Nothing wrong with it. Just make sure you take your pre-natal vitamins and eat healthily. It might be more tasking on you and make you more tired so watch your energy levels.

The taste may change although it is still very good for your baby. Most times, the babies just self wean cos of the change in taste.

tjskii: Hiy mummyz,ow body,my 2month old developed cough o,took him to d clinic and was given cough mixture and erythromicine. Dis was now wat I had a problem with,d drugs given are d type given to olderkids, just dt d dosage I'm to giv d baby is smaller,I wud av been happier if I was given infant cough syrup and erytromicine(then I wud be sure they had babies in mind wen making it),I called up 2oda docs to confirm and they said d drugs werr ok to giv d baby, went on d internet to do research and evrything I found out was against d use of coughmedicine in infants below 3mnths,I'm just confused, thinkin of stopping d coughmedicine, undecided
Hi, if you can avoid the cough syrup please do. It can cause breathing issues. Most of the cough syrups are expectorants. If the baby is too small to cough it up, it causes issues. This was what i learnt when faced with asthma in my 2 year old. The doctors said it could be as a result of the use of the syrup. That if i can avoid using it, i should.

Cough will pass by itself if not treated. Just keep the chest covered.

My personal experiences have not been good. They delayd both flights for hours without reason. I was flying with my baby so it was very traumatic. Anytime, i am in the airport, i always hear them announcing their flight delays and i hiss to myself. Will not ever fly them.
Family › Re: Recommend A Nanny In Ajah by blank(f): 7:43am On Sep 24, 2013
If you want to do a nanny, i think it will be preferable for the nanny to come to your house not you taking your baby to her house. You have to do medical tests for her and also have someone check up on them from time to time. It will be preferable to get a nanny you know and trust not all these ones brought from agencies. Do you have people in your church looking for work? Do you have a family member that can help you out?
Family › Re: Recommend A Nanny In Ajah by blank(f): 3:44pm On Sep 23, 2013
Why not do creche since you are open to dropping her off. I think it would be safer. Ajah has many good creches and at whatever price your pocket can afford.

I cannot believe this! 8th on Nairaland league! Can it be possible? We started from the bottom now we almost there.

Captaining Baines was just a great decision. 32 points from him. Can you believe that? This was a fantastic week.

I am actually going to be topping some of my head to head leagues. I better do screen shots to remind myself that all things are possible if you make the right moves. (Also, things might change next week).

Crime › Re: Pictures Of Nigerians Doing Silly Things For Money by blank(f):
Funny pics. The people posting them are scam baiters. They get scam emails and then knowingly play along with the scammers. Then they tell them stories like they are pastors in church of the fish and bread. They can't give out money if the scammers don't become members of their church. Some of the pictures above are examples of the membership initiation rites.

The scammers think they have gotten one mugu and are ready to do anything to get the money not knowing that the joke's on them.

My favourite website for such is 419eater dot com.
My sister na real waec questions o cheesy I just noticed they were numbered, sorry I only answered (1) and (3).So 4 this question pls when u r at home don't carry them even if they cry, give them a cup of milk(without sugar) twice a day cos it contains calcium n it strengthens bone, also get them walker then u can also take something they really like far from them n tell them 2 go and get it but in a fun way u can sing, dance, play music or they'll lose interest, when they try to craw l say 'NO' calmly and stand them up so that they understand u,keep on doing this and I pray it works.....
I don't think walkers help. They make the child overtly reliant on them and they become lazy. Do all the others she mentioned. Also, get some of their older cousins that are around the same age and are walking to come and visit for a couple of days. By the time they crawl around following them, they will soon be inspired to walk. But its not a big deal, some kids start walking at 18months and turn out perfectly healthy and very intelligent. Forgive typos abeg.

Family › Re: When To Start Using Tooth Brush On Children? by blank(f): 10:42am On Sep 19, 2013
From when the first teeth come out. As babies i.e before one year old, use flouride free totthpaste definitely not milk teeth toothpaste. Milk teeth toothpaste is for babies above 1.5yrs i.e when the baby can spit out. Swallowing flouride toothpaste is not healthy for babies. When my flouride free toothpaste finished, i started using glycerin and water but didn'teally like it. If there is no other one to use, use very little like a dot of it.

