The down side for me and honestly I'm still depressed bout it is that I won't and didn't get to see my baby as a "tear rubber" with the varnice cassiosa(Sp) blood slime and fluid! I woke up and was handed a well dressed good looking and frowning baby and told he is mine i didn't see him come out of me nor hear that first cry... Sorry I ended up ranting

One more down side to general anaesthesia you could disclose your BVN or atm pin as you wake up cos you will be saying gibberish, acting and making funny faces I DID.

Lol at frowning baby, I guess he was frowning because he felt you abandoned him and was just sleeping

Nne I just read that 1 tablespoon of akamu contains 91 calories. And I use up to 3 spoons when making the white agidi. Now that I eat ip to 4 wraps, that means that I am consuming 364 calories just eating the white agidi. When you now add the pepper soup, it will be nearing 700 calories per meal. Hmm...

Chim oo this is not fair, was planning to make another one today and I'm already very big, added 4kg in the 1st trimester
What to do now?

Me I used to buy the white pap and make white agidi at home. But I make use of the moi moi plates for mine and it set wella too.

So, I think that those that cannot buy the moi moi wraps yet can make use of the plate of they have. But the wraps will give you a better feeling of eating agidi jollof.

The woman that used to sell the white pap does not sell anymore so I resort to buying already made white agidi at N500 for 15 pieces. I make goat meat pepper soup and take it with it.

I can finish 4 wraps at once and would have even finished everything at once but read somewhere here that pap makes one fat and baby big. Don't really know what to do cos I can eat it all day without getting fed up or tired

Puhlease mama, when you wrapped it up, did you cook it again or you just allowed it to cool. How did you pour it inside the wrap, like moi moi or okpa? You know corn starch coagulates after passing through heat. Is it the raw melted pap or already made.

No I didn't cook it again, when you add the raw pap that you made into paste to your boiling stew, you allow it to cook on medium heat then on low heat stirring continuously it will look like thick pap, ogi then you bring it down to cool b4 wrapping. As you scoop into the wraps like moimoi or okpa and close it, it will cool down more and set b4 you eat.

I got 2 medium sized tomatoes, 2 tatashe, 2 red pepper and 1 medium onion and blend them all into a puree and set aside.
Then i washed the soft bones i bought from beef sellers well and put in a pot added knorr, salt and chopped onions and boiled very well till the bones became soft.
I got another pot, added 3 tablespoon of canola oil, you can use any veg oil of your choice and heat it up for 5 mins then added my tomato mixture and fried for 3 mins b4 I added my soft bones and the stock and allowed it to boil very well,
then I made a paste of the white corn starch (akamu) and added to the fried tomato, then I stirred continuously while it forms like pap.
I brought it down from the burner to cool a lil.
I washed my wraps with salt and water.
Then I wrapped them and kept them to set but me I ate 3 like that b4 devouring 2 more, remaining 2 for dh.

Nooo sis pls don't use nylon it's not healthy and it may not taste like the agidi you know. when you get to the market ask them for moi moi leaves, the women will be glad to show you how to wrap it.
I ended up making my own and I couldn't even wait for them to set....I ate 5 wraps already remaining 2 for hubby
I'll be making Agidi now at home both white and jollof, thanks to Aitee, never knew the recipe and method of preparation is online.

Yes it's Agidi jollof! I have been seeing it in my dreams but I'm afraid of buying anyhow made agidi because of my experience in calabar when I bought spoilt, sour ones.
I have googled already. Going to the market to buy the necessary things, ama prepare it today if i still hv strength or tmrw morning.

i am heartbroken. i gave birth to a baby boy thursday lastweek and lost him on saturday morning. i had prolonged labour. i was in labour for close to 48hours. for the first 24hrs, i was dieing in pain, yet nurses will check me and say am just 2cm dilated. It was when they decided to section me that i finally gave birth, inside theatre room. my baby came out and did not cry, was very weak. they supported him with oxygen only for him to die after 2days. since then hv been in pain. pain that i lost my child, and vagina tear they gave me. please pray for me am finding it difficult to move on. pray for God to bless me with twins and wipe my tears.

This is quite devastating, my sympathy. The Good Lord will wipe your tears soon with double blessing for the loss. It is well

Ps: as soon as you confirm pls go straight to an ob/gyn and let him know about your miscarriages, he may place you on progesterone weekly shots, drugs or suppositories, with JESUS CHRIST at the centre, you are good to go

some weeks ago, my wife started feeling sick n weak at a time she was vomiting. the following monday, she told me she went to d hospital on the instruction of her mum 5 days earlier and was told lto do pregancy test which came out positive. was a bit happy though but was also angry, y told her mum n her mums brother first before telling me days later, secondly, she said i should not tell any of my family member for now until like 4 month after, i asked y, she gave a stupid excuse, then i asked if u dont want anybody to know, how about your mum , and ur uncle who wasnt even staying with u but came to visit u that day.
now, her laziness has trippled, she cant even carry ordinary nylon. been d one doing the cooking, washing, sweeeping infact all house chores. she complains she is weak, hungry, pains.
i was like, why should u , this is just your first month n u r acting like this, when u get to 8 month nko, what will hAPPEN. on friday night, she said i should go n rent an hotel beside our house for her or we put on d gen every night till daybreak cos of heat.
My question goes to the mothers here, How do u feel in your first month. was there weakness, or pains? she has been on this for almost two weeks now and am tired of her behavior or laziness. meanwhile, bfr the pregnancy, she doesnt do anything much at home .

Oga pls bear with her, it happens o, tiredness, fatigue heat is real in first trimester, that's the formative stage for the baby. Her body is doing a very hard work trying to make placenta and also form the baby. It happened to me too, I was always tired, I'll wake up in the morning do a lil house chore and go lie on the couch throughout the day, wasn't able to do anything. I was always hot and sweating, still hot though.
Some ppl feel cold but no pregnancy is the same.
Pls try and show her love she needs all the tender love and care from you now or she'll be crying for you oo, no stress. Pls adhere to her after 4months pregnancy announcement.
It shall end in praise and I wish her stress-free pregnancy till delivery in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Amen.
