Sorry if this sounds discriminatory but send the nanny away ASAP. Even if the baby did not get while being bathed what if the nanny knowingly infects the baby by cutting herself and the baby just cos she is frustrated? Do a HIV test for the baby immediately and after 6 months. Next time, do HIV, Hepatitis, tuberculosis, herpes test for your nanies before hiring them.

I used Bio-oil even before i got pregnant and thruoghout my pregnancy. I didnt know i had stretch marks till i had given birth and my stomach had gone down. See the ugly black things. I ditched the bio-oil for shea butter (ori) which i have used thruought my second pregnancy till now. Still have all the ugly black marks. None have faded.

Life goes on.

My husband is also very close to his mum and vice versa. It made me also very close to her and we are now best of friends. Now, she even calls to gist with me and then i tell my husband she called. Don't look at it as in issue. Look at it as an opportunity.
Nothing wrong in being close to her.
Family › Re: Living On My Own by blank(f): 12:18pm On Jun 17, 2013
Get used to living with a "roommate" cos when you get married you can't have that alone time. I have noticed that when it gets closer for a "good separation" like moving out to your own place, leaving a roommate, etc there is a tendency to not be as tolerant as you would ordinarily be.
Have you noticed that friends fight after living together for years at the point when someone is about to leave. I don't know if I am being concise or if u understand me.
You need to decide within yourself to let go of grievances etc. You can do what my cousin did and just ignore everyone in the house. Come home and go straight to your room till morning. Morning, you go to work. Weekends, you stay in your room or go out all day. It's not the best but it's better than unnecessary arguments.

soapdish: Thanx @ itsmelex. I appreciate. You know how people say different things when they come visiting new borns.I was getting worried whether there is something I'm supposed to do that am not doing. I'll start sitting him @ 4 months.
15 weeks is not too early but do whatever you are comfortable with. Started sitting him at 12 weeks and by 15 weeks he was sitting comfortable.

For his neck, start putting him on his tummy until he is tired but not o sleep as his neck is not yet strong. It also encourages him to learn how to crawl early.
Family › Re: Shhhhhh...i Am Pregnant by blank(f): 1:10pm On Jun 14, 2013
My first pregnancy, initially people were saying i should not tell people. I had started lying and thought how ridiculous i was sounding cos in 9 months, people will see its a lie. So i told people even strangers. People will even cover my mouth but i was excited. My first couple of months was in the UK and they loved asking about EDD which was my pleasure.

When i had my baby by CS and more than a month early, people were saying it was my enemies that i should not have told people. I kept updating my status on my BB till i went into the labour room. It was an experience i wanted to share with the world.

Will i do the same again? I will and i did. I don't hide such things. I had (emphasis on had) a friend who kept dribbling on such info till she put to bed. She then called me so that i will start rushing down to the hospital to see her? Mtchheww. Life is too sweet to waste time on negative people.

@ Katangara, which hospital will release a dead body without giving a death certificate. How can the patient be telling the doctor his job? Who should know better, the doctor or the patient? Your version does not make sense in the least.
Crime › Re: Baby’s Eyes, Private Part Removed In Hospital by blank(f): 7:17pm On Jun 11, 2013
I am sure the doctor killed the child. From the original story, the boy was getting better and then the doctor injected him with something that made his stomach swell. When he finally died, the parents left him to go and see to making burial plans.

When they returned the next day, the nurse told them that it seems the child was killed by an arrow from the village. Then showed him the mutilated corpse.

You can see that the whole hospital is into the rituals.

lullabi: my 7moth baby has not started crawing, and sheis not big, she sometimes refuses food, cant seem to know the food she ikes best, am so bad a mother and a wife too
You can help her by putting her on her tummy a lot. Let that be her position throught the day. Also, you can roll a towel into a thick roll and put it against her chest just under her arms and gently help her along. She will soon get the hang of it. Although some babies do not crawl but go straight to walking.

