“And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.” (1 Kings 3: 7)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, whilst praying to God, Solomon described himself as a little child. Solomon was still a child when he became King of Israel; one would ordinarily expect a King to be an adult, but for Solomon, it happened when he was still a child. Royalty and greatness happened early for Solomon. Solomon had early success.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: in 2015, you shall have early success. You shall be congratulated early; you shall have early testimonies and early results; you will experience open doors while it is still early in the year; your good news, breakthroughs, favours, etc shall come to you early; your testimonies will start in January.

When others say that their testimonies are yet to come, you will say that your own testimonies are already in multiples. When others say their success came late, you shall declare that your own success came early. When others wait endlessly for good things to happen for them, you won't have to wait; things will happen for you early and with ease.

Solomon did not struggle or lobby to be King. Other people lobbied and spoke for him. He was on his own and Kingship beckoned on him. God says, your greatness will not only come early; it will come effortlessly. You won't labour or lobby for it; you will be on your own and it will come to you.

This year, expect early success and early testimonies. Your Continuous Congratulations will begin right on time!

Psalm 90 vs. 14 captures it aptly: “O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.”

Prayer : Lord, I shall have early successes and early testimonies in 2015 and beyond, in Jesus’ name!Amen

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In the early days of Solomon’s Kingship, he offered sacrifice to God. Solomon’s kingship took off on a note of sacrifice; Solomon laid a foundation for a lasting Kingship by offering sacrifice; even when he was yet to receive any blessing from God, he gave a sacrifice. Solomon did not start his Kingship by making demands from God; he began by giving to God.

Friend, in this year, God says, lay a foundation with your sacrifice; learn to give to God. Instead of always seeking to receive from God, seek to give. Give God some of your time, resources, finances, etc; prepare the grounds for what you want to receive by giving a sacrificial offering to God; give to God even if you haven't received.

Concerning your family, marriage, children, career, business, etc, lay a foundation for a heavy harvest by giving a sacrificial seed that will move God into action. Give God a seed that will prepare your future and unlock the doors of favour unto you.

Sow in every new season of your life; sow in January, and don’t forget to sow again in the succeeding months; make sacrificial giving a part of your life; for every harvest you receive, sow a fresh seed that will bring another harvest; for every increase God grants you, give Him a seed.

Solomon began by giving God a seed, and he later became famous. His seed spoke for him. Your seed will speak for you. If you sow nothing, don't feel bad if you reap nothing.

Your harvest in 2015 may be stalled if you don't make the sacrifice that will bring your harvest. Start by sowing and God will cause you to reap.

Prayer : Lord, I will give a sacrifice in every season of 2015; may my sacrifice birth my greatness, in Jesus’ name!

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Before Solomon’s birth, his mother Bathsheba conceived a child with David, and the child died because God was offended by David because of his sin (see 2 Samuel 12). Solomon’s birth was preceded by death; his birth was preceded by negativity. His past was nothing to be admired or envied.

Notice that despite having a negative past, his future turned out positive. His past was not good enough, but his future turned out good. His past was terrible, but his future was a life of royalty. Despite a negative past, he later spent 40 years as king. His past was nothing compared to his future.

Friend, God says, your past is nothing compared to your future. Whatever negativity you were known for in the past shall give way to positivity all year round. Your negative history and things that went wrong in past years will not stop God from making great things happen for you in 2015. It doesn’t matter how bad your past has been; God says, your future is better.

Forget the pitfalls and mistakes of the past; the future will be better. Greater
things will come your way this year. The things that went wrong will be nothing compared to the things that will work in your favour this year.

You may have been mocked in the past, but this year, you will be congratulated. You may have failed in the past, but this year, you will succeed.

When Solomon eventually became King, no one made reference to his negative past. When God brings you a better future, it will be so spectacular that no one will remember your past.

Prayer : Lord, I believe Your word; my future is better than my past, in Jesus’ name!

In the journey round the walls of Jericho, seven priests were meant to walk in front of the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark of the Covenant was symbolic of God’s presence. So these priests led God’s presence into the procession around Jericho. These priests introduced God’s presence into the journey of their compatriots.

Friend, in 2015, introduce God’s presence into every journey you will partake of. May people see God’s presence in your home, marriage, business, career, city, nation, etc. through your life. Allow God’s presence into every situation that needs divine attention or intervention; lead God’s presence into every mountain that needs to be brought down.

Men who would be congratulated this year are men who would allow God’s presence into their circumstances, finances, career, business, etc. Men who will be continuously congratulated are those who will consistently bring God into their affairs and into the affairs of everyone around them.

