KayaMaghan: In the Western World, all adultery is the same.
In Nigeria, where the man "pays" for the woman, it is not the same.
In Nigeria, the man is supposed to pay a bride price, and fulfill some cultural obligations. This is to signify that he's the head, and "lord" over the woman. So imagine "paying for something" and having someone else use it.
And as the head, the man can still choose to go for as many women as he can afford, because a man's worth is only measured by how much he can afford.
Even after the wedding, the man is expected to be the one taking all the responsibilities. You cannot talk about equality when only one person is expected to carry all the load.
This idea of "paying" Bride price and paying off some list will have to go first before we can talk about men and women being equal in a marriage, because it indirectly places the man over the woman, and patriarchy is what equality is trying to do away with.
I dislike patriarchy as much as I despise feminism.
We are all Equal, but we are NOT the same! Well analysed |

A woman who wants that priviledge must learn to foot her own bills and use protection with her side guys.Even with all that, if it is discovered, it may be the end of the marriage. Plain fact |

ajuksobi: KNOWING NGOZI NMA ORDU
By: Ajukura, Fidelis O. ajukurafidelisobi@gmail.com 27th May, 2023.
On the 29th of May 2023, Ogba land shall roll out its drums to celebrate an illustrious daughter who has, made it proud in every conceiveable front.
On this day, for the first time in the history of Ogba land 'Onye Ogba' (Ogba person) shall be adorned with the regalia of deputy governor of Rivers State. This is a feat that puts Ogba land in an enviable position. The bringer or source of this honour is non other than Ngozi Nma Ordu. Obviously, this sort of reverence or veneration cannot be bestowed on any kind of person - it must be one who has distinguished him/herself in service to humanity. Ngozi's towering achievements in academics and politics are quite remarkable and outstanding yet she is as calm and harmless as a dove. As a result of her humility and calmness, many people, even in Ogba land do not know much about her.
Ngozi was born on 23rd October, 1952 into the family of the famous Samuel Elemele of Umu-Ohali kindred in Obite. Her father, Sam was an accomplished business man and a politician. Among her siblings are Chinyere Nwokidu of blessed memory.
Ngozi Nma Ordu got her first degree in Microbiology from Paisley College of Technology, Renfrewshire, Scotland. While in Scotland, she received the Best Academic Prize for two consecutive year - 1977 and 1977. From the prestigious University of London, she obtained a Masters Degree in Food Science and Management. In 1989, she obtained a Ph.D in Microbiology at the University of Port Harcourt. It is on record that she is the first Ph.D graduate in that department. She has attended series of courses on leadership in different institutions including John Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA.
Ngozi began her career as a civil servant in the Rivers State Ministry of Health where she rose to the peak as a Permanent Secretary. In the history of that department, she is the longest serving Permanent Secretary. She served for almost seven years. It is also on record that during her tenure in office as Permanent Secretary, her Ministry received various national and international awards. Based on her excellent record and achievements, she was in 2006 elevated from the position of a Permanent Secretary to a Commissioner (of Education) by the Peter Odili led government. She was given the appointment in order for her to use her wealth of experience to improve that Ministry. Indeed, she performed excellently well. For the first time, Rivers state government focused more on human capital development. Against this background, many River indigenes were sponsored to study overseas. Some of the countries that these Rivers indigenes went for studies include; Malaysia, Singapore, Russia, Uk, USA, Canada. She commenced the process of handover of schools to Mission in the state.
After serving as a Commissioner, she went to University of Port Harcourt where she became an associate professor of Food Microbiology and Public Health in the department of Microbiology, Faculty of Biological Sciences, College of Natural and Applied Sciences. Her areas of interest are molecular microbiology and the antimicrobials. She has published several articles in many local and international journals. Also, she was the first Acting Executive Director of the University of Port Harcourt Foundation. She taught briefly in Rivers State University as a visiting professor. In 2022, Rivers State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), based on her outstanding record and achievements nominated her as the deputy governorship candidate of the party in the 2023 Rivers State gubernatorial election. Before her nomination, she was the Director of Academic Planning, PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Rivers State.
Ngozi is married into the Ordu family of Akabuka. She is blessed with five children.
May her administration usher in immeasurable development to Ogba land and the entire Rivers State. Very great and humble woman. She is a delight to work with, according to gov. SIm Fubara and her husband. Looking young for someone her age |

