why-we-barred-females-from-wearing-trousers-in-offices-plateau-govt Why we barred females from wearing trousers in offices – Plateau govt On July 27, 2011 · In News BY TAYE OBATERU Jos—The Plateau State Government has said the barring of females from wearing trousers at the state secretariat and other government offices was part of the campaign against indecent dressing. Head of Service in the state, Mr. Moses Gwom who gave the clarification in an interview with newsmen said it was also in line with the 10-point agenda of Governor Jonah Jang’s administration of which ethical re-orientation was one. He said indecent dressing by females should not be condoned in offices where government business were conducted hence those considered not to be properly dressed were turned back from the secretariat. The policy which started over a year ago has seen many women sent back from the gate of the Joseph Gomwalk Secretariat and other government offices for wearing trousers or other dresses considered indecent. A woman who was once turned back from the secretariat described the experience as “embarrassing” arguing that she did not consider wearing of trousers as indecent. She told Vanguard that rather than a blanket ban on the wearing of trousers by women, what was considered indecent should be well defined so as not to embarrass people unnecessarily. She said: ”On the day in question, I was wearing a trouser suit which is an acceptable mode of formal dressing anywhere in the world, but I was turned back and could not transact the business for which I went there”. |
Anambra denies taking Islamic Bank loan On July 27, 2011 · In News BY EMMAN OVUAKPORIE & BEN AGANDE ABUJA — Anambra State government has denied any relationship with an Islamic bank as claimed by governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, while defending the proposed Islamic bank financial policy before members of the House of Representatives last Thursday. Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, representing Awka/ Dunukofia in Anambra State, yesterday, presented a letter by Anambra State government denying ever transacting any business with an Islamic bank. She told the House that the CBN governor should correct the misinformation, claiming she had received numerous calls from home asking questions about the veracity of the claim. The letter, signed by the Finance Commissioner, Eze Echesi, read in part: “Anambra State did not at anytime take any loan from Islamic Development Bank. Some time in 2007/2008, Anambra State was among the three qualifying states viz: Yobe, Gombe and Anambra, for support from the Federal Government under the National Programme for Food Security Expansion Phase Support Project. “As a qualifying state, based on established criteria, the Federal Government earmarked funds for on-lending to the three qualifying states for the purpose of assisting in the financing of this project in the states. “The responsibility for identifying the source and sourcing of such funding is and has remained that of the Federal Government which could have obtained such funds from either Islamic Development Bank or any other bank and anywhere for that matter. “To put the records straight, there was no time that Anambra State approached Islamic Development Bank for any facility or financing of any sort.” Lamido had last Thursday told members of the House that Anambra State obtained a loan from the bank. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/07/anambra-denies-taking-islamic-bank-loan/ |
CrazyChica:Sorry about that but she really annoyed me. I gave advise and cos the truth was a bitter pill for a her to swallow she decided to start spewing her black thrash in my direction. Will modify it later but she is so annoying. |
This Lisa bullshit, do you reason with your brain or your anus? IF you really wanted to find out about traditional marriages in Nigeria you could have asked about that without going ahead to paint the guy as a devil. That is why i believe you have something untoward in your mind. You are the iidiot that brought your friend's business and pasted it all over the internet. I doubt you have a relationship cos u have too much time to poke your nose into your friend's business. My advise to you still stands, look for a job, arsewipe. Born again my left foot. You are definitely a devil pretending to be a lamb. You asked for advise and then you turn around to insult me. As for the user name insult, it is so dated. Abeg, keep your insults to yourself before you unleash the gates. Keep taking advantage of your friend. When you have finally slept with her husband that is when you will be satisfied. I know your type. Ugly murrafuka. |
My question still stands. Is she the dictator Tunde Bakare prophesied about? If i were her, i would be very good friends with Nemadi Sambo, maybe he will make her vice president in 2015. ![]() |
Is she the dictator Tunde Bakare prophesied about? |
Mxit still works. Lets go there. Abeg, make moderators help us to delete that offensive post by Udoka. |
