Wendy80: Hello Mums,
Pls can I give my 8month old babe quaker Oat?
@Goking joor no vex oh
I did it. For my first, i waited till he was 1 yr because he is such a picky eater but for the second one, i gave him from 7 months. He was okay. No issues. He also had a ravenous appetite and could eat anything, literally anything. At 6 months, he was already eating a sizable portion of semo and soup. First read the instructions on the packet and then ask your pediatrician. I feel 8 months is okay to start him on oats because of the consistency instead of just pap.

omogemi: also has anyone tried the SMA toddler 1-3. pls whats ur opinion abt the milk in comparism to peak 123
I used Peak 1-2-3 for my toddlers until someone mentioned that Nido was better as it had more nutrients. Naturally curious, i compared the two products and Nido has almost double of whatever Peak has on their pack. I ported straight to Nido and i have not looked back once. It also helped that my two boys did not react to it and took it in their stride.

lawyer: @brabus

I want to ask you one straight question. Are You a trained Architect, Builder or Structural Engineer with certification. If Yes then send me your Details and certificates privately Via email and i will resolve this matter once and for all. If not i will not allow you ever solicit jobs on Nairaland here as a professional ever.
I think why lawyer is asking for his credentials is because some of the allegations against him is that he lied about his credentials. It is okay to say you have just experience. When it becomes fraud is for you to say you have experience and technical qualifications which are made up. He should show lawyer evidence of his credentials and he should let us know what his findings are. Let us even start from there.

seundaniels: Hello everyone, hope every is great! Please I need ur view on this- my baby would be 6months on friday bt I noticed his poo has been greenish. He poos well which means like 2 times or more daily depending on the way he feeds from birth. He is on exclusive breastfeeding so I am wondering if there is sumone that has any idea what the issue is.
There are two reasons for this (from my experience).
1. If you have ingested anything that has a strong green colour (as in artificial green colouring additive)
2. If your child ingested some bacteria especially if he also has watery stool.

For the first one, nothing you can do, it will pass normally.

While the second has to be treated. Give ORT in the meantime and then Flagyl (not the adult one, the one for kids). PLease go and see a doctor just to be on the safe side.

Do not be discouraged. Place your orders with whichever company but choose pay on delivery and place your order well in advance. Keep sending emails to know your status and keep tracking online.
Business › Re: Konga Or Jumia: Which Is More Reliable? by blank(f): 8:11pm On Dec 08, 2013
My issue with Konga is that it took them 1 week to tell me one item was out of stock and a week and a half to deliver my other items thus 2 weeks and a half in total. However, i have not had cause to return any item as they were all on point. Why can't they be like Dealdey that have perfected their logistics? and they say they are sister companies.

Taafoo is great just that they have lots of knock-offs but they also have the originals and their delivery is 2 days max.
Business › Re: Konga Or Jumia: Which Is More Reliable? by blank(f): 8:06pm On Dec 08, 2013
Neither of them. However, i prefer Konga to Jumia. Almost every thing i bought from Jumia had to be returned. I bought a dvd and a book for the first time in 2011 as a father's day gift. It arrived 2 months after the said date. I was angry and refused to use them again. I changed my mind in 2012 and ordered a toaster. I had to return it as the lights fell out immediately i opened the box. I got a replacement 1 week later and it spoilt in 2 weeks time. Went out and bought another one and other such things.

My recent experience with them was for a pair of shoes. Had a wedding to attend and no time to go to the shops. I made sure i ordered one month in advance just in case and that was my saving grace. They sent an sms after 3 days that my items were ready. I was so delighted. I decided to track my order online only to see that the shoes had been cancelled and no one called to inform me (pay on delivery). The next day, the dispatch called that he was ready to deliver my package. This seemed fraudulent to me because no one had informed me that part of my order was cancelled, what if my girl at home had just given them the full money since that was the message i left. I sent an email and they replied with other shoes that i might like. That was the last straw for me.

I prefer Dealdey and Taafoo dot com.

