Didn't mean this thread to become a tribal bashing thread. Wanted to share some news i saw so that people will take extra care. Please moderators, can you lock or delete the thread. |
I used to beaf Fashola that he was not doing enough roads but i have to admit that i have overlooked the wonderful things he is doing. I have noticed that once a big pot hole comes up on a road that they have made, within a reasonable time, the road is repaired. Kudos to Fashola for that. |
@ PA1982, I was not confused on anything. Also, what does "irradicating" mean since you are the one that is not confused? |
I kind of agree with Davidylan. I guess the key phrase is 'mutual respect for both parties'. |
So no strike? Na wa o. These labour people are promise and fail. ![]() |
blank:Verb: Increase the level of moisture in (air): "a regulated flow of humidified air" Please how do you use this in this sentence: The arrest of the youth leaders, who had since been released, did not humidify the people, as they launched another attack on the company, destroying property, including its vehicles. |
One reason why some people won't mind that long pay back period is that they are taking surplus funds to invest to take care of when the funds may not be as plentiful like in 19 years, when you have retired. Or you may just want to leave a legacy for your kids so that they will always have someting to fallback on. |
When you say PE ratio, i guess you mean Payback period? You did not take into cognisance, the cost of funds. So the invested amount and annual rent have to be discounted to get the real payback period. Also, i think you are talking about prime location when you mention land for 12million. You can get cheaper land of say N2.5m in a good location that will still fetch you something close as per rent and the value of the land will still go up so you can sell if that is what you want. |
texazzpete:MR ITK, we have heard you. Who has not heard of Pfizer before? I have been part of the immunisation project as a volunteer. The feedback we were getting was that people had passed on urban legends of how the govt\foreigners want to reduce their population and this was an avenue. It was cos of the Pfizer issue. They don't know the name of the company but they do know the issue that happened (though the details have definitely changed). I won't trade insults with you cos i believe that there is a civilized way of exchanging opinions. You may disagree with my opinion but you don't need to insult me. |
Please, reduce waste by reducing the amount politicians get in the name of being special advisers and such thrash. |
WHAT THE HELL DOES "HUMIDIFY" MEAN? ![]() |
Hmmm. This guy has business sense. He will now own the telecommunications backbone, SAT3, etc and all other telecoms companies will pay interconnectivity to him. Let us see how he will tackle the redundant workers there who have refused to in peace. NLC will soon bare the ugly fangs (instead of at the FG). If it translates to cheaper calls and internet services, i am down with it. |