Speaking from a finance side, the extra cost in paying instalmentally is a cost of sourcing for funds. If you are not able to save successfully, then pay the extra cost involved in paying instalmentally. Its a trade off, so u decide if the extra cost is worth it or you would rather wait and save it up knowing that inflation could diminish the value of your savings. Time value of money is very important in making the decision. That's why it is important to hedge your savings/investments. |
@ Markenny, you have misunderstood me. The topic is renewing an e-passport. I already have an e-passport that is not due to be renewed until 2013. I want to change the name on my passport. So, i was asking for the procedure and if i even need to change the name to apply for the visa. Thanks. |
This Lisafrowns sef. U have advised your friend and she has refused to take your advise, pls leave her to God and the man she wants to marry. You have plenty of time on your hands o. You should be looking for your own husband and A JOB to keep you from idleness. If she finally agrees to marry the guy, i know you are the type that will carry immigration officers to the wedding to scatter the place. If she is happy while married to the guy, IT IS HER LIFE. MIND YOUR OWN. You seem to have an illicit plan of your own. |
Can i add a perspective to the example of your sister and Jide. Jide could afford to do what he did because he had the cash down but your sister had to keep saving and waiting till she had enough money to continue. You can only buy and renovate if you already have all the money you want to spend waiting in the bank. But if you plan on building little by little, waiting for whenever you have cash to continue then you CANT do a buy and renovate. My 50kobo. |
KAi, all my mixit votes have now been wasted. Time to change strategy. Karen is a winner. |
Thanks Markenny but i thought the reason for the e-passport is to stop multiple passports? Is it not illegal to have two e-passports and even impossible? Do u know anyone that did it and got away with it? I am really desperate now as i have my sister's wedding to attend next month and i don't have a visa yet cos of this passport thingy. |
^^^^^^ Win prize na. This topic is going to be very interesting. |
This blink182 is too annoying. ![]() |
Oga Spyder, can u be a bit more specific in giving your examples. e.g In Ajah Lagos, land could cost N2m Building an average 6units of 3 bedroom is N20m. Expected rent is 600k to 800k. That would be easier to put in perspective. |
The only hospital i know on that street is Faith City Hospital. Gleneagles (that i know o) is an international brand. So if they are opening on that street, good for them. |
blink182:Ignored. I am a better person. I don't go round spewing hate and vile rubbish. |
Thank you Eldee for giving me the opportunity to play. Was too scared during the world cup time to play then. Now, i have chopped enough liver and I proudly present the anointed one, ME, as the winner. Expect the press release (to a selected few) SOON. |
I can see the voice of SiaSia but the hand of Amodu |
Please, i need information. I got married and changed my name. Now i want to apply for a new visa and was thinking that i would need to change the passport. Does anybody know the procedure, i found out from a friend that the procedure is really onerous and i have to go to Abuja to do it. Does anyone have a clue? Do i even need to change my passport or i can use my old passport to apply for the UK visa? |
This is the funniest thread i have seen in a long time. I have been laughing so hard that my ribs want to crack. So u have money to buy a camry but no money to pay school fees? Don't worry, God will provide. |
@ Blink182, it is you and all your family that are obnoxious. Don't bring your hatred and nonsense here. I gave my opinion, pls do the same. You don't know me so don't start spewing thrash about me. Whether i am pessimistic or not, it is not your place to insult me. I can give better than i get so don't start what you can't handle. Bush rat like you. |
Pls, if it is information threads, put as many up as is needed. ![]() |
Double post. |
I am always skeptical about buying land in Lagos and Abuja. What if Nigeria decides to split and they say you should leave your land and go back to where you come from? Me, i am building for my kids so, i am looking at the long term sustainability. ![]() |
@ Pharoah, as for me, i no go gree. I am entering straight into premiership. So tell me, who do i need to bribe? ![]() That i ran away last year does not put me @ a disadvantage. ![]() I am premiership material. ![]() (Pls, put me with Duduspace make we dey sabi as we dey do am) |
Mine is still blowing rasperries and shrieking at the top of his voice to get attention. lol. |
Ur right jor. Its just that i think it is a law or something like that. They have people who are looking out for them (or they are looking out for themselves). |
