The arrest and detention of Peter by Herod happened during Passover. The word ‘Passover’ consists of two words: pass and over. To pass over something is to move over it. Passover conveys the idea that there is an obstacle halting one’s movement. Passover suggests that there is opposition.

Herod was an opposition against Peter, but he was still alive and Peter passed out of prison. Peter passed over the opposition against his destiny; the opposition was still there, the prison gates were intact, the prison wardens were around, and he passed over them. Peter passed over Herod’s plan.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: you will pass over every obstacle in your destiny. You will pass over every opposition to your progress; you will pass over every health challenge that wants to hold you hostage; you will pass over every conspiracy of the enemy against your life; you will pass over every attack that wants to bring down your marriage, ministry, career, business, etc.

Herod was still alive, his plans were on course when Peter passed over. God says, the enemies of your destiny may still be there, the people conspiring against you may still be there, your haters may be closer than before, but you will pass over on all sides. Despite the presence of your obstacle, God says, your Passover is guaranteed.

Passover was a covenant between God and Israelites; Peter was a keeper of the covenant, and he passed over the evil wishes of Herod. Maintain your consecration and keep your covenant with God and He will empower you to pass over every obstacle.

Prayer : Lord, I pass over every obstacle in my destiny, in Jesus’ name!Amen

The Passover was a covenant of the Jews. Within the Passover season, Herod arrested Peter with a negative plan contrary to Passover. Passover was symbolic of the day God delivered Israel out of Egypt, it was symbolic of divine deliverance, yet Peter went into Herod’s bondage.

While Peter was in prison, the church prayed on his behalf. Peter’s brethren understood the covenant of Sabbath, and they prayed until Peter was released. They didn’t sit back, waiting for God’s promise to be fulfilled; they activated the covenant by prayers; they prayed God into action.

Friend, it’s not enough to have a covenant with God; it’s not enough to have words, promises and prophecies that God has spoken concerning you. Activate your covenant with God. Activate the words and prophecies of God concerning you through prayers, declaration of the word, seed sowing, offerings, etc. It’s not enough to remember what God said about you; keep declaring it, keep believing it, and keep knocking on the doors of heaven for a manifestation.

A dormant covenant will leave you empty handed despite God’s promises. If you have a covenant with God, or God has made promises to you, and you do nothing about it, you may end up a loser like James who died because the church didn't pray for him.

Peter’s brethren activated the covenant of Passover and divine deliverance through prayers, they acted in line with their covenant, and God showed up mightily to set Peter free. Activate your covenant with God, and God will show up mightily for you.

Prayer : Lord, give me wisdom to always activate my covenant with You, in Jesus’ name!Amen

When Peter declared that Jesus is Christ, son of the Living God, Jesus said concerning Peter: “…thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church…”. Jesus made Peter a pillar and the arrow head of the early church on earth. There were lives tied to Peter; the church was tied to Peter.

So when Herod decided to kill Peter, he was simply attacking a man who had several lives attached to him. Herod plotted against a man through whom many had received miracles. Peter was vulnerable in Herod's hands, but because of lives attached to him, God didn’t let him go down.

Friend, God says, there are lives tied to you; there are people who will receive divine intervention through your life; there are people depending on your prayers and financial assistance to survive; there are people who see God through you; the answer to some people's prayers, is you.

God says, because of the lives tied to you, you won’t go down; because of destinies connected to you, the enemy won’t reduce your destiny; because of the future that God will create for others through you, nothing will cut short your life or truncate God’s will for you; because of the great men and women whose greatness depend on your active roles, you won’t go down and you won’t be extinguished.

Peter’s life was crucial to God’s agenda in the early church, and God would not allow him go down no matter the wicked plans of Herod. If you become a crucial part of God’s agenda for the lives of His people, He won’t allow you to go down.

Become a strategic part of the destinies of other people, and God will find reasons to preserve you. Ask God to make you useful and important to your generation, and He will preserve you because of your importance.

Prayer: Lord, preserve me because of lives that are tied to me, in Jesus’ name. Amen

In Matthew 16 vs. 15-19, when Peter declared that Jesus is Christ, the Son of the Living God, Jesus declared a word concerning Peter. Jesus said, “... thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church…”. There was a word and a prophecy over Peter’s life, and Jesus was bound to fulfill that word.

So when Herod showed up to kill Peter, he was up against a man who had a word from God over his life. He was fighting a man upon whose life God declared a word that was bound to be fulfilled. Herod’s plan was contrary to God’s word concerning Peter, and the conspiracy crumbled.