Goodmarlian: Early last month I met this girl on campus where I work in one of Lagos prestigious higher Instititions, the time I met her she was sick and had no one to support her, I was a bit okay financially so I bought her drugs and food steadily until she got better, her parents were late as she narrated to me and she was staying with her aunt and the aunt wasnt financially stable to sponsor her education so she really struggled In school to keep up,Infact the aunty wants her to drop out of school and face her hair dressing skill until when they are financially stable because it was becoming difficult for her but this girl stubbornly refused and insist she will continue with school which I felt was a courageous decision from her.
I really liked the girl and she herself was also In Love with me due to me being caring towards her,and we were really attached to each other however things got bad ever since she started working in one hair saloon inside campus, her female co-workers are beginning to Influence her negatively, I feel there is this coworker of hers that encourages her to start billing me heavily that I have money ,suddenly she started feeling entitled, if I give her money to go eat she no longer says thank you, she will just grab the money from me and move, sometimes she will deep her hands in my pocket and remove money which I really hate. I started to think I am training a baby tiger that will hurt me later.
One day I sat down and thought about my relationship with her, I removed the orphan sentiment and asked myself, what if I am in the same shoes with her will she consider me as a worthy partner? That was when I came to my senses, omo na so I decide to dump her shaparly,in the evening that day she called I refuse to pick, she waited for me in our usual spot I refuse to show up, she asked my friends to call me I refuse to go. Them she finally came to Confront me to ask me what happened I told her I am passing through a lot and needed space she left immediately, I noticed she was depressed throughout that week, I cannot use my money to train up an upcoming entitled gold digger that will later hurt me women are something else. Nice decision. Men should begin to wise up. Don't date broke girls. Date girls from relatively rich families...it helps alot |

jesusjnr2020: What I Did After Seeing 10+ Opened Porn Sites On Browser Of Phone I Was Gifted
I recently shared the testimony of how I was gifted 2 smartphones after resisting the temptation of misplaced smartphone I saw while shopping in Bokku Mart, despite being in serious need of one myself after mine had crashed.
https://www.nairaland.com/8576404/resisting-temptation-what-did-after
However when i first opened the chrome browser of the first smartphone i was given, i saw it was a porn site on the address bar of the first tab and immediately tried to delete it before it opened.
But after it deleted, i saw that the next one was also a porn site, and the next one after i deleted that one, until i had deleted over 10 of them which had lined up one after the other.
I did it instinctively without thinking much about it, until several days later when I realised what I had actually done, considering my past history of addiction to porn and masturbation.
It also came to my mind during my prayer time, while I was praying for God to deliver me from the spirit of sexual lust, because I remembered how what I did with those porn sites, seemed as a distant and unrealistic dream at the time, because of how much I struggled with such things whenever I came across them.
Even if I had managed to stay away from them and not masturbated for a while, that would usually mark the end of my resistance journey, as I would consequently suffer a relapse after watching it and have to start from scratch all over again.
But here I was instinctively deleting the porn sites on a mobile phone browser without even taking much thought about it, until I would later recall how hard it was for me to encounter such without being enticed or tempted by it.
It was a huge testament of where God had brought me from when I started praying that particular prayer point, while struggling with porn and masturbation, to the point now where masturbation is now history and only a thing of my distant past, that even when i came across porn sites like that on a phone browser or elsewhere, it won't even have a single effect on me, talk less of suffering a relapse because of them.
Hence I marvelled while yet praying that prayer point, at the great work God had done for me, bringing me from that miserable point I was when I started praying that prayer point, to where I was now still praying the same prayer, because the difference was glaring and astonishing.
However I'm not there yet, because my dream is to get to the point of Adam and Eve in the beginning before their fall, and also Jesus, where lust was 0%.
I believe it would bring more glory to God, hence won't stop disturbing God until He grants that desire of my heart.
God bless. I am sure the reason u re able to kill it is that u have other activities taking ur time and attention. Masturbation and watching porn is largely due to redundancy and inactivity |