If those priests didn’t bring God’s presence into that journey, just maybe the journey would have been fruitless, and an entire nation would have lost a chance to possess their possessions. If you don't involve God in your home, circumstances, marriage, place of work, city, nation, etc, you might lose something when the chips are down.

Don’t wait for circumstances to go awry before you bring God in. Bring God in on time, and He will show up on time.

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, God commanded the men of war to walk round the city of Jericho for six days. These men later walked round Jericho seven times on the seventh day, and the walls of Jericho crashed. Their journey and their obedience to God brought results in a matter of time.

The result they wanted didn't come on day one of their trip, when they began what God wanted them to do. They fulfilled God’s detailed instructions before getting results. They obeyed God for six days without results, and on the seventh day, they completed the process and got results.

Friend, even when God’s instructions to you haven't yielded results, keep doing it. When you have nothing to show for your walk with God, keep chasing after Him; even if your prayers are not yet answered, keep praying; even if your faith has not moved mountains yet, don’t lose it, keep having faith and wait for results.

Doing the right thing may not always pay off immediately; you may need to patiently and consistently do what is right before you reap results. You may take the right steps, make right moves, take profound decisions, sow seeds, pray, etc for a long time before you see the results.

The absence of immediate results is not a nullification of God’s instructions to you, neither is it an indication to abandon ship. When doing the right thing doesn’t work immediately, keep doing it.

The men of war completed God’s instructions and the walls crashed; they completed the process and got results. Obey God in full, and you will have results.

Prayer : Lord, in 2015, I will be consistent in obeying You and doing what is right, in Jesus’ name!Amen

In our Focal Scripture, God told the men of war to walk round Jericho for six days. These men were not asked to raise their bows, arrows and swords; they were only commanded to walk round the city. God had already given them the city of Jericho, and instead of asking them to fight for it, He asked them to walk around it.

These men of war were trained to fight and win. They were trained to make things happen with their strength; they were trained to fight for victory. But God did not let them fight, or make things happen by their strength. God gave them Jericho and wouldn’t let them struggle for it.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: this year, you will not fight for what is already yours. You will not fight over your possessions. You will not struggle to maintain peace in your home and marriage; you won't struggle to keep your business running; you will not struggle to make progress in your career; you won't struggle in your finances; you won't struggle to make things happen in your life.

What God has given you to possess, you will possess. You won't struggle to maintain and retain your portion. What God has already given you will not be taken away. You will not contend for your space and place in destiny. You will step into your inheritance with ease.

The men of war walked round, not because there were no enemies to fight, but because Jehovah was involved. In 2015, God will fight your battles, defeat your enemies, and preserve your lot.

Look beyond your strength and focus on God. If Jehovah is involved, you won't fight for what is yours.

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, God gave a detailed instruction to Joshua, for seven priests to bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns, and walk round the city seven times on the seventh day. The number seven resonated in God’s instructions, which would be followed if the walls of Jericho would fall.

In Biblical numerology, seven stands for perfection. So, God demanded for perfection before the walls of Jericho would fall. God demanded that things be done right before Jericho's collapse. God demanded for perfection before crumbling Israel's opposition. Perfection was God’s prerequisite.

Friend, God says, walk in perfection. Do things right; live for God fully; stay true to your confession and faith towards God; stop doing what is wrong and start doing what is right; get things right at your own end. Live in line with God’s will and God’s word.

God is perfect; but Joshua and company needed perfection before receiving divine help. The demand for perfection is on you. If you don't walk in perfection, and if you live contrary to God’s expectations, you are the one who has everything to lose, not God.

This year, be faithful to God even when it is not convenient; stay committed to your relationship with God even if everyone around you cares less about God; stay glued to your consecration to God no matter the temptations surrounding you. Let your character speak of Christ.

Joshua got it right, and the walls of Jericho fell down flat. Just be perfect, and the walls of your 'Jericho' will fall.

In our Focal Scripture, God gave Joshua the mighty men of valour in Jericho. Those mighty men of valour were men of strength; so, God gave Joshua the men of strength; God increased Joshua's strength; there were more lands to possess, and God began by increasing Joshua strength.

Friend, this year, God says, receive more strength. Receive strength to dwell more in prayers; receive strength to become a better person; receive strength to study and confess God’s word more and more; receive strength to make more impact on your generation; receive strength to conquer new grounds and make more achievements; receive strength to step into your next level. Receive more strength.