Friend, there is a word over your life, and God’s word over your life will prevail over the plans of the enemy. God’s word over your life will defeat every conspiracy of enemies against you. God’s promise to supply all your needs will prevail over the challenges in the economy; God’s word to protect you will prevail over every plan of the enemy to destroy you; God’s word concerning your destiny is a shield from the attacks of the enemy.

When the enemy wants to take your eyes off God’s word, be careful, he is trying to take your eyes off the same thing that can protect your destiny. When you stop reading, listening, confessing and meditating on God’s word, you are on the highway to depreciation and destruction.

Ask God to confirm and fulfill His word concerning you. Ask God to shield your destiny with His word. If Peter did not die because of the word over his life, nothing will go wrong in your life if you hold on to God’s word.

Acts 19 vs. 20 sums it up: “So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.”

Prayer : Lord, may Your word over my life prevail over every ‘Herod’ against me, in Jesus’ name.Amen

In Matthew 16 vs. 15-19, when Jesus asked His disciples who men said He was, Peter replied, that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus affirmed that Peter’s statement was by divine revelation. So Peter was a man of revelation. Peter had deep revelations about his Master.

So when Herod arose to kill Peter, he was fighting a man whose future was solidified by a divine revelation; he was fighting a man whose knowledge of God was above what other men knew; he was fighting a man whose understanding of Jesus was birthed by a divine revelation. He plotted against a man of revelation, and failed.

Friend, what has God revealed to you about Himself? What is your personal discovery about God? A personal revelation of God transcends general knowledge, and goes beyond what someone may have told you. So, what is the depth of your revelation about God? What has God shown you?

Glean a lesson from Peter: your personal revelation of God will make your life out of bounds for the enemy. What you know about God and His word will keep you from being consumed by the enemy. What God has shown you about Himself will connect you to a future that cannot be truncated or aborted.

When God opens your eyes to see more of Him, He is simply ushering you into the class of those who are untouchable and unreachable for the enemy.

Ask God to open your eyes to see Him more clearly, and to understand Him more deeply. Ask God to show you deep revelations that will distinguish and ultimately preserve your destiny.

Remember, "...the people that do know their God shall be strong..." (Daniel 11 vs. 32).

Herod took Peter during the days of unleavened bread, which was also known as the Passover. Passover was done in remembrance of the day when God delivered the Israelites out of Egypt (see Exodus 13). Passover was a celebration of past divine deliverance and past divine intervention.

When Herod arose against Peter, he came at the wrong time, he came against Peter at a time when God’s deliverance in the past was being celebrated, and he failed. Peter celebrated the deliverance that God granted in the past, and God delivered him again. The celebration of a past victory attracted a new breakthrough.

Friend, the celebration of past victories that God granted you will birth future breakthroughs. The celebration of past victories will open the doors for multiple divine intervention; the celebration of past testimonies will remind heaven that there is need to spring a new surprise for you; your celebration and gratitude for what God has done in the past will lay the foundation for what He will yet do.

Never overlook what God did for you in the past; never imagine that what God has done for you is too small to be celebrated; celebrate what God has done for people around you. Even if you feel He has done nothing new for you, remember His past works in your life, and show Him gratitude.

Remember, if you celebrate the works of God in your life and in the lives of others, you are simply setting the stage for fresh breakthroughs.

The Psalmist understood the matter when in Psalm 103 vs. 2, he said: “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”.

Prayer : Lord, I will keep celebrating Your works; may the celebration of Your past works bring me new breakthroughs, in Jesus’ name!Amen

When Herod rose against the church, he killed James, and proceeded to take Peter, with plans of killing him. He did evil against the church, and planned to repeat the same evil again. He planned to repeat the pains and disgrace he brought on the church; he planned to repeat negativity.

After planning to kill Peter, he did not succeed. He planned to repeat the evil he did, but he failed woefully. He wanted to make God's people feel bad a second time, but he didn't succeed; he wanted to reenact negativity, but the negativity that happened to the church did not happen again.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: the negativity of the past will not happen again. The disappointments and misfortunes of the past will not happen again; the failures and heartbreaks of the past will not happen again; the pains and disgrace of the past will not happen again. The enemy may have laughed last in your matter in the past, but not anymore!

Don’t be scared, what you are afraid of will not happen again. That loss of opportunity may have happened before, but it won't happen again. You may have suffered losses, setbacks, harassment, abandonment, etc, but it won't happen again. What made you cry and mourn will not happen again.

