yemre: Well, the op is right to a large extent. However, I still wouldn't blame Dangote. He's a business man.
Why is it that, of all the people that have been given the license to build refineries, none of them have started anything?
Dangote could do this freely just because there are no stiff competition from anywhere despite being the 6th largest oil producing country in the world.
Imagine having about 10 other refineries of same magnitude or even bigger, scattered around the country, why would he not comply?
It's not as if we don't have people who have such money to build but the greed and the immediate gain mentality would not allow us do the right thing.
...and as a result, we all bear the consequences of our inactions. Lafarge, Bua, Mangal are all producing cement yet cement prices keep going up. There is something wrong with Nigeria regulators in cement and petroleum industry. That guy that was blocking Dangote tendencies was blackmailed by Dangote to resign, now he is having a free ride in increasing prices of petroleum products. Using AGO as a case study, before the war when crude oil was 71$ and exchange rate 1400, AGO was 1000#, now that crude oil is just 100$, AGO should not be more than 1400# at same exchange rate; it does not make economic sense at all that AGO is at 1900. Dangote is ripping off the local market regardless of the war. |

CYBERWEAVER: I am currently planning to get married. I’ve been with my babe for about a year now.
After several consultations, we agreed on a wedding budget of about 3 million Naira.
But I keep asking myself one very honest question: how do I commit that kind of money to someone who hasn’t really shown the same level of effort back, even in something as small as 5k, despite earning a little?
Asin, I never smell her 5k since we started dating.
At this point, it’s not even about the money anymore. It’s about intention, balance, and simple acts of kindness.
Even on my birthday, I didn’t receive a gift from her, and that stayed with me more than I expected.
I’ve never had to deliberately test her money, because genuine care and small acts of giving usually show themselves naturally over time.
To be clear, I’ve been carrying most of the financial weight in this relationship, and there’s hardly anything tangible she has ever done for herself without at least my 50% contribution since we met.
I don’t complain, but I also don’t want to ignore what I’m seeing.
As a responsible man, I’m trying to be honest with myself before I take a step I can’t easily undo.
So I want to ask people who are married or have real experience: if I go ahead and marry in a relationship where this is the current dynamic, what should I realistically expect in marriage?
I’m not trying to assume the worst, but I also believe experience speaks louder than hope. Another episode of stories that have never happened |
Crime › Re: Katsina: Bandits Demand 700 Cattle, 1,000 Sheep From Residents, Issue 6-Days by blesdman(m): 10:05am On Apr 12 |
iwaeda: The state government appealed for calm, adding that the authorities were carefully investigating the development.
Residents of communities in Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State have been thrown into panic after suspected bandits issued a six-day ultimatum, demanding 700 cattle and 1,000 sheep to avoid an attack.
The demand was conveyed in a letter delivered to the affected communities on April 6 where residents were given notice until Friday, April 10, to comply.
The threat has reportedly triggered widespread fear across the affected communities, namely, Sukuntuni, Unguwar Tsamiya, Magama, Walawa, and Tudun Wulli, with reports of armed bandits moving freely on motorcycles.
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity on Saturday, said the ultimatum followed months of harassment and abductions allegedly carried out by armed bandits operating in the area.
According to him, a notorious bandit leader had earlier moved large numbers of rustled animals after a dispute with associates, before issuing what he considered a “tax” demand on local communities.
“The situation has forced people to flee. Some have relocated to Rimaye, others to parts of Kano State, while some moved to Katsina town. About 10 villages are now deserted,” he said.
Concerns have, however, risen over the effectiveness of past negotiations between communities and armed bandits, which residents said previously brought only temporary relief.
Meanwhile, the Director General, Media and Publicity, to the Katsina State Governor, Malam Maiwada Dan-Mallam, on Saturday, appealed for calm.
He stated that authorities were carefully investigating the development and cautioned that the letter may have been intended to create panic.
“The letter has not been officially acknowledged by any authority. It could have been written to create fear among the people. And the government is working tirelessly to protect lives and property across the state,” Dan-Mallam noted.
It was, however, gathered that, despite official assurances, tension remains high in the affected communities, with many displaced residents remaining in fear about returning home.
https://www.channelstv.com/2026/04/11/katsina-bandits-demand-700-cattle-1000-sheep-from-residents-issue-six-day-ultimatum/ This is a direct war challenge to the Nigerian army and it is surprising to me how they are handling this issue. If it is in the south, the Airforce and army will start bombing. It is very shameful of the Nigerian armed forces manner of handling banditry and Boko Haram in the North |