trinity042: I just discovered this thread and I'm loving it, my baby will be 5ms come 12th of this month, he refused taking d SMA I gave him, he prefers d Brst milk. My problem now is my brst is now on fire, d surroundings is now peeling off. I really need an alternative cos I'm scared of feeding him because of d pains I'll go thru.
I had this issue and i found out that it is because the baby is not latching on well. He is sucking just your nipple and it will continue to happen until you can teach him the best way to suck. Also, you can use nipple balm to cure the wounds.
Family › Re: My Wife Called, Crying That She Is Pregnant Again by blank(f): 12:11pm On Jun 10, 2013
nikkykay: Does he mix with other kids? If he sees competition, he will be eager to walk. I dont think it is a good idea to keep kids @ home. You can take him to creche and let him mix with other kids.
Those teachers @ school do fantastic jobs as well becos d kids always have ds kinda fear dat ds aint my parents so let me behave
Getting him a walker can also help him to walk. Tell ur wife or coz to always drill him.
In d case of taking drugs, i used to go thru that but than k God for wisdom.
I used to put the syrup in her food & atimes juice but now she points at her drugs now and opens her mouth to take it.
They can always hold his hands and encourage him to walk.
I don't think the last sentence is the best way to go. It doesn't help them develop confidence rather it makes them dependent on you for balance. I just noticed it with my son and i had to read up about it. He has fallen so many times when he tries to grab me to support him when he walks. Let him interact with other kids that are walking. He will definitely walk soon.

Congrats on your baby. May God give you the grace to take care of your children and may you live to see them become successes. Amen.

@pinkdaisy,express milk in a bottle to know exactly how much she is eating. Then you will know if your milk is enough for her at her age. Also, you need to check your posture while breastfeeding and if you need a pillow or nursing support. Even if you nurse for 2 hrs, ur back should not hurt.

I am surprised to hear that it's a big deal if a baby has a bigger opening. My baby had it. His was up to his face. I didn't do anything about it neither did anyone make a fuss about it and it is now totally covered. We learn new things everyday.

I had this same issue a couple of days. I know he is too old to have that fore milk/hind milk issue. So I went to d doctor and he immediately started him on flagyl and ort. He started running temperatures at nite until the 3rd day when everything cleared. Said it was an infection he picked up.
I had started him on septrin as the older one had diarrhoea without the green stool and septrin was working for the older one but it didn't work for him. Hope you got help.
Family › Re: Married Folks What Kind Of Contraceptive Do You Use? by blank(f): 12:27pm On May 30, 2013
I use Implanon. It is an implant in your arm. No need to calculate anything or remember to take injections or swallow pills. Good side effect is that i have not seen my period since i started using it. Bad effect is that i have added my baby weight back but i am working on it. It is good for 3yrs.

kessy girl: Please I'd like to know if it is adviceable to buy baby bed or let my baby sleep on my bed.
Another thing, please what can I pack in my hospital bag to take to the hospital.
Thank you.
It is your choice as to where your baby should sleep. I find that having a baby cot is a waste and ends up taking space in your room. However, you have to balance it with the danger of rolling ontop of your baby while sleeping. There are other benefits and disadvantages for both choices. It is your choice. You can do some more research.

Your hospital will give you a list of things to bring to the hospital. You can ask the matron there.

Immediately start your baby on ORT. Go to any pharmacy and buy it. Your child can become dehydrated. Eva water is not enough.
If your baby has diarrhoea, the cause could be:
an infection, such as gastroenteritis too much fruit or juicea reaction to medicationa sensitivity or allergy to a food type.

Greenish poo seems to me like your baby is having too much of the fore milk (light milk that first comes out) than the hind milk. Make sure you breastfeed for a long time on one breast before you move to the other. MAke sure she empties that breast before you move to the other one.

The wife shld stop crying wolf. The day something bad really happens to her, no one will do anything for her cos of past experiences.
The brothers have probably left her to carry her cross since she wants to stay in the marriage.

Why are you people lying and being hypocritical? She showed her true colours on Gulder ultimate search. That was when people knew that you can't judge a book by its cover. She was so wild, arrogant and a bully. She kept bullying Muma Gee until she burst into tears.

I cannot stand the woman. The guy that said she has wild eyes is saying the truth.

ARM pensions, Sigma pensions, etc. I don't particularly like StanbicIBTC cos their returns are rather low. You would think with the volume of business they have that the returns should be better but its not the case.