The cycle of negativity is broken! Every Negative Repetition is cancelled right now. When Jehovah is involved, no negativity from the past will find its way into your present and your future. If Jehovah is involved, negativity will not happen again.

Nahum 1 vs. 9 sums it up: “...affliction shall not rise up the second time.”

Prayer : Lord, my past negative experiences will not happen again, in Jesus’ name. Amen

Our Focal Scripture speaks of king Herod, who stretched forth his hands to attack the church. He decided to attack and afflict people who were devoted and committed to God; he attacked people who loved and feared God; he attacked people whose only crime was their commitment, devotion and dedication to God.

Just when he began his attack against the church, Herod was killed by an Angel. He attacked the Church, and the Owner of the Church arose and stopped his wicked plans from continuing; he came against people who loved God, and God came against him and scuttled his evil plans.

Friend, any man who attacks you because of your love for God will be divinely interrupted by God. Any man who indulges in the misadventure of fighting you will be stopped by God; any man fighting you because of your love for God will face a battle angels.

Herod was a mere mortal, and he lacked the capacity to annihilate the church he fought against. No man has the capacity to annihilate the church that is devoted to God. They may make attempts, but God is available to stop them in their tracks.

Always remember that no man is God. No man is supreme over your destiny; no man has the final say on your life; men may have roles to play, but when they play god, the real God will show up to remind them of their mortality.

Put your trust in God, remain strong in faith and in God’s word, and God will interrupt the Herod’s of this world.

Prayer : Lord, interrupt any man that arises against me because of my love for You, in Jesus’name: Amen

When Jael rose to defeat Sisera, she did not go far to find a weapon to kill him. She took a tent peg and killed Sisera; she took a peg from the house she was living in; the resources for her victory was within her house. What she needed to hit her target, make progress and gain victory was within her house, and within her reach.

Friend, God says, the resources for your next level are already in your house, within your reach. The ideas that will distinguish you are already at your disposal; the opportunities that will take you to the top are already within your reach; the destiny helpers that will help you rise higher are already within your locale; the things that will make your victory easier and faster are already around you.

God says, you won’t need to look for it; you won’t need to become stranded before you find what you need to enable you win your battles; you won’t need to break your head to make a headway. Your progress will not face the hurdle of needless confusion. What you need is already around you.

What Jael found in her house was not a conventional weapon of war, but it sufficed to kill Sisera. The things around you may not look like what you need, but God says, take them, use them, they will work for you.

The opportunities may not look promising, ideas may not be fashionable, things at your disposal may not be what people say you need, but if Jehovah is involved, your ‘tent peg’ will do better than a ‘sword’.

Look inwards and take note of what you already have in and around you; if Jehovah is involved, what you have in your ‘house’ will work for your good.

Prayer : Lord, what I have inside of me will distinguish me, in Jesus’ name! Amen

When Jael got set to kill Sisera, she used a tent peg. A tent peg is used in holding a tent strong; it is dug into the ground; it is part of the foundation of a tent. Jael used something from the foundation of the tent as a weapon to kill Sisera. Something that made the tent strong was a weapon against the enemy.

Friend, whatever makes you strong is a potential weapon against the enemy. When you become stronger in faith, prayers and spiritual warfare, you are getting set to defeat the enemy. When God’s word strengthens you, it arms you to defeat the enemy; when being in the company of God’s people strengthens your faith and confidence, your next victory is loading.

Jael took from the foundation, and defeated the enemy. Anything that strengthens your foundation in God will make you too strong for the enemy. As you deepen your devotion and commitment to God, you will be a battle axe in the hands of the Lord, and you will thresh down the devices of the enemy. As your relationship with God gets stronger, you will become the nemesis of the enemy.

When Jael took that tent peg, it didn’t matter that Sisera was a warrior. The tent peg was enough to nail him. Some battles against you and some enemies of your destiny may seem stronger than you, but when you unleash the strength of God in you, they will have no answer.

Arise in strength, lay aside anything that depletes your strength, strengthen the areas of your life that are weak, and you will be an effective weapon against the enemy.

Prayer : Lord, make me strong, and strengthen my foundation, in Jesus’ name: Amen

As Sisera fled from Barak, he ran into the tent of Jael. He was exhausted, drained of energy, he had no more strength in him, he was vulnerable, he could no longer act like a captain, and in that weak moment, he made the mistake of walking into Jael's tent.