God will cause you to increase in strength in those areas where you were weak. God will empower you to do what you couldn’t do in the past; you will defeat the things that defeated you in the past; you will conquer the things that conquered you in the past; you will succeed where you failed in the past; you will do the exploits that seemed impossible in the past; you shall have strength to do whatever you could not do in the past.

Walk away from everything that drains you of your strength; cut off from relationships that steal your positive energy; walk away from activities that reduce your strength and passion; discard every habit or attitude that puts you down; if it reduces the strength of God in you, discard it.

Joshua needed all the strength he could get because there were more and more grounds to conquer. Preserve your strength; receive new strength; there are more grounds to conquer.

In our Focal Scripture, God announced that He had given the King of Jericho into the hands of Joshua. God announced that He had given royalty into Joshua's hands. Joshua was not born in a royal family, but God put him in charge of a royal. He didn't have a crown on his head, he didn't have the paraphernalia of a king, but he was in charge of the king.

Friend, in 2015, you shall control the kings of this world; you shall control those in power; God will give you the power to speak to kings and those in power and they will have no option but to listen to you; God will give you the grace to control what happens in the corridors of power at different levels. God will cause the kings of this world to bow and submit to you.

Joshua did not need to have a crown on his head to be able to control the king of Jericho. God says, even if you don’t have the paraphernalia of royalty, you shall rule over kings and princes in high places. Even when you are not directly in power, those in power will bow to you. Even when you don’t look like it, you shall be like it.

Are there kings who subdued you in the past? God says, this year, the tables will turn and you will subdue them. Are there kings you ran after in the past? God says, this year, they will run after you. You may have begged them in the past, but they will be the ones to beg you now.

You are in charge; and no longer will you be at the mercy of the kings of this world. Take charge through prayers and confession of God’s word; get set, the kings will bow to you.

"Lord ,don't give me something that is EASY, lest I become at ease in Zion...

Don't give me something that is EASY, give me something that brings out the BEST in me!

Forgive me for wanting something that is EASY, give me something that develops my intellect,squeezes out my creative juice and destroys my Comfort Zone Mattress ...

The Crowd want something that is EASY, how I wish they knew that's where AVERAGE lives...

Lord, don't give me something that's easy, give me something that challenges my thoughts, provokes my spirit and kicks out Mediocrity...

Childishness wants it EASY, Maturity goes for the 'bones' of life...

I never found the new ME in EASY tasks, I found them in those difficult, complex, complicated Assignments. I saw a more persevering, patient, deep, insightful, malleable, brave, bold ME...

I have often asked for something EASY because I am in love with the statusquo; but daily You teach me, If I have to break new grounds and take on new territories, You will take me through paths that may not seem convenient...

The day, I went for hard, complicated and difficult assignments, that day, You made them EASY...Such a Miracle!

Lord, don't give me something EASY, again, I want to watch you miraculously make them EASY as I believe and do..."

In our Focal Scripture, God announced that He had given Jericho into the hands of Joshua. Jericho was a city; it was a landmass; it was a territory. God gave a new territory to Joshua; God gave a new landmass to Joshua; God gave Joshua and the Israelites more space to occupy. God created room for them; God gave them more space.

Friend, in 2015, God will give you more space in your destiny; God will give you your own landmass; God will give you space in high places and in strange lands; God will give you space despite your haters and adversaries; God will make room for your destiny; God will create new territories for you, and cause you to possess new lands; God will cause you to have more and more space in your destiny.

When a man makes space for you, the same man could take it back; but when God creates space for your destiny, no man can take the space from you. When God makes space for your business, no competitor will run you out of business. When God gives you more space in your family, you will not need another man’s assistance to do anything you want to do.

When God gave Jericho to the children of Israel, those who didn’t have lands were going to have lands; some people were going to possess what they had never possessed in time past. When God makes space for you, you will do what you could not do in the past, you will possess what you did not possess in the past, you will achieve what you could not achieve in past years, and you will break new limits.

Ask God to make more and more space for your destiny; ask God to make more room for you.

In our Focal Scripture, God told Joshua that He had given Jericho into his (Joshua’s) hands. God also announced that He had given the king and mighty men of Jericho into Joshua’s hands. God never said He had given the walls of Jericho into Joshua’s hands. The wall of Jericho was not part of God’s package.

In the process of time, the walls of Jericho fell down flat. The wall was not part of God’s package, it was not God’s plan for the children of Israel, and it went down; the wall was an obstruction that would make it difficult for the children of Israel to possess their possessions, and it went down.

Friend, possess the blessings and not the walls. Possess what God has said, and not the opposition or negativity around you; possess God's promises, not the plans of the enemy; possess what God said in His word, not what the enemy is trying to create around you; the walls are not part of God’s package for you; negativity has no business surviving this year.

