Why didnt the couple decide all these things before bringing parents face to face with each other? I don't know how things are done in your family but you should have done all the back and forth before this meeting. The meeting should just be to finalize what has been agreed. Both sets of parents should just take the high road and forget about what happened. It's about the children for Pete's sake, not about them. |
Jade William: U can get good paediatricians esp in govt hospitals.my sister went 2missionary hosp,sh cudn't get rotavirus&they told her d penta contains HIB&rotavirus.i don't knw if its true though).I wish u'l giv dem d 6wks vaccination b4 u guys travel but incase u can't;God wil mak a way 4u ova there.U no go crase IJNWhoever told you that is saying a plain lie. They should just say that they do not administer it cos it's kinda pricey. Penta contains 5 vaccines but Rotavirus is not one of them. Rotavirus is very important but it's only up to a certain age (can't remember the age). After that, it becomes toxic to the body. |
tjskii: Is d zentel syrup or tabletZentel is tablet. Just crush the recommended dose in water and feed him. I dewormed my 2nd son at 6 months cos that is the norm in his hospital. For my first son, i did it at 1.5yrs cos i did not know better. Now, i do it every 3 months. |
Your link is not going through. |
My youngest brother did same when he was 3years old. He was lucky and my parents saw him on the way to pick us up. When they arrived at the school, they saw me and my brother in tears as we searched for our baby brother holding his school bag. That was a good 30mins walk. That day was really terrible. |
OLAADEGBU: Did you think the whole scene was made up?He was correcting the previous poster's spelling. |
Even if it is 10m, i will only pay 5% as agency. Most agents collect 5% for sale of properties. |
Ab025: @blank.......u must be a joker, u said the guy shud buy 2 suits now and the others wen he gets paid!!! Who told u d guy is workin, he is not workin but is being sponsored into his masters programme by his parent, if he buys 2 suits now and giv d remainin money to his gal, where will he get d money to buy the other suits....?First off, I did not direct my post to you. Seeing as you have taken it upon yourself to reply, I will still respond to you. I am not a joker. I gave my opinion. Give yours and move on. I am an MSc degree holder and I know "how difficult project presentation and defence is". I doubt you know what you are talking about. I do not see what "manage with anyhow dressing as you like" has to do with the topic and with project defence. I mentioned getting the suits after he was paid because the whole issue of him buying suits was for his new job. Try and keep up. No need to get too ahead of yourself. Understand that people have different opinions on issues. Give your opinion, I give mine, the op can make his decision. |
Initially, i didn't want to reply but i decided to do so. Don't take this too personal but you sound stingy. I personally believe that a lady should pay her own way. However, there is nothing wrong in you showing her empathy. You want her to empathize with you but you are not doing the same for her. I know you are not married or anything but i have seen guys that are in love and are commited to a relationship. If you had said that you will give her 2k out of the money you have but she got angry, i would have understood with you and seen your point of view. You need to stop over-analyzing her and just accept her statements at face value. I did not see anything wrong in what she said. I think you should do it step by step as well. Buy 2 suits now and then some later when you get paid. |
@ Wendy80. I don't think there is anything wrong with Nutrend. It is maize so people prefer to start with rice based cereal. Some babies like Nutrend some dont. My first baby could not stand Nutrend and would throw up immediately i gave him while my second son has Nutrend as one of his best cereals. It depends on the baby. You have to keep giving the baby different types till you find what your baby likes. |
God bless him and your family. |
Jade William: My dear,I won't com here&say wot sure of.Nobody sees d peadiatrician morethan I do.As a matter of fact,I pay 5k 4each visit. My baby's teethin coms wit rash&fever&sh said I shld use hydrocortisone cream 4d rash&piriton 4d itchin&ibuprofen 4d fever.Afta 3days,d rash usually goes away so i stop.If u read wot I posted;I told her,d way I mixed d cream,it last 4me(not dat evrythng at once)&my baby's rash usually disappears within 2-3days if u use it mornin&nyt.FYI;d hydrocortisone cream contains only 1% hydrocort so it can neva b dat harmful d way u'r makin it sound.I am well educated&i do my research as much I can&i knw dat prolonged use of steroid is not good likewise anyother drug too.Nobody held a gun 2anybody's head 2say u must do wot's posted on dis trend.D whole idea of dis trend is 2share ideas&opinions. If ur child is havin a life threatenin condition,u go&c a dr.This trend has helped a lot of ppl includin me.Kudoooooos 2al mothers contributin meaningfully 2dis trendAbeg, no vex. I just said you should have pointed out to her that she needs to be quite careful with it. No wahala. We are all just sharing experiences. |