Remember one day as a corp member in PH, i went to the market to buy a pair of shoes. I saw a lot of people gathered around something. When i cam closer, i realized that they had just killed a cat. I overheard someone saying that the "God don catch them. So this is the with that has been stopping his business from booming". I went to meet him to find out how he can be certain that it was the cat's fault. He said that any day the cat crossed their roof, they won't sell and will lose money. God now made the cat to fall down that day.

Felt so sorry for the poor cat and all cats in Nigeria.
Fashion › Re: Toke Makinwa Dressed In Tissue Paper by blank(f): 4:55pm On Dec 05, 2013
mitey: Really?? undecided

Well here are some reasons:
1. The people in the video you showed are actually fully clothed under the tissue paper
2. Her ribbon/hair band whatever is made of tissue paper
2. We(men) do NOT attend bridal showers?? cool
She was clothed underneath the tissue. The theme of the bridal shower was pajamas/nightdress party. She was wearing a nightie under the tissue. Common guys. Its a bridal shower for crying out loud. I can forgive guys for not knowing but females should know. (except they grew up under a rock).

I have gone to some and so not plan on going to others. The infuriating part is that thay do not even try to package the place well. Everything is just as it was years back. No attempt to discreetly add modern features or make the roads accessible, etc etc.

It was a hellish trip with my young son and i won't be embarking on such again.

Been gone from this thread for just a couple of months and it has degenerated to this.
@ Brabus, why can't you finish strong? After starting so well.
There is nothing i hate as much as asking someone to supply something and they supply an inferior product. Why not just increase the mark-up than sending fake?

However, i am a little confused. We can see the electric poles and lines, does it mean what is left for the electrification is to connect it to the transformer? I am sure Brabus has a good explanation for all these and he will make it right in the end.

If you are staying in a Nigerian community, you can usually get someone who would not mind looking after your kids while you are in school for lower than the cost of creches. Maybe someone in your Church, etc.

@op, please do let us know what school you teach in so that we don't send our kids there. I went to an international school, one of the ones you mentioned. However, you won't hear them making the kind of mistakes you have made in your write-up. It is a thing of fear. So, after paying such high school fees, my kids won't have good teachers?

Help me o Lord to make the right choices.

I like what Amhappy said. I think the wedding should be postponed till you guys can settle and by settle i mean know what you guys want. If its something you guys can fix, go ahead but if not, just run and do not look back. The same people that will talk now that you want to break the engagement is the same that will talk if you guys start having issues and God forbid, get divorced.

Bottom-line is that i do not think this is the best time to get married especially with all these insults flying around. I have noticed that during the run-up to a wedding, that disagreements are more heated than normal and they come up more frequently.
Family › Re: Advice On How To Annul A Traditional Marriage by blank(f): 7:53pm On Nov 26, 2013
kukus01: according to the Nigerian Constitution marriage act chapter 218 section 33-35:

Invalid Marriages

33. (1) No marriage in Nigeria shall be valid where either of the parties thereto at the time of the celebration of such marriage is married under customary law to any person other than the person with whom such marriage is had.

35. Any person who is married under this Act, or whose marriage is declared by this Act to be valid, shall be incapable, during the continuance of such marriage, of contracting a valid marriage under customary law, but, save as aforesaid, nothing in this Act contained shall affect the validity of any marriage contracted under or in accordance with any customary law, or in any manner apply to marriages so contracted.

please read the Bolded: traditional marriages are just societal norms and not under any law in the constitution your sister should walk!!! or rather RUN!!!!!
Traditional marriages are customary marriages i.e married under the customs and traditions of that particular area. There is no single customary law marriage rather it is defined by the individual's location (culture).

I have quoted snippets of the marriage act (which you quoted) that shows that the Constitution also recognizes customary law marriage. From the first quote, you can see that if you are already married under customary law to someone, you cannot marry someone else under the marriage act.

The second quote shows that if you are already married under the marriage act, you cannot go and marry someone else traditionally. Now, you RUN!!!!
Family › Re: Advice On How To Annul A Traditional Marriage by blank(f): 4:47pm On Nov 26, 2013
The reason I mentioned LGA is because the husband's people r refusing to collect the bride price. The reason I mentioned customary court is to give legal backing to the annulment just in case of tomorrow. You know Igbo traditional marriage is a full marriage and not engagement as others call it.