God says, every negative wall in your destiny shall fall down flat this year. The negative walls of 2014 will not join you into 2015; the tragedies of the past will not repeat again. Everything that is not part of God’s plan for your life shall perish; every satanic arrangement that is hanging around you shall scatter; if God didn’t say it, it will not stand.

Insist on God’s word for your life this year, and command every satanic wall to go down flat; when Jehovah is involved, every wall must go down flat.

Prayer : Lord, everything that is not part of Your will and Your word for my life shall fall down flat, in Jesus’ name!Amen

Our Focal Scripture reveals that Jericho was shut because of the children of Israel. Because of the children of Israel, the inhabitants of Jericho locked their gates and refused to move out. They cut off their interactions with other nations because the Israelites were lurking around. The inhabitants of Jericho were afraid of the Israelites.

Friend, hear this: the enemies of your destiny are afraid of you. Those gathering against you are afraid that they cannot defeat you; those telling negative tales against you are afraid of your greatness; those who have negative wishes against you are afraid of you, otherwise they would have carried out all their wicked wishes.

The inhabitants of Jericho eventually ran for their lives when the walls of Jericho fell. God says, whatever did not kill you in the past should get ready to run; whatever did not kill you will be defeated by you; whatever enemy of your destiny that could not pull you down should get ready to be pulled down; everything that wants to stop you will be stopped by you. If the devil could not kill you despite all he did against you in 2014, then he better get ready to run for the rest of his life.

Stop being afraid of the gatherings against you; they are not as strong as you think; they are not as lethal as they want you to believe; the fact that they have not pulled you down completely is a sign that they are dead lions at their very best, and cowards at their very worst.

Focus on God and everything that opposed you in the past will hide in shame in this new season.

Prayer : Lord, everything that ever opposed me in the past will run away from me this year, in Jesus’ name!Amen.

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

God had promised to give Abraham’s descendants a new territory. In Deuteronomy 34 vs. 1-4, God showed Moses lands that were part of the Promised Land; one of those territories was Jericho. So Jericho was part of the promise that God made to Abraham. Jericho was part of the word that God earlier spoke to Abraham.

In our Focal Scripture, the process of possessing Jericho began. The word that God spoke in time past was fulfilled. A promise that had lasted several generations was fulfilled. Some people may have forgotten God’s promise, but God did not forget His own promise. God fulfilled the word He spoke to Abraham.

Friend, is there any word that God spoke to you in the past, or any promise He made to you, yet it is unfulfilled at the moment? God says, He will fulfill His word in your life. Every promise that God has made to you shall be fulfilled; every word that God has spoken to you shall be fulfilled; every promise of God that has remained unfulfilled in the past shall be fulfilled in this season; God will arise to make His word a reality.

The Promise was made to Abraham in the Book of Genesis, and it was fulfilled in the Book of Joshua. It tarried for generations but in the end, it was fulfilled. It doesn’t matter how long God's promises on your life have lingered. God says, they may tarry, but they will certainly come to pass; they may seem forgotten but they are not forgotten; they may seem impossible but they shall be possible.

Focus on God, wait patiently for Him and He will fulfill His word concerning you.

Prayer : Lord, every word You have spoken to me, and every promise You have made to me shall come to pass, in Jesus’ name!Amen

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

God gave Jericho as an inheritance to Israel. It was a new territory for Israel to occupy; Israel gained an additional territory; Israel experienced an increase in her territory; Israel gained new grounds; Israel broke out of her former boundaries; Israel blossomed beyond her former borders.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: in 2015, you shall blossom beyond borders. You shall gain new grounds and territories; you will step into fresh opportunities; you will do more than you did in past years; you will possess more than you possessed in 2014; you will achieve more than you did in the past, and cross every boundary you couldn't cross in the past.

The limitations of the past won't hold you back this year; there shall be no confinement; you will exceed the benchmarks of the past; this year, your barns and territories shall be enlarged, your business and career will blossom beyond past limits, you will break forth on all sides, and the things that seemed impossible in the past shall become possible.

God says, in this year, you will not remain on the same level you were in the past year. You will not remain on the same financial level; your family will not remain on the same level; your destiny shall ascend to new heights; you shall step into new levels, and they will come to you as an inheritance from God.

Jericho became Israel’s territory because God gave it to them. The fact that you will blossom beyond borders this year is not because of your strength; it will happen because JEHOVAH IS INVOLVED.

Focus on God and you will blossom beyond borders.