Igbos do not have a ceremnony where they name their children. They just name them. The ceremony Igbos have concerning children is "I kuputa nwa". This cermony is usually done from when the baby is 3 months and above. No stipulation for it to be be a big party. Most times, Igbos just do thanksgiving in Church and that is it. |
Jade William: Sudocream doesn't work 4my baby too.I mix tribotan(#400);visitaplus(#200)&hydrocortisone cream (#300 or so) wit littl Ori (50naira).I mix it in a container&keep so weneva sh has d rash on her bum,I'l apply it&it disappears afta lik 2-3days.I use 2 visitaplus though&it last 4me&it works 4my babyHydrocortisone cream is a very strong steriod that I don't even use for myself not to mention a baby. You should have also warned her that it should be used very sparingly and not for more than 3 days. |
Why not direct him to his parents? They will be in a better position to determine how much info to give. |
If it is the same Tony Nwonye that was NANS president, abeg Anambra run fast o. The guy na vulture. |
The Lagos State Government wishes to state clearly that it has neither terminated nor cancelled the Concession Agreement it entered into with the Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC) to reconstruct and expand the 49.36 km Eti-Osa Lekki-Epe Expressway. To set the records straight, Lagos State Government is engaged in buying back the rights pertaining to the concession ahead of the 30-year period stipulated in the Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) Concession Agreement. This is to be achieved by purchasing all the shares in LCC. The State Government came to this decision to buy back the rights in the light of several developments clearly not envisaged in the 2006 Concession Agreement (which became effective in 2008) a few of which are highlighted below. The project, given its pioneering nature, had some underlying assumptions and market indicators under which the transaction was concluded which have since drastically changed in a manner that it can no longer be sustained in its current form. Such include the devaluation of the Naira and costs of construction. The LCC, which is the special purpose vehicle representing the investors, formally brought it to the attention of the State Government that given the rapid rise in interest rates on local loans, and other cost parameters, it is compelled to raise tolls currently being charged at Toll Plaza One from N120.00 to N144.00 per Car. The Concessionaire also brought it to the attention of the State Government, that as provided for under the agreement, tolling would have to commence at Toll Plaza Two. In addition, the Concessionaire indicated that unless it realised more income from increased rates at Toll Plaza One and commence tolling at the same rate per Car at Toll Plaza Two, it would not be able to meet its commitments to investors in the project and continue to fund completion of the remaining sections of the road. Furthermore, the LCC stated that Toll Plaza Three, as contained in the Agreement, must be built and tolls collected for the continued viability of the project. Under such circumstances, the Lagos State Government felt obliged to buy out the interests of the Concessionaire in advance of the hand-over date of 2038 under a mutual settlement option also expressly provided for in the Concession Agreement. This is after due consultation with all major stakeholders including the Lagos State House of Assembly based on various feedback and agitation made to the Government. Contrary to the misleading reports by some sections of the media on Wednesday, August 27, 2013 from the State House of Assembly’s consideration and approval of the 2013 Supplementary Budget, the buy-back is not and does not amount to a “termination” or “cancellation” of the concession of Eti-Osa, Lekki-Epe Expressway. The significance of the buy-back, for which the State Government deserves commendation, is that it allows the Government to take full control over the determination of the toll rates in order to continue to make it affordable for road users. The LCC shall therefore continue to operate as a fully commercial entity for the benefit of taxpayers and the larger society. More importantly, it would also preserve the ability of the Government to complete and deliver the infrastructure by direct budget funding, which was also one of the reasons for the presentation of the Year 2013 Budget Re-Ordering to the State House of Assembly. In addition LASG wishes to reaffirm its