Have you seen people with brown teeth and specks of white giving a mottled look? its caused from too much flouride as kids.

Properties › Re: Buying Land In An Estate Vs Non Estate. by blank(f): 5:01pm On Sep 18, 2013
I used to believe in estates but now, i would rather buy in a reasonable area and pray to God for security. It will be an area that later we can build a street gate and pay small money for security. Estates are good when you have money. Without money, don't go there. What happens when you retire, how do you pay the service fees? Some so called estates are nothing but glorified gated streets. No common areas for children to play, etc.
Family › Re: Is My Son's School "Over Teaching?" by blank(f): 2:25pm On Sep 18, 2013
This has turned into a discussion on teaching methods. British based curriculum teaches based on rote system while American based curriculum teaches based on problem solving. If you do not like how they are teaching your child, either change the school or teach him yourself. As parents, we should not abdicate our responsiblities.

Family › Re: Is My Son's School "Over Teaching?" by blank(f): 5:28pm On Sep 17, 2013
I, personally, dont think the school is "over-teaching" or "teaching what the kid's do not comprehend". There are kids there that understand and are enjoying the class. If you feel your child is not coping with school work or not comprehending, simply ask for your child to be placed in a lower class. By the time your child reaches the next class, he will be able to follow.

Also, don't forget to teach your child as well while at home.

Please mothers, let us not get too hysterical. Prednisolone is a strong steriod no doubt but sometimes it can save our children's lives! My fear is that we will start rejecting the drug but it has its uses. I don't know about measles but i know it is an anti-inflammatory drug that can be used to treat asthma, certain skin rashes, bonchial inflammations, allergic reactions, chest infections etc.

It is a very effective drug that can save a kid's life when it is necessary. I have had cause to use it for my son and it worked immediately where others failed. The doctor's are professionals. Let them do their job. It doesnt mean that we just accept their word as law but you can ask them questions and ask for an alternative if you are still uncomfortable.

From what you wrote, the injection was pcm but the prednisolone was given orally?

By schedule I mean, they have a time they eat, nap, play read, etc. Now, they know what to expect at any time and welcome it.

The disadvantage is that they do not like their schedule being disrupted. E.g we go out and return late, they become so grouchy and over tired

Jade William: Is there any technique mothers use dat I dn't knw on whch makes children sleep early?
I put my kids on a schedule from when they were babies and now they sleep as if on clockwork. The younger sleeps by 6:30pm and the elder by 7: or 7:30pm. I also make sure they eat very well b4 sleeping.
Family › Re: Is My Son's School "Over Teaching?" by blank(f): 10:19am On Sep 17, 2013
I am in support of what the school is doing I believe that children should be pushed to the maximum so they get used to working at that level. If the kid is not coping and you will be able to tell, let the kid go back a class.

The world is getting more competitive, no place for slackers and late bloomers. Be happy. If you like, when your kid gets home, u can bring out the play stuff and let him have fun. Btw, the schools still teach rhymes, dance etc, whilst teaching the nos and stuff.

useless bonjela really helps its slod for 1k d
orignal one,I have never used teething powder
Please look at the ingredients in the Bonjela or whatever other teething mixture you use, u will see that the ingredients are same with most other pain relievers. Its just a more expensive paracetamol. Sometimes, we include paracetamol and still give teething mixtures, is that not overdose?

Also, giving a baby paracetamol needlessly ie when the child is not running a fever for a continuous period is just damaging the baby's liver unnecessarily.

fearless07: Hello mommas in d house. U ladies are doing a great job. Pls it is necessary to give my 4month old son teething powder. My cousin suggested it but am a bit skeptical about it cos my son is ok,he only drools. Thanks.
Pls leave all those teething powders, mixtures and stuff. Only give him paracetamol or Ibruprofen (if above 6months) when he has a fever. All those teething stuff are useless and do not help the child at all.