CONTINUOUS CONGRATULATIONS!

JEHOVAH IS INVOLVED!

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Joshua and the army of Israel conquered and possessed Jericho, it was not because they made plans to possess Jericho. They didn’t raise money to buy Jericho; they didn’t get it because they fought for it; they did not gain Jericho by their own strength or human calculations and abilities.

The conquest of Jericho was God’s idea. They gained Jericho because God gave it to them; they defeated the men of Jericho because the Angel of the LORD came and fought for them; they possessed Jericho at God’s instance. They gained Jericho with ease because Jehovah was involved.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: in 2015, Jehovah IS INVOLVED! Jehovah is involved in everything that concerns you; Jehovah is involved in all your battles; Jehovah is involved in every opportunity you need; Jehovah is involved in your career, business, family, marriage, ministry, etc. God will be part of your destiny this year.

Because Jehovah is involved, no demon of hell can stop you, every battle against you will end in your favour, those who conspire against you will crumble, no sickness or disease will cut short your life, the tragedies that befall others won't befall you, your lines shall fall to you in pleasant places, and you will be favoured by God and by men.

When Jehovah is involved, He will speak for you and fight for you, and no man can stop you. When Jehovah is involved, He will cover your feet with butter, and you will be continuously congratulated by all men.

Don’t lose sleep because of any man who has abandoned you; just remind yourself always that in 2015, Jehovah is involved.

CONTINUOUS CONGRATULATIONS!
JEHOVAH IS INVOLVED!

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture introduces the story of the conquest of Jericho by Joshua and the Israelites. Jericho did not originally belong to the children of Israel, but God gave it to them. It wasn't originally their property, but through God, it became their property; God made arrangements for them to have it. Jericho was an additional territory for Israel; it was God’s gift.

When one is enlarged, the most natural thing that follows is congratulations. When people receive gifts, gain new territories, possess new possessions, receive favours, etc, they are congratulated. So God gave the Israelites a reason to be congratulated; He gave them a gift that would attract continuous congratulations.

Friend, as 2015 begins, God says, you will be CONTINUOUSLY CONGRATULATED. Because of what God will do for you this year, men will have no choice but to congratulate you; because of what God will give you, even your haters will congratulate you. In every second, minute, hour, day, week, and month of 2015, God will give you endless favours that will cause men to congratulate you again and again.

Any man that says you will not be continuously congratulated shall be disappointed by what God will do in your life. Any man expecting or predicting mourning and pain instead of congratulations, will wait forever. For every mockery you’ve ever received, God will compensate you with continuous congratulations.

God orchestrated the handing over of Jericho to the Israelites. God will make necessary arrangements for men to congratulate you this year. You're in for Continuous Congratulations.

Prayer: Lord, in 2015, I shall be continuously congratulated, in Jesus’ name! Amen
Welcome To 2015; You Shall Have
CONTINUOUS CONGRATULATIONS; Jehovah Is Involved!

“14. ...he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: 15. And was there until the death of Herod...” (Matthew 2: 14-15).
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

It is instructive to observe that Herod plotted to kill Jesus. He sought to truncate Jesus’ destiny. He sought to scuttle God’s plan concerning Jesus. Herod was an enemy of Jesus’ destiny, and he hatched a plot to ensure that Jesus’ greatness would not see the light of day.

Notice that in spite of Herod’s plan to destroy Jesus, Jesus survived. Despite the plan to cut short His life, Jesus' life wasn't cut short. Despite Herod’s attempt to abort Jesus’ greatness, Jesus’ greatness remained intact. Jesus survived and escaped, and Herod’s plan became fruitless.

Friend, God says, you will escape every trap of the enemy; every satanic plan to cut short your life and destiny will be fruitless; those who want to pull you down will pull themselves down; the conspiracies against your progress will not succeed; your greatness won't be buried or truncated.

The gates of hell will not prevail over you and yours; the kingdom of darkness will not have the final say on your life; nothing can consume your destiny; no negative wish against you will come to pass; you are untouchable and unreachable to the enemy; the enemy already lost the battle of 2014, and he will lose again in 2015.

After plotting evil against Jesus, Herod later died but Jesus remained (and remains) alive. God says, you will live to see the end of all those who plotted evil against you; you will live to see the downfall of those plotting your downfall. Every evil plan against you will backfire on the planners.

Any man waiting to destroy you will wait forever, because your life is hid in Christ, and Christ in God. You will survive and escape.

Prayer : Lord, I will survive and escape from every trap of the enemy, in Jesus’ name!Amen