unflinching commitment to the adoption of PPP Model as a complementary policy thrust for the acceleration of infrastructure delivery towards improving the living standards of the populace. Lagos remains an investor friendly State that shall continue to ensure the sanctity of contracts, as in this case, in sustaining investors’ confidence in its investment climate as a preferred destination. The general public is therefore enjoined to continue to cooperate with LCC's officials and operatives as it continues the expansion and construction works on the 49.36km Eti-Osa Lekki-Epe Expressway and the operations of the toll collection systems. LASG wishes you a safe and happy motoring experience on the modernised expressway with its associated free value added services such as 24/7 security patrol, vehicle break down recovery, ambulance services, amongst others. Seems a lot of people posting have never seen the lekki-Epe road and just pull out info from questionable sources. First, buildings and businesses do not open up directly to the expressway. There are designated entry and exit points. The whole road is fenced off except at those points. Second.ly, there are speed limits in place. Anyone driving there that has not seen the big round white sign with a red border showing 50 or 40 as the speed limit doesn't know road signs and shouldn't be on the road. People hardly respect the speed limit. Please, more pedestrian bridges are required as a matter of urgency. While at it, they need fly-overs at the roundabouts to ease traffic. People die everyday on that road just be very careful. |
Hummingbird: thnk u my dear sister..m only xpressing out d milk and throw away,(breast wey no get plenty milk befor)..and yes labetalol is used to treat high bp in pregnant n nursing mothers..d main reason m nt breastfeeding is cos of d oda drugs n injections...the only tin left nw is dis terrible cold especially in the evening, I shake like smthng else,d injection to subside d cold jst work for like 30mintues n anoda round of cold starts again, dnt knw wat else to do,any suggestion might help plsI can't imagine how u feel. Take this e-hug from me. Wish you a quick recovery. |
tjskii: @warfibabe,we're in d same shoes, just that my 2ndboy is a month old, abeg ow do u handle ur 19mnth old,my son is driving me up d wall, hez sooooooooo naughty these days, hez always hiting, pinching and biting peopl(funny enuf he dosnt do it to guests, just those of us whho live wth him)and wen I spank him or bite him bak,he just rubs d spot, smiles and continues wth d naughtiness, hez always climbin chairs, throwing down speakers and d latest now is that he starts crying for no reason, pls I nid help mummyz in d house,ow do I go bout this tell me he'll outgrow this, cos spanking, coaxing, nothing seems to work, combined wth d newbaby, who seems to enjoy exercising his vocal chords,I feel lik runnin away and returnin after lik 3yrs(wen thyl be older and less naughty),to ask for 4gvnessWhat you described was my son to a tee. He was so naughty then though he has calmed down and learnt a new form of naughtiness. First of all, if you can get someone to help you with the two, accept the help. Next, try carrot and stick method. When you talk to him try and not shout or show that you are angry. Talk as if you are reasoning with him. Tell him he is being naughty and if he continues, he won't have ".....". And make sure you follow thru. Don't worry about him not understanding, he will. If he does something you like, make a big deal of it and praise him well. Don't give "gifts" or "rewards". It will worsen your condition. I am speaking from experience. Be firm always. Tell him what behaviours are acceptable or not. Encourage him to play nice by always stating the consequences and following thru. If you are a Christian, always pray for him and speak only good of him. My dear, this will soon pass. As he grows older, he will move from all these pinching, biting to other annoying things. Just hold firm and try not to get frustrated with him. If you feel yourself about to loose it, distract him with a game while you compose yourself. The most important thing is to spend quality time with him. Time when he is not sharing you with any other person but has your undivided attention. You will notice that during such times, annoying behaviour will be very low. Sorry for typos. |
kevoh: The delays might also have been caused by imminent bad stormy weather have you considered that option too?No need to be condenscending. I think i am reasonably smart. I will know if its environmental factors or otherwise. Dana flew 3 times during that period. Every other airline flew that day more than once. It was so terrible that day. The annoying part is that no one said anything until they finally called our flight. |
This is not correct! Medview are known for keeping to Time. No other airline keeps to time as much as they do.