Politics › Re: Amaechi's Charity Must Begin From Home. by blesdman(m): 1:11pm On Dec 10, 2025 |
nicholasdavout: Niger Delta Situation Room 12 Pipeline Road, Iriebe, Port Harcourt Rivers State.
Amaechi's Charity Must Begin from Home.
Last week, the apex socio-cultural organisation of the northern region, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) celebrated it's Silver Jubilee with the launching of an Endowment Fund intended to support the socio-economic development of Northern Nigeria, focusing on initiatives in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
This is a model in civic contribution to the development of a people. The event drew in northern leaders from all walks of life and politicians from other regions, who all contributed generously to the endowment fund. Among the politicians who thonged the even in Kaduna and doled out a sizeable amount of money (30 million naira) is our own son and brother, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers State and former Minister for Transport.
Ordinarily, this charitable gesture would have earned Rotimi Amaechi accolades, but for the cliché, charity begins at home.
Amaechi has always pandered to northern interests in furtherance of his ambition to be president of Nigeria. In pursuit of this quest, Amaechi's charity has always been estranged and divorced from his people.
As governor of Rivers state, Amaechi emptied the coffers of Rivers state, first in funding the N-PDP and in bankrolling the presidential campaign of former President Mohammadu Buhari. In pursuit of his own selfish interest, Amaechi disrespected the family of former President Goodluck Jonathan and actively actively sabotaged the Jonathan presidency. In a celebrated event Amaechi as governor breached protocol during a commissioning ceremony in Okrika by openly snatching a microphone from the hands of Mrs Patience Jonathan. He later abandoned the First Lady at the event and drove back to Port Harcourt. This is the same Amaechi that kneels, bows and kowtows to northern leaders at every given occasion.
For his efforts in sabotaging a sitting south-south president and slavish endorsement of northern agenda and wrecking the treasury of Rivers state, Amaechi was rewarded with the portfolio of Ministry of Transport. His ruinous and deleterious record as a so called Super Minister has become kegendary. His first salvo against the people of the south-south region was his unsuccessful move to relocate the Maritime University of Nigeria, from Okerenkoko, in Delta State. Citing all manner of baseless and surreptitious excuses, fought against the entire region in his bid to relocate the university and pander to the whims of his masters. The spirited and stout resistance of the entire region was whSt saved the day. The university remained in Okerenkoko to Amaechi's consternation.
Amaechi's entire tenure as Transport Minister was used to wage war against southern interest. He identified and cancelled all the contracts being handled in the ministry and it's parastatals and agencies by prominent southern leaders. His goal was simple: destroy all businesses and economic foundation of key southern leaders. He destroyed the business of late Capt. Hosa Okunbor, because according to Amaechi, "how can only one man be making that kind of money". Hosa Okunbors' Offshore Marine Services Limited (OMSL). OMSL operated the Lagos Safe Anchorage Area (SAA) under contract for the Nigeria Ports Authority. Having coveted the business Amaechi cancelled the contract and gave it to his cronies and Isreali fronts under a nebulous Deep Blue Project. Please from the Nigerian Senate, Nigerian Navy and industry stakeholders on Amaechi to reverse his action fell on deaf ears. Hosa Okunbor died heartbroken.
Contacts awarded by NPA to Brawal Shipping Line, owned by Rivers born Chief Victor Odili were cancelled. The Calabar towage contract awarded to another Rivers born businessman, which has been running for years, was cancelled by Amaechi. Ironically most of the contacts cancelled by Amaechi, were awarded by Northerners during their tenure. But Amaechi who would not have any southerner of equal means and status, in the region, made sure that by the time he was done as Minister of Transport, no southern had any reasonable contract except for the paltry pittances he awarded to his cronies.
Throughout Amaechi's tenure as Minister of Transport the Eastern Rail Corridor was abandoned, while he was busy building railways in the North and South West. The Lagos -Ibadan railway line was built. The Abuja Kaduna rail line was built. The Kano-Maradi rail line was awarded. These rail projects remain the costliest in Africa. But in Amaechi's home region not a single track of the modern rail line was built. The old colonial narrow gage rail line could not even be maintained. The existing rail line runs from Port Harcourt to Aba! From Aba to Maiduguri, there is no single line of rail track existing, as the rail tracks were ripped and sold as scrap by Amaechi's cronies. The rest of the equipment were cannibalized by scavengers.
Throughout Amaechi's years as a so called super minister, no southerner benefitted from any key or significant political appointment at the federal level. His fabled closeness to late President Buhari was only used to further his own personal interests and political schemes. Unlike what currently where an army of Rivers and South -South sons and daughters are manning key and sensitive positions at the federal level, Amaechis' tenure was a period of political drought and famine.
It is not on record that Amaechi has ever made any donation or supported the activities of such south organisations as PANDEF, Ogbakor Ikwerre etc.
It would have been expected that after his disastrous tenure as Minister and his equally disastrous presidential bid, that Amaech by way of atonement would have started to join hands with other leaders of the South South to plan for the Future and development of the zone, the way the Arewa Consultative Forum has been doing for the north.
But in his usual narcissistic behavior Amaechi has continued to wallow in self delusion that he can actualize his ambition by neglecting and underdeveloping his region while championing the cause of others. Charity as the say must surely begin from home.
We congratulate the Arewa Consultative Forum, on their Silver Jubilee and successful launch of the Endowment Fund aimed at the socio-economic development of Northern Nigeria, focusing on initiatives in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. This is the stuff leadership is made off. Leaders must serve and project the interests of their people and not chase some fabled and fangled ambitions.
When the time comes our message to leaders like Amaechi who has serially betrayed and mortgaged the south south region, is simply, THE SOUTH REMEMBERS.
Udofia Aniekan Scribe. Well written. Amaechi has consistently been wicked to the south..Wike is a better politician than him.. |