advanceDNA: U dodged my question…so I’ll ask again…. is that how he rapes the female in the office, their neighbour, and other women he happens to be close to? This isnt about hypocrisy, because it is not a sexual relationship of consent…it is rape and physical assault …. yet somehow u are trying to justify and equate the man’s behaviour with innate animalistic sexual response triggered by just being close to a female…. Humans are not beasts in the wild, so saying his wicked behaviour is normal trigger because hes in close proximity to a female is the weirdest shlt i will hear this week.. and the week is still very young Don't be hysterical about my observation. I will elucidate by saying it is how feelings develop and being in house. I do not excuse the behavior of the man but only trying to say that excessive closeness is potent trigger of sexual relations. Hence u hear of relationships between doctors and nurses, cases of office wives and office husbands, or choir relationships, pastors and female secretaries, as well as relationships between female secs and their male bosses even when they have wives, rev father's and nuns. I wonder how u are pretending that this is not the case. Self control is key but too much exposure to some environments is capable of destroying it |

advanceDNA: U are probably one of those pple that will say using minor as maid is a wrong… now that this maid is an adult, u still blame the woman……. The werey husband wey the nor get self control…. Is that how he’s sleeping with all the women in his office and the street?? Let’s call a spade what it is and not blame the women for the husband’s lack of discipline it is what is. Right from the beginning, male and female do not stay close together otherwise sexual feelings will develop. Denying this fact is hypocrisy. Even for a woman, putting a male help who is always close to the wife, can also lead to catastrophe. The best scenario is for the help to come from the husband's family line or a male help from the wife's family. It is not a self control matter. Closeness almost always leads to sexual feelings. Another way is allowing such external helps to come for a period and not as live-in helps |

SIRTee15: first thing u need to realize and acknowledge is women are hypergamous in nature. women at the same status as yourself will desire a man above your level. women above your status - financial or career or accomplishment wise will not want u bocs u are beneath them. women below your status will naturally gravitate towards u by default. That how the dating game works.
Now, do u have the time, resources and energy to prove yourself to women above your economic and social status that u will make a good husband and they wont regret picking u? do u have the what it takes to compete with other men for women at the same level as your socio-economic status and make them look your direction or u just go for the easy pick- ones below u?
what u need to ask yourself is what do I want in a woman I want to marry? do u want a well domesticated lady or a beautifully endowed woman or goal/career oriented woman or u looking for a woman that will give u peace of mind. what about personality- whats your preference? Lively, feminine or quiet type or u want a serious lady as wife/ do u want a socialite as a wife or more of family oriented wife. are u looking into 50-50 wife or u prefer absolute submission and loyalty.
Look here, at the end of it all, what count is the kind of woman u will be compatible with. forget all these high flying babes, what matter is if I marry her, will I enjoy my marriage? No need marrying a woman that will end up causing u troubles and all u do is fight all day. such negative energy drains u.
There's nothing as beautiful as an enjoyable marriage. The stability and happiness it brings is unmatched. A woman that will give u that should be your preference. Well said |

Drifter02: I have a job. Earning a decent salary and my own place.
Yet all the women I keep talking to don't seem to want something to do with me.
I'm not being pathetic. That's how it is actually. There's always some other guy that outspends and competes for their attention.
The other ones I see are soo downright immature. Just babies masquerading as women, girls that have never faced adversity, girls that have no sense of responsibility. Attention-sucking leeches. Girls that can't even make up their own minds. Girls that keep running to their mothers for any single thing.
Other ones fancy themselves as hustlers and are always so difficult. Those ones are always competing with you for dominance. Soo crazy man.
And there are the brokies. Liabilities. No job. Nothing.
Omo I'm always so alone staying in my room, particularly at night. I feel soo alone.
I don't want a woman because of sex. Sex is sooo trivial. I honestly don't even care. Next time I have sex, it'd be to make a child.
I just don't know how single men honestly cope. It's so crazy out here If u have a job, go for a nurse or a teacher. They will align to what u need in a wife. But if u go for a too much ambitious lady, u fit cry tire |

