coogar: it wasn't fake....

apparently, the imam delayed the service by one hour otherwise many worshippers would have been killed.
Of all the days to delay prayers, it had to be the day that a bomb went off. Now, they have their 15mins of fame.
If you wanted this story to explode on Nairaland, then you shouldn't have posted it in this section. Just saying.

No be accounting firm again? They should both send out their cv's to other firms who are looking for experienced auditors. They can both apply to companies looking for people with auditing experience.
It is easier for a man to get a job than a married woman cos she might be pregnant, etc etc.

I wonder how accounting firms recruit these days. Thought a requirement was to be able to think outside the box. See his big head like head of house.

You know what I would have done? I would wait until he is fast asleep and then drop stabilizer on his head. I will take out all his belts and beat him very well. In fact, if I can tie him to the bed without waking up, I will. I will only stop when he is unconscious.
Then I take all my stuff and his for good measure and move out of his sad lonely life. Anuofia.

I don't mean to sound confrontational. Hope you can take some constructive criticism.

I guess this what people meant when they said your budget was near impossible. Cutting cost is good but over prudence is not.

I may not be a "builder" but I have had first hand knowledge of a mini estate built in PH. Foundation will have to be reinforced cos of ground water and you now know the cost. Enugu doesn't have such issues but PH and Lagos always need such consideration.

No need for insults cos I just expressed an opinion. We are all learning and I enjoy following his threads.

My baby had it and i did absolutely nothing. I didnt even realise when it covered. In my opinion, silverbird is too strong for a new born baby. It says on d pack, not to be placed on skin.

Your husband is probably gay. He married you to hide his "gayness" and have children. Now he has those, he sees no need to hide anymore.
I know a couple like that. We were all suprised when he said he was getting married. They have 2 boys now and the guy is practically living wit his boyfriend abi na girlfriend. The wife will be making same complaints as you.

omopretty1: I don't think there's any need to stop breastfeeding the baby, my son also had jaundice and i breastfed him while he was undergoing treatment (phototherapy).
Like i said, stopping breastfeeding while undergoing treatment makes it go faster especially if the child has really high levels of bilirubin.

Who is affected?
For reasons that are unclear breastfeeding a baby increases the risk of them developing jaundice which can often persist for a month or longer. It is estimated that 1 out of 10 breastfed babies will still have jaundice when they are one month old.

(Though in most cases the benefits of breastfeeding far outweigh any risks associated with jaundice).
Source: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Jaundice-newborn/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Infant jaundice is a common condition, particularly in babies born before 38 weeks gestation (preterm babies) and breast-fed babies.

Also, let your wife stop breastfeeding until the jaundice goes. It makes it go faster.
Health › Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by blank(f): 9:12am On Jul 02, 2013
@Alenkakent, take ur baby straight back to the hospital. Do not joke with jaundice in babies. If the level is less than a certain amount, u can watch her at home. If not, let them put her under the photolights ao that she receives the treatment she requires.
Google jaundice and see the long term implication if your "gamble" doesn't go the way you envision it. My son was under the lights for 5 days and got cured.

Issfat: hi mums, my 10 months boy has nt bn tkn teething syrup, i only gives him paracetamol or gripe water once in a while when having temperature and he only have 2 lower teeth since 6 months but i was told dt i suppose to hv started prican or bonababe. Is it compulsory to use it and which on is more effective
Please, do not mind them. You are doing great. His teeth will come in its own time. My son had teeth from 4 months and then no new one since he was 7 months. Each child has a different system. Giving Piccan or whatever will not make the teeth come out faster.

It is a means of controlling the woman. Imagine him withholding money when they quarrel. If I am the woman, I will get a job and start being my own person. If he wants to use that as a reason to leave, then so be it. Why doesn't he stay at home while I work?

At the registry, they will ask if all the traditional rites have been done. You can lie and say yes as they do not check but that is your own business.
However, know that court wedding is real marriage. You guys will need to get a divorce if the relationship breaks down.

pappilo: Whilst I have no sympathy for criminals, I think Nigeria is doomed if majority of its youth as shown here on this forum think it is okay to execute a convicted man while he has an appeal pending in court.

How can any sane person think it is okay to simply call a man out of his cell and lead him to the gallows without prior notice?
ALL as in EVERY single one of the prisoners had their appeals rejected at the supreme court. The appeals they are talking of is for them to not execute them. When Supreme court has said they should execute them.

I will go and dig up their law case histories and stories then you can judge for yourself.

sexyshe: Pls mothers I need your help,I have a five weeks old baby who sleeps during the day but doesn't at night, from 8pm to 3 or 4am she's awake, eyes wide open an sometimes cry,I try everythin to make her sleep but she won't,I will change change her diapers several times, feed her, carry her but eyes stil wide open.it makes me. Worry cos I don't sleep at night anymore and I wil resume work on monday,I wakeup looking. Very tired and stressed, pls mothers do babies hav sleeping drugs so I can giv to her at night to help her sleep.pls mothers I need urgent reply, thanks
You have to teach her that night is for sleep and daytime for napping and play. Set out a one week plan. Start by ensuring she stays longer in the monings before she sleeps. Even if she is grumpy, extend it. Play with her, make sure the room is bright with light when she is sleeping in the daytime. Don't let her wake up by herself. Wake her up after like 1 hr and then feed and play with her. Continue to stretch the time she stays awake in the morning but in the night (put her to bed from 6 or 7pm, she will sleep longer than if it is later). Give her a warm bath, feed her, no playing at all, keep the lights dim, feed her very well and then put her to bed. Do not play with her etc. Let her get used to night time being sleep time before you can now bring in new things. Sometimes allow her to cry for a little while.

I had to do it for my 2nd son when he was proving nightrider. He now sleeps at 6:30pm till 12 when he will eat agin and then sleep till 5 the next morning. He is 9 months now.
What then do we give to a child that has cough. Am battling with one now, even hospital gives cough syrup to babies.
maran1983: My dear, I didn't wait to be told before I stopped giving my kids any cough syrup.
I read an article where a pediatrician advised against cough syrups and co for children.
What I do instead is give steam baths and use mentholatum or silverbird mixed with shea butter for them when they catch a cold.
All the cough syrup i gave were from the hospital. It was when he started having asthma symptoms that we took him to a specialist and they told us the cause. My brother who is a doctor had mentioned it before but i ignored it as it seemed so harmless. Do what the poster suggested above if you need to treat a cold.

FG should actually impose that on Nigerian citizens so that we do not travel. Some people may be able to do 3000 pounds but most will not be able to do 23,000 pounds. By the time they see that Nigerians are no longer coming to shop and it hits their economy hard, no one will tell them to remove it.

Please throw away any cough syrup or expoctorant you have. It causes future problems for the child. I am battling with asthma like symptoms in my toddler cos of all the expectorants he has taken. In fact, i have stopped all multivite and stuff. Just Ventolin for now.
