Politics › Re: Adamu Garba: Cows Shouldn’t Be Roaming About In 21st Century by Blankstare(m): 5:21pm On Jan 24, 2021 |
SchmidtHammer: I spoke to my father-in-law,a Fulani man himself, a while ago (due to my personal relationship with him, this was the first time I have ever considered the farmers-herders clashes from the perspective of a Fulani man), he explained certain delicate and complex intricacies that makes the proposed ranching system, that used to me a very straightforward one, now seem quite problematic IN THIS PRESENT MOMENT. The laws in our constitution are not the laws of nature. These laws, as stated in our constitution, are created considering human peculiarities, such that 'general' beliefs even though inclined towards sentiments, as long as they are adopted by a represented reasonable minority and such that IT IS POSSIBLE THERE COULD BE A WAY AROUND THEM with the conditios that it does not threaten the ORDER in the country and the fundamental rights of others (the majority) is not infringed upon. Having stated the above, it is easy to see that the problem with the proposed Ranching System is that while it is a very logically straightforward solution, it is not the most considerate, therefore not the most appropriate (at least in the short term) and using a method analogous the Occam's Razor for solutions in politics and human relations is unreasonable in my opinion. Open cattle rearing is a culture and proposing a change in this culture must be approached as sensitively as other important cultures of the other tribes. One does not expect that a culture be abandoned overnight, nor that laws guiding a country be entirely insensitive to the peculiarities of the people bound under it. As in developed worlds, these are the kinds of problems that are confronted by Political scientists, Economic analysts and sociologists, putting forward a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of THE PROBLEM OF HERDERS in the country. The Fulani should grow in to the 21st century and live like Normal humans will save your in-laws all these difficult intricacies of adaptation, even the tauregs and Berbers of northern Africa have imbibe civilization, the rich Fulani have been selfish all the while.... now urbanisation and population has increased in all south of Sahara no free land anywhere again. |

Politics › Re: Calls For Restructuring: Go To National Assembly - Garba Shehu Tells Agitators by Blankstare(m): 11:00am On Jan 23, 2021 |
kayjay69: To restructure Nigeria, 2/3 of the national house of assembly needs to approve. The present composition of Nigeria per geopolitical zones are: North West - 7 states North Central - 6 states North East - 6 states South West - 6 states South East - 5 states South South - 6 states Each state has 3 senators and 10 house of rep members FCT - has 1 senator and 2 house of rep members So a total of 110 senators and 362 house of rep members
2/3 means 74 senators and 242 house of rep members. For this to happen, the southern geopolitical zones need to be 100% united and get help from some North Central (a.k.a Middle Belt) states.
Theoretically, it can happen. Practically, it is almost impossible mostly due to politics. These National Assembly Members know if they vote to restructure, that is the end of their largesse hence their absolute commitment to One Nigeria. They are not revolutionaries, they love, enjoy and benefit from the status quo, they want things to remain as they are. In addition, those of a Northern Extraction, as a matter of survival, will never vote to restructure.
So Garba Shehu knows exactly what he is doing when he is telling agitators to goto the National Assembly. I do not see a peaceful resolution to restructuring or splitting Nigeria which is why I will continue to state, the Southern region (especially my region the Southwest) needs be ready for any type of scenario.
Si vis pacem, para bellum - if you want peace, prepare for war. House of representatives vary according to state, last constituent deleaniation was done by Abacha in 1995; My state Kwara has 6 house of reps Kano is 20 Lagos 20 Katsina is 16 Much of almost 2/3 was cut for the north by Abacha and his lawyer Auwalu yadudu whom both have envisage this day. |

toxtimmy: The fact is southern Nigerians are mumu... For example Amaechi use Rivers State money to fund Buhari's presidency... Ameachi has built millions of miles of railways and bought a billion trains but so far there is no rail connection between rivers, calabar, Akwa Ibom , Bayelsa and delta states despite all the revenue that they generate for Nigeria to build railroad to the country niger.
The funny thing is southerners say notherners are illitrate and no Sabi anything but na these same notherners they rule these southerners for decades... Make I go drink a cup of water before I laugh. Amaechi and fayemi interpreted the script of the cabal and chase away oshiomole, and instead to be replaced by a southerner as interim...the north now have the president and party chairman that will serve for two years pending the Congress that will produce a substantive northern party chairman by 2022, thereby giving Buharis boys the chance to do as they like...the south is in a fixed for the game ahead, they might lost the ticket if care isn't taking |

Thegracefulness: Don’t usually say much on this website, but the times I do, I try as much as possible to rationally address the issue at hand.
What’s the difference between bandits, & terrorists? The operational end game. While terrorists are for political gains/aims, bandits are considered small timers like petty thieves.
But are these people petty thieves? Why are they bent on naming them so-called “bandits” In the year 2020, “bandits” killed more than three thousand people in various but similar attacks in different communities.
Why have they not expunged these criminal elements? Resorting to peace deals is a glaring sign that the military is either underperforming or incapable of handling domestic criminal elements, what then happens when a foreign power invades this kangaroo establishment that is Nigeria?
Truce and Peace deals is like serving vitamin to a growing child, you would only nurture him for future exploits, because you’re making him believe it is for his own good—and admitting that he has an option to choose or not.
Remember this comment, these “bandits” have now till February 2020 to prove me right. Let’s watch out for another Niaraland headline. Word oo! They are doing their self, and on self destruct mode. Usman Dan fodio jihad is a sahelian civilization that is about to collapse like other civilization before it, in few years time they will worst than Somalia. |

Do you know how many of Yorubas that are in the north?
Nigeria MUST learn to tackle the problem and not the people....
If anybody or groups of people are giving you problems, have them arrested and taken to court....
Although, the judiciary system doesn't guaranty justice at all times..... But that way, we could get to not taking the laws into our hands.... It's a quagmire situation I prefer his approach. The Fulani never and will never respect constituted authority, they are vagabonds who take delight in brigandage. |

OROSUNBOLB: Should anything happen to Kukah, just kiss Nigeria good bye ! I'm a Muslim and I always align myself with the truth. In this case,I agree completely with Bishop Kukah because what he said was nothing but the truth.
I have always believed that the day this country will breakup irreparably, Northerners will play a major role in it. Those threatening Kukah are Northerners and the Bishop is a Northerner too !
Buhari's nepotism cannot be defended; it is obvious even to the blind. God bless you! Buhari went overboard with his governance style.....not only you, many fellow Muslims knows this. |

This is a task for new generation African leaders, those less susceptible to primordial element of religion and tribe. I hope a unified currency is on the pipe line. |