Bendeco02: Normally the primary aim of most men is sex but many women don't know that.
They thought most men that approaches them need them in their life.
Online, they always brag they can't settle with broke guys, ugly guys, short guys. Who even told you that those men want to marry you ?
If not for religion, majority of men won't even marry at all.
But women marry because they need someone to take care of them and spend on them after their attraction/beauty expires.
Sleeping with a man won't stop a man that actually love you not to marry you sha.
The main point is that women overrate themselves while in reality men are actually the prize. They are even more than men in number. Well said.First mistake of a woman before a man is to overrate herself so much. When u have that disposition, u will be a price to be conquered and when done, u will be left behind. My wife never overrated herself in my presence, she was so much herself, she was not too difficult to bed even when I wanted to and it has been many years of conjugal bliss more than a decade. |
Romance › Re: Pretty Lady Opens Up About Why She’s Still Single (photos/video) by blesdman(m): 10:58am On Mar 10 |
franchasofficia: She is right to some extent but she is completely wrong to a great extent.
She should ask most married ladies in Nigeria, if they would be honest to her, I can personally say that if we have 100 married women in Nigeria, at least 82 slept with their husband before they got married.
Dear single ladies, please I encourage you to live a chaste life, but please men don't leave you or break up with you just because they had sex with you, never!
Men leave you after sex if any of the below scenarios played out:
1.) You proved too stubborn when he was wooing you and formed so much for him only for him to use everything he has and every tactics he knows to get you, the moment that guy finally have sex with you, the spell will fly off from his eyes and he will realize that you were never worth the whole stress and from there, his interest will die a natural death and sooner or later he will leave you in search of a more deserving lady.
2.) You lied to him or pretended to be a virgin and he later realized that you were far from being a virgin, he will develop disdain for you and will definitely run from you.
3.) You appeared too good that he thought having you as partner means having everything in a woman, only for him to realize that you are empty, have nothing else profitable to offer aside sex and material/financial demands that keep draining his pocket, of course he will start looking for the exit door to run.
4.) You are materialistic and very demanding. Today it is hair, tomorrow it is underwear, next tomorrow it's your phone that you want to change, next week it's your birthday, the upper week it's clothes or money to complete asoebi for your friend, next month you are asking for school fees or money to complete house rent, next you are begging for a loan, and the cycle of demand continues, no man will stand such a greedy, insatiable and unreasonable materialistic woman for long. Even if he mistakenly marries you, be sure that the marriage will either end in divorce or in chaos.
5.) You are dirty down there and not making amendments to become better.
6.) You lack respect. Men cherish respect more than gifts. If you want a man to stay longer with you? Respect him. If you respect your man, you will respect his friends, his siblings, his parents, in fact everything about him. But some ladies just pretend to respect their boyfriend while disrespecting their friends and not knowing that it is those his friends that will pass judgement that will decide if you will be married or laid off as soon a possible. Please respect your man's friends and treat them with caution because they are the Supreme Court of your relationship most times lol
6.) You lack vision. You lack ambition. You know, they said after a man ejaculates, he comes back to his senses. After a man cums, he comes back to his senses.
You can only know if your boyfriend truly loves you and want you for keep after sex, yes it's sad but that's the truth. It is after you guys have had sex that he will now face reality and start seeing all your flaws as a lady. If after sex and he sees your flaws and still continues then you are a winner
7.) For some ladies, it is family altar and generational curse that is holding them down, yes, it's real. If you check that you have no issues character wise, being excessively materialistic, being too unrealistic with your demands from men, making yourself expensive, then check the spiritual side of life, something is wrong somewhere.
8.) For some good ladies, it is just the lack of luck that makes them meeting the wrong men. Location also matters. If you are in a location where mostly rich married men lives, it will take the grace of God for you to find a suitor. U try... |
