felt afterwards was so extreme I felt I would faint, I couldn’t move my body.
The pain died down after my body got used to the extreme pain caused by the salt on a raw wound. I Somehow slept off because of the pains only to wake up feeling something moving inside my mouth. I opened it , and took whatever it was wiggling inside my mouth and behold!! It was a worm.
3 came out of my mouth . I had to call my grandmother to see worms coming out of my mouth. We removed them and since I haven’t had toothache till now .
Nobody told me to put salt in my tooth, I was a very curious child. I have seen salt kill tapeworms and felt if I should apply it to my tooth it would kill the worms. Never in my wild and curious imagination would I have thought live worms would come out of my mouth. Where did you see salt kill tapeworm? Have you seen tapeworm before? |

Car Talk › Re: Car Soaking Water At Passenger Side by blackwood(m): 2:16pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
bigmodo: I just bought a Belgium corolla 2003 model from usa. Everything in the car seems fine. But there is one issue. I noticed that water soak at the back side of the passenger floor right side. I have tried tracing to know where the water is coming from but I couldn't. I even had to tear the floor rug but I couldn't find where the water is coming from. I complained to my panel beater but he couldn't find a solution.
Mod if you can, please push to front page for me. I use a corolla too and had this problem only when it rained heavily, while looking for the solution someone asked me a simple question, He asked if my rear light was broken? I said yes, he asked me to replace the broken rear light, I did and the wet floor stopped. I cannot explain it but it stopped getting wet. |

Car Talk › Re: Toyota Matrix Starting Problems by blackwood(m): 4:41pm On Apr 24, 2019 |
autologic: I respectfully disagree ,scanner is just like other tools to increase the efficiency of doing work .Too much emphasise on this scanner thing self ,it is the human brain that diagnose, analyse and fix and not tools . Scanner and other diagnoses tool are mere data retrieval for human analysis. Atimes your scanner is even useless at certain situations or cannot even access the system or is throwing codes not related to the problem or is not one complaint and so what do you do in those situations? You go back to the basics to fix the issue . If a techie is unable to fix a certain issue it is not due to lack of owning a good scanner or other tools but due to lack of basic understanding of the problem If the basic foundational knowledge of "known good data " is known then the rest is easy . Thank you for your response to my little contribution but I still think having a scanner makes diagnosis one step easier. Yes, car repairs can be done without a scanner but you have to be sure what the problem is, I once had mechanics and auto electricians misdiagnose an issue and I spent unnecessary time and money, I stumbled on an auto technician who had a scanner an the problem was fixed within 30mins. |

BishopSal: I will want experts in the house to help. For weeks now my toyota matrix 2005 has had starting issue. It will cramk but wont start. But sometimes it will start. The electricians have tried to find the problem but no solution. They've made me change the brain box but the problem is persisting... any expert advice pls will be very helpful. Thanks Since you have no scanner around you, it would be difficult to pin point the problem. I had a similar problem with starting my corolla and most auto electricians were asking me to change the brain box but I doubted them. I solved mine by changing the crankshaft position sensor and Coolant temperature sensor and I've had no problem ever since. Make sure you also have a good battery and your injectors are in good condition. |

nakoks: You shouldn't be scared rather you should be sad.Sad that you didn't know the grade of oil being used on your car,sad that you have a 2005 car and never read the manual, sad that you don't know what sludge is,and sad that you have ignorantly killed your engine, sad that your mechanic doesn't know any better and sad that you learned the hard way(loosing an engine in this times) Abeg no blame the guy, like him, our mechanics have advice us wrongly on grade of oil to use. I am learning the hard way with my own corolla because my engine is almost gone, I dey find money to change engine. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Nigerian Christians Avoid Naming Their Children Jesus? by blackwood(m): 9:20am On Aug 06, 2017 |
Because Jesus is not a christian name. When Jesus was born and named he was not a christian. Christianity started after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The apostles started Christianity, hence we take names after them. |