I am saying the gospel truth. I flew them to Abuja and return. It was hellish. They shifted my 2 o'clock flight 5pm. We finally left past 7 and i was flying with my baby. Return trip was same. My 5:30pm flight back did not leave till 7pm again. Both times i was with my baby and it was a horrible experience. Nearly everytime i am in the airport i keep hearing Medview flight has been postponed. I challenge anyone to listen out anytime they are in the airport. You will always hear Medview has been postponed. Maybe that is why their flights are so cheap. |
demmykay: Pls wat can I apply to M̶̲̥̅γ̲̣̣̥ babys bombom to clear off nappy rash? I noticed it yesterday nd I have been appling sudocream. But der seems to be no visibly healing. Response needed ASAP as it makes him cryYou have used it just for one day. It takes time to work. Use the sudocream (or any zinc oxide cream) for at least 3 to 5 days to see results. In the meantime, try to air the baby's bum and change her diapers frequently. Make sure her bum is very dry before wearing her diapers and check to ensure that the diapers you are using are actually absorbent and not keeping her wet. Personally, i use sheabutter and it clears up after a while. I used to use zinc oxide creams before but i feel they are just expensive and vaseline/sheabutter can do the work. |
sexyshe: Pls mothers apart from the five free vaccine governmet give to babies is it necessary to give my baby retroviral vacine, was told in the health centre she collects the vaccine that retroviral is 13000naira and it will be given to her thrice that's 39000 naira.is the vaccine compulsory, cos some mothers told me its not?thankksIf it is Rotavirus you mean, i think it is very important. The Rotavirus causes a baby to stool excessively. But i think its just twice. Also, there is a particular age that they can take it, sfter that, the doctors won't allow your child to take it as it will do more harm than good. Look at that table that Itsmelex posted. I think that is the right time. |
Medview that always cancel, delay flights. I cannot use Medview for local flights even if they are the only flight and they are usually cheaper. |
This was such an amazing week. To think that if Anelka had not quit i wont have bought Dzeko and captained him to boot. Hope it continues. |
This week is getting better and better for me. Still have 9 points on my bench and 3/4 players yet to play. |
Since the husband has zero sperm, if they decide to go the IVF route, they will need to use a donor sperm. And we know that IVF is not 100% successful. Save yourselves time, stress and money and just do a legal adoption. |
sexyshe: Pls can I use implanon as a form of birthh control.I hav a child and I don't want to get pregnant for now.if u are on implanon, pls what's your experience lik.thanks mothersDo tests (I think its hormonal profile tests) before using it. My friend did not do so and later found out that she had progesterone (hope I got the spelling) overload. She did not have periods and was always tired and moody. Finally when her period came, it went on for 2 months. The doctor had to start her on estrogen oral contraceptives to balance it. Now, she is having all the estrogen overload symptoms. The good thing is that it is for 3 yrs and you don't have to remember to take any medication. Once u do the test and its ok for your system, then go ahead. Especially if you have had kids and want a break. |
missmishel: hellow mothers in the house, wel done. pls at what month should a mother lay down and breast feed the baby? i've not been having enough sleep cos my baby wakes up almost every 1hr to feed and it's really affecting me. i wish i could lay down and bosom feed, but some1 said he's too small.I started lying down to breastfeed my 2nd baby from when he was 1 week. I didn't know there was a syle to it so he had an ear infection. When the paediatrician treated him, she showed me how to do it perfectly. Since then till he stopped breastfeeding, it was just the most comfortable way. There are youtube videos and stuff on the internet to show u. You don't just leave him to lie down, you must elevate his head with your arm or a pillow. |
goking: Hello mums,APTAMIL,SIMILAC ADVANCE and ENFAMIL which of dis formula is D best fopr Preterm babyI used Pre-Nan for my preterm baby. It was recommended by the paediatrician and was well tolerated by my baby. Don't know about the ones u listed. |