While in Jael's tent, he slept off and later lost his life. Where he walked into in his weak moment became his nemesis; where he ran to in a vulnerable moment laid the foundation for his extinction; he may have felt safe in Jael's tent, but right there, he transited from sleep to death.

Friend, hear God’s warning: beware of where you go to in your weak moments; beware of those you hang out with when your emotions run wild; be careful with those you speak to when depressed and discouraged; be careful with your words and actions in your vulnerable moments; be careful with your location and choices when you are spiritually weak.

Everyone gets weakened by life’s experiences; your inner spiritual strength may be drained by battles and challenges of life; but if you allow your weak moments to drive you into wrong words, actions, relationship circles, locations, attitudes, behaviours, etc, beware, you are digging your own grave.

It was wrong for a man to walk into a woman’s tent in Old Testament times, and Sisera’s weakness was no excuse to break the law. Whatever is wrong in your strong moments is also wrong in your weak moments.

Weakness is no excuse for wrongdoing. Ask God to strengthen you in weak moments.

Prayer : Lord, in my weak moments, may Your strength be made perfect in me, in Jesus’ name! Amen

Good mrn wonderful conquerors in the thread ,hope we all had agood nite rest and happy democracy day to all Nigeria on the thread. @billionairelady good mrn how is ne york hope u r good ,about that bird I mean the bird just fly into cct only God know what he was looking for ,so the man of God called the spirit behind the bird asking why dey enter cct when we were praying ,the spirit said he is jus a massenger that was snt on an errant ,the man of God was asking again was is ur name ,and which kingdom r u from but he was about to lie whn the angels slap him so many times,so he start confessing that he is from the gycs kingdom. That he was snd to come and listen to what is happening in cct and he was killed..

God is not wicked ,after today renunciation and feet washing come and see the great and mighty thing that the good lord did in cct today ,so many gift that the enemy has stolen was been restored back , a guy that his glory was stolen was also restore ,another lady that came from far for the fruit of the womb , after doing renunciation went to do feet washing as she was washing the demon incharge of her case manifested and said dey r frm the dark world and that dey the cause of the physical cobweb dat she is seeing and that dey her also in charge of her not given birth yet ,that dey use cobweb to block her womb so she can not conceive . But God is not wicked ,after she finish renouncing them and doing the feet washing ,the demon started shouting that the womb is hot because of the fire in the womb....another incident that happen when we were abt to close a bird fly into cct and it was killed immediatly ,the servant of God called the demon that came as the bird he said he is a massager that he was snt to come and bring information to thm but was killed .when he was ask his name and who snd him hhe lied so the angels slapped him... God is faithful because I knw sat will be great because God will bring his power ang his presence so mightily in jesus name, Amen God

Good evening g8t conquerors in this thread ,God is too faithful to be praise . Two weeks ago after taking anointing oil at nite before I go to bed and very early in the mrn after the 3rd day I wake very early in the morning and go to the toilet it was as if I was passing out somthing ,then after lik a week I woke up very early in the mrn with some substance coming out of me ,I rush to the toilet and feel a hudge to urinate and dis oily substance came out of me ,very red and smeling .since then till now I hav not feel the stomach pains I use to feel for so many years and I can eat at any time of d nite with no pains or trouble ....I just want to appreciate the name of the lord

“... he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.” (Judges 4: 19)

When Sisera walked into Jael’s tent, he requested for water, but she gave him milk, he drank it and she covered him; she made him comfortable. Sisera was being pursued; even if he was tired, he only needed to be revived to complete his escape; but he drank milk, got covered, and slept off.

As he slept, Jael killed him with a tent peg and a hammer. He got too comfortable in the midst of his battle, and the battle consumed him; he allowed himself to slumber in battle, and his slumber turned fatal. He rested instead of racing, he took milk instead of water, and he lost his life.

Friend, don’t get too comfortable and forget that the enemy is still on the prowl. Don’t allow God's blessings on your life to make you forget that the enemy is still trying to pull you down; don’t allow your physical possessions, and the comfort they bring, to make you stop praying; don’t allow comfort to become toxic in your destiny.

Sisera drank milk and he got easily killed by a woman who was not even a warrior. If too much comfort makes you lay down your guards, it may turn fatal. If you allow what God has done for you to make you forget that the enemy is still against you, you are making your destruction easy.

Comfort is good, but it's fatal and tragic if it makes you vulnerable to the enemy. Beware of days when you have nothing to pray about; beware of comfort that steals your spirtual sensitivity. Beware of extreme comfort.

1 Peter 5 vs. 8 warns: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