He should leave tax matter and trim waste like he is doing now. All those shouting that he should tax are not even living in Nigeria. Anywayz, Fashola does not have the power to increase PAYE but can send his agberos to harass us for nonsense tolls which is what i am upset about. |
@ Evil Brain, I already pay 22% of my monthly income as tax and u want Fashola to increase taxes, U are really wicked. This is apart from Service charge, VAT, road toll, car park charge, Fuel charge, water charge, agbero charge, etc. Na wah to u o. In Uk that the effective tax is almost 40%, they don't have to provide their own road, electricity, water, etc. I will soon enter business and take my chances with their stupid Tax force (LIRS). |
for minimum wage na. Abi, dem no wan strike again? |
@ Texaspette. You are quite a big f-ool for posting that thrash. I know it is meningitis. Do i need to have mentioned the name? Must you be spoonfed? Can you not make the inference that was so glaring in the post? Ok, let me help you. Since the MENINGITIS drug trial by Pfizer, parents have been skeptical of any such drug by drug companies. This has reached the extent that they have refused to send their "kiddies" for routine stuff like immunizations and stuff. How hard was that for you to understand? SMH. |
^^^^^^^^ The one that they did before, the drug company used their "kiddies" as guinea pigs and some died and are deformed and u want them to still trust the same companies? Put yourself in the parents' position. |
Police rescue suspected Boko Haram member in Ibadan TRAGEDY was averted at Mokola area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Sunday, when a Nigerien, suspected to be a member of the Boko Haram sect was attacked by a mob before he was rescued and taken to the Mokola Police Station in Ibadan. The Nigerien known as Aremu Kanunu, who is said to be a beggar, reportedly escaped being lynched by an angry mob that insisted that the suspect came to infiltrate a group of beggars in the area so as to gather information that could lead to an attack on one of the churches in the city. According to police report, however, Kanunu, who walks on crutches, was seen begging for alms at Omitowoju area, off Salvation Road, Ibadan on Thursday when he received a call on his mobile phone. A motorist that claimed to understand Hausa said he heard him saying that he would go and cause trouble in a church at the weekend. The beggar was pursued by the mob, arrested and beaten before being taken to the Police Station by a motorcyclist who was later confirmed by the police as a retired sergeant. When contacted, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Moses Onireti, said he was not aware of the arrest, but promised to investigate the matter. An Area Commander, who profered anonymity, was immediately dispatched to interrogate the suspect where he was detained at the Mokola Police Station. A team of police from the station, led by the Area Commander, also went to the spot where the suspect was said to be begging. The police said efforts to confirm whether Kanunu was a member of the beggars association in Ibadan were unsuccessful. However, the suspect, who spoke in Hausa, said he got to Ibadan nearly a year ago and had since been begging for alms in the area. He said trouble started when a woman (also a beggar) spat on him. He said, “When I accused her of spitting on me, she shouted at me and started calling me a member of Boko Haram". http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201108011321543 |
Vigilance group uncovers ritual killers den in Ogun By Francis Falola Monday, 1 Aug 2011 A vigilance group has discovered a den operated by a gang of ritual killers at Onipepeye community in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. PUNCH METRO gathered that mutilated and decomposed corpses, including that of a baby were found in the den, which could be accessed by a narrow footpath. It was learnt that a middle-aged man, who is a member of the gang, was arrested within the vicinity by the vigilance group and handed over to the police. The members of the vigilance group were said to have acted on a tip-off to invade the ritual killers den at Onipepeye area, on Siu-Owode Dual Carriage Road. The suspects on sighting the vigilance group opened fire on them in a bid to escape. While others escaped, nemesis caught up with the middle-aged man. He was subsequently arrested with Sports Utility Van allegedly brought to the area by the ritual killers. The vehicle was impounded and has since been handed over to the police at Owode. Mr. Musiliu Osho, the head of Labiade-Akaso Village under which Onipepeiye community belongs, described the situation as worrisome. Our children can no longer go to schools on their own, except we take them there and return them home. They are always afraid and we felt it was time to stop these ritual killers. We are passionately appealing to the state government to come to our aid by putting a stop to their activities, he stated. When contacted, Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the discovery, as well as the arrest of a suspect, adding that investigation into the matter is ongoing. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nicholas Nkemdeme, has ordered the transfer of the suspect to Eleweran Police Headquarters, while investigations have commenced in earnest. If the suspect is found culpable he will not be spared. Other collaborators will also be arrested and made to face the wrath of the law, he stated. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art2011080112464937 |

Enugu tanker fire: Six burnt to death, 20 houses destroyed ENUGU—SIX lives, about 20 houses, household property and goods worth millions of naira were lost in the fire outbreak that occurred following a fuel tanker accident in Enugu Thursday morning. The loud explosion from the tanker fire caused panic among residents of the area including those in Udi Siding and inmates of the Enugu Prisons who feared that it could be a bomb. Sources said some inmates on Awaiting Trial were said to have ran to different directions in the prison yard thinking that the wall had collapsed but they were disappointed when they discovered that the loud noise and the ensuing inferno came from outside the prison. In a swift reaction to the fire outbreak, Governor Sullivan Chime, yesterday, ordered that all illegal structures in the state capital be pulled down and removed within two weeks just as he commiserated with the victims. The tanker with registration number Lagos KT 968 JJJ belonging to Shorelink Oil and Gas Services Limited, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State fell while negotiating the Central Police Station, CPS roundabout in front of the Nigeria Prisons, Enugu at about 7. 05am. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/07/enugu-tanker-fire-incident-six-burnt-to-death-20-houses-destroyed-in/ |

I have seen all them terrace houses and i CANNOT live there for any money in the world. I would rather take that money and rent a duplex in Phase 1. Its just a glorified face me i face you. No matter how much the service company puts into making it private, its still too open. I cant stand not having space for my kids to run around in cos everywhere is parking space. Can't stand someone coming to knock on my door that i should move my car so he can park somewhere. Can't stand not being able to leave my curtains open if i so choose. Then, if God forbid, u have a cantankerous neighbour, wahala don start be that. I used to live in a terrace estate in Abuja with my family. When it was just my family and our immediate neighbour, things were great. By the time others started moving in, no one told my dad to sell and move out. Can't stand that feeling of suffocation or really annoying neighbours. Terrace houses should be in the projects. That is my own 50kobo. |
i was exclusively breastfeeding but got my period a week before my 6 week check up and its been regular since though very heavy. See your doctor ASAP. |